You can get at ad for his injuries and the inconsistent offense at times, but this man is just as valuable on defense, up until denver where the lakers go out classed, this man was the best defensive player in the playoffs, dude was anchoring that side of the ball game to game. Yea u can look at the inconsistencies on offense, but hes not just an offensive player, he plays that other side of the floor at a even higher level. For some reason a lot of people just dont really talk about the value of defense, and defense in general, most media and most people, largely just look at the player's offense

your point is valid but to me it doesn't explain the bigger picture of what ppl are complaining about. Yes, defense is important and absolutely crucial. AD is top dawg when it comes to defense BUT (I am also a Lakers fan as well)....we did not give up all those assets and busted out the 2nd coming of Shaq for another version of or more expensive Rudy Gobert. And that's what he has consistenly been and played like.
When we got AD we expected for him to be what Giannis is now. The sure fire no 1 guy that will take the keys from Lebron and run with it, defensively and offensively dominate on a consistent basis in the regular season and postseason. Mind you, Giannis with his limited offensive skillset won the MVP, Finals MVP and defensive player of the year. Everyone always says over and over and over again, that "when healthy, AD is the most talented player in the world alongside KD". So is it wrong for ppl to hold him up to that standard? To expect more from him? I mean he is getting paid like one, he was expected to be one, we gave up the whole farm for him, and Lebron and the whole front office is waiting for him to be THE GUY.
The fact that he can manage to be defensively great is just not enough. Not by Laker standards or the standards that everybody keeps saying he is.
It's fine if he CAN'T be THE GUY. Then can we get something back? picks? money? players? If not, then he just has to be HIM. Especially in LA. Or else, he's just a really expensive Gobert in Laker fan's book.

This was one of the best decisions they made on ESPN. Shannon and SA together?! Even just looking at Shannon the look in his eyes you can tell he is enjoying what he does again and is naturally happy.
I feel like the problem is that AD is forced to play center which isn’t his natural position. Lakers need to invest in a starting center. They won’t win a chip with AD at center.

AD did fantastic against the Nuggets at center. The problem was he was the ONLY one fantastic at center, so the moment he was subbed out they struggled.

As a Lakers fan, I tend to agree with Stephen A. on this one. Anthony Davis is a bit too inconsistent with all these injuries. If the Lakers are going to go deep in the playoffs and possibly win the championship, Anthony Davis is going to *have* to be healthy throughout the season.

@@shorty1103 The Lakers have 5 players who can be the leading scorer on the team on any given night. Rui can go off for 20 plus. Same with Reeves and same with Dlo. They aren't as reliant on AD and Bron like they were in the past. They made the WCF with a team assembled at the last minute now that they're gonna have a full season together they can go very far.
