My mom told me:”You have to look nice even you go for grocery shopping”. @@muhammadx1670 no, personality types would never flip. She's not introvert. She's Russian. She's very confident. We are just not showy. Russian women are brought up according to 19th century Victorian etiquette where a Lady is reserved and calm and always well put together, regardless of her material means. Women in Russia still regard her husband to be in charge and it works, ensuring much better natural dynamics in the family.

Hi guys, Eric from Pereslavl-Zalesskiy. I met my Russian wife in 2011 and we married in 2013 in the US. I screwed up the paperwork in my first attempt to bring her to Atlanta. The second attempt went great. We lived and worked there for 7 years before we returned to Russia. By the way, she received her US citizenship. I’m currently retired and receiving income regularly so money isn’t a problem, but with today’s situation we have to be aware of our finances. We love each other very much but we do have our arguments from time to time. After moving here I learned about the traditions and customs of Russian people and I respect their beliefs and I follow them myself. Your description of Americans is right on concerning how they present themselves in public.
I’m looking forward to seeing how you two develop over the upcoming years. Keep her happy and she will have you back forever. Russian women are loyal to the ones they love.

American men want to marry Russian women because women in Russia are more mature, understanding, honoring men in their lives. They usually cook and take good care of themselves. They are great mothers. And the most valuable quality - women in Russia believe in faithfulness in marriage. When you marry a Russian woman, you have a partner for life, no matter what life brings you. Of course you can run into someone who is phony, but it is pretty rare.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
As a husband of a Russian woman living in America, I do have plenty if advice I can give to men if you like, so here it goes from a Gen X American:
1.) Be the man your mother wants you to be. By that I mean dress nicely, stand up straight, for God's sake, shave! Dont look like crap.
2.) Don't be creepy! Don't send x rated pictures or talk about sex things while you are initally communicating! I cannot stress this enough! Its a huge turnoff for women and its bad behavior!
3.) Look again at rule #2.
4.) Get yourself in a financial position to be the sole provider. If youre going to stay in America, she cannot work for at LEAST 90 days. And with this thought...
5.) Have your own place, I know its double tough now, but you can do it. Be flexible in your housing/job choices. Be willing to relocate away from a city (cities in America really suck anyway) for a good job in cheaper areas of the USA like the Midwest or South.
6.) Patience, Patience, Patience. It will take time to meet your girl. There will be scammers, do NOT send money, do NOT "love bomb" or allow yourself to be lovebombed. This ties into the next point-
7.) If you meet on a dating site watch the site, see if they make you pay for all the little stuff. If they do, its a scam, the girls there are milking you. If you think you really met one, see if you can chat offsite via Skype etc. That shows genuine interest.
8.) Mind the time difference, we all gotta work.
9.) Dont let things escalate, this is not an American feminist. Nobody likes to fight, find solutions you can both agree on.
10.) You dont need to flash your stuff. Be real. Be a good man. Russian women appreciate strength from men. Be stoic and lead the family. Dont be jerk about it. Oh, and refer back to rule #2. Trust me. If asked I will tell why.

@@Wild-Siberia Don't fret about sounding like that. Russians would be extremely touched and would probably cry hearing you speak even mangled Russian. To us it's the sign of biggest respect and acceptance of our culture. Don't forget, Russians have been told for CENTURIES that they are second best and their Russian language is for peasants !
Until Russian revolution, for centuries Russia's official state language was French ! All the aristocrats spoke French as their first language, English and Greek as their second language. They spoke broken Russian and usually only to bark orders at their servants (the white slaves, Krepostnye). Russia was the last country to free their slaves who were native Russians. While Black and other foreigners in Russia were treated like Royalty.
It's not until Alexander Pushkin who was quater black and quater French himself that Russian language was modernised and literature was written in Russian.
Russians were brought up in an atmosphere of supplication before all foreigners from the Western countries. Even in the Soviet times, we didn't know, why but it was widely accepted that we are nothing and foreigners are above us.
Thank GOD !!! the New generation of Russians don't feel like that any more.
But if they hear an American speak Russian today, even really badly, it would mean a lot to them. Like that American regards people in Russia as equals by making an effort speaking in their language.
So try it. Don't feel embarrassed. Your viewers will be honoured and will probably cry with joy!

Hey Dan & Ksenia... awesome video. I married in Russia a few years ago and remembered the "you need to bring the singleness certificate from your country" at the ZAGS office... hahaha... Oh man... I went through a lot of paperwork, translations, legalization stuff, etc... I am self-educated in international law (Hague Convention) and so on... I did register every single visit to Russia at the Police Station... and waited for hours for that, after a 28hrs flight and jetlag... Unfortunately, my marriage ended last year, however we have an 8 yo son... I won´t mind to meet a new Russian woman... because, and answering Ksenia´s question, I admire the russian culture, the language, the beauty of women loyal to their husbands (when a man shows is strong enough to protect and support the family) ... I wish I could meet with you one day in Siberia.. I want to go to the Baykal... if you come to the US... I´m on the east coast... Reach to me anytime... as always... good job guys!... We had some quite similar experiences. It was kind of funny, that a lot of people thought I would be rich (just because I am German) and my wife would be a gold digger. But in reality am I just a regular working/middle class man and we fall in love. We had also some difficulties to get married. I needed the exact same paper (that I am not married in Germany) and it was quite not easy to get it. But it was worth it. So I wish you all the best and I hope you manage to get married.

A little nostalgia from the memories. Don't listen to anyone, everyone still finds ways to meet, life goes on. Visas are also being issued for both brides and wives. Moscow has completed issuing visas in the summer of 2021. But everyone successfully receives visas in other countries of the world and Europe as well. Rumors about Russophobia are greatly exaggerated. (this is being dispersed in the media that are unfriendly to us). In addition, horror stories are written by people who either do not know anything themselves, or it is profitable for them to intimidate you. Go ahead, look for opportunities, there are enough of them in reality, the main desire. And be both happy. Thanks for the video.❤😁

I don't really smile at people unless I actually find it humorous. I greet people with a 2-3 second soft grin accompanied with a nod of the head, a handshake, or a kiss on the cheek if we're talking about close female friends. I'm definitely not a happy go lucky person, but that's more of a personality thing and less of a cultural thing in my case.

Daniel, good luck to you and Kseniia! I just found your channel and am enjoying your videos. My sibling also served in the MC in Iraq, and Afghanistan as a contractor (on the Helmund base). My hubby is Russian--we got married in Russia 10 yrs ago and I had to get that "Spravka" from the US Embassy in Moscow, then get it legalized by the МИД in Russia. My cousin did things a little easier, he married a Finnish woman in Las Vegas. All she had was her passport and an expired tourist visa, but the chapel still performed the ceremony 😂 Btw, be mindful of the expiration dates/validity of your documents when you plan your trip back to Russia! I tried to get a temporary residency permit (РВП), but my certificate from the FBI (справка об отсуствии судимости), which had to be Apostilled by the US State Department, expired by the time I submitted my paperwork in Russia... it was good for 6 months until Russia changed the law and then it was suddenly only good for 3 months and already expired when I went to submit everything 😢 Next time I apply for residency, I will probably hire a Russian lawyer to help me and double-check everything. Because we're already married and in the states, I have also looked into applying for Russian residency while still here, i.e. submitting the paperwork to the Russian Embassy in DC, but I would still have to do the medical exam and Russian civics/language/history test once arriving in Russia (medical within 30 days of arrival). Not sure what your strategy is, but I hope it works for you both! We had to come back to the US, because it was easier for me to get hubby a US visa than for me to get a Russian residency permit. However, the laws are changing and hopefully for our benefit 😅 God bless you and thank you for your service! 🙏✝️

Eastern women tend not to let themselves go to seed after they marry. The rest of these guys think that Eastern women don't care if the man is over 40, bald and morbidly obese, which I find hilarious because physical attraction works both ways boys. I would love to travel to Russia because I love the culture and were my mother's family is from.

I think our southern russian regions have similar "loud and open" cultures, same as in U.S or Europe, where the norther you go, the "calmer and stiffer" the people are and vice versa.

About papers from US: you not only have to get the certificate of absence of marriage in US, but also have to legalize it by getting an apostille on that certificate in accordance with The Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents. And It is possible to legalize a document only within the country of document origin. Oh, and Russia do not accept electronic apostilles, only the one made on paper with proper signs and seals. And after that you need to do a notary translation of all this in Russia.

The accent is one thing that always intrigues Americans, there are certain ways native Russian speakers say English wrong but it sounds so cute. You both are cute. Its actually interesting that Russians and Hispanics get along nicely. There are similarities in friendliness, hospitality or smth. There's also similarities in a way both cultures look at gender roles. I noticed that a lot of Hispanic guys are manly and hardworking, this is what Russian females appreciate a lot. Enjoy your relationship, guys, there're some perks in being in an international couple. Its not always easy though. But it is never boring for sure 🎉

I have a theory that our genetics will determine who we find pleasing to the eye and it is predetermined……it is focused almost 100% on the face and can be determined in less than 30 seconds. Just my thoughts! Nordic women do this for me as well😂😂

The Bashkirs more natural orientated but in a very good way. In simple terms - fantastic as far as I am concerned.

I hope you know that anyone who is a decent person would not hold the actions of the government against the citizens of that country no matter what country they live in.
I live in the US and am a veteran of the US Navy and I regularly correspond with Russian citizens on Facebook. We belong to an international motorcycle group and that common interest bridges political gaps.
