Glad found it. Know how panic scary lose reptile. My early days almost 30 years ago had corn snake escape over year. Had mice in house was under tumble dryer which warm always on most days. Well after year later escape tumble dryer not working so took out day later found my corn snake dead outside in garden of cold and bit grown longer and had healed bite marks on it from eating mice too.
@@Thegermanmonitorlizardguy yep sad but surprise still around in house that long. That lession learn small tole hand make top my dad made on top lid on fish tank. Back then UK hard find find vivariums most home made . Most use fish tanks but made tops but things change better now. That only snake I had escape that never found alive but I admit it lesion I learn
Prasinus I have raised didn't start eating dubia until around 6 months.... Try it with egg, if it likes egg (most love it), you can try dipping other foods in eggs.
Chicken eggs are best at least partially cooked, otherwise there is a nutritional issue (to do with biotin). I scramble them just enough so there is no wet yolk to make a mess in the vivarium - with tiny pieces of shell, and also some calcium powder stirred in.
Even if it doesn't take to egg, persist with insects... Offer then daily and nothing but insects until it starts eating... When it gets hungry enough it will start. Make sure the crickets you offer are the biggest you can get - the one I hatched refused small crickets but happily ate large... Common for monitors to refuse small insects 😂
Some reptiles not eat everything first or 2nd week in it new home had problem many new lizards yes eat but only some foods but after week or too sometimes after month easy eat other foods
@@Thegermanmonitorlizardguy am sure it will would not over worry. Once settle sure it will. Some my iguanas only eat but not all foods but later on eat almost anything
Wish more keepers like you you given that monitor lizard very good home

Fingers crossed.
Very true it can take them a lot of time to get use to their new enclosure. And stress can be a big reason why they don't eat too
👍👍
Until he just jumps over it 😂
I think he will get the hole enclosure in 6 month.
