I don't know how I didn't know about your channel. I've been watching your awesome family since, shoot, probably 1963 back when youtube was in black and white. Sandbags had just been invented and we were waiting on barbed wire to come out. You've always struck me as incredibly capable and am thrilled to death to have you teach me how to do this too.

Converting a lathe? No protection for the chuck (wait a minute, no chuck????) ? No shield? What is the distortion after the welding?

Great job man. Can't wait to see how well it works. I mean, your probably not going to get any high precision with it, as it's a bit too light for that. This is why production lathes are so heavy in the first place. You should get some real usability out of it though, as long as your not trying for perfect. Good engineering man. I don't think to many people can say, they made their own metal lathe.

Your audio is terrible. Check out the use of an audio compressor, plus EQ, then "LISTEN" to the "background" music before rendering the file. Good luck. (I love your ambition and "make do/make it work" attitude.)
