I purchased the pattern a few days before this was posted, and honestly, really grateful for the video tutorial !! I struggled with the strap, my "I need visuals" brain just could not comprehend taking out the slipknot 😂 will say, for anyone considering purchasing the pattern, there are a lot of tips and additional customization tutorials included, like how to increase the bag size 👀 considering trying it out for an adorable laptop bag !
🥰 thank you for commenting. I really appreciate you talking to me. I want to have fun creating with you guys so I'm very happy you guys love this pattern as much as I do.
I just love you. Thank you so much for making this tutorial. I thought you made this as a paid pattern but you creating this free video tutorial is just i have no words
I bought your pattern to immediately start making it cause I couldn't wait for this video to post. I have made two bags now and I am in love with it. A tip for anyone starting this I would check to make sure what books you want to carry fit in the pocket before sewing. My first bag I didn't do this and it will only hold small paperbacks. I had to up my hook size to an 8mm. Thanks for designing this pattern for my new favorite bag!
@@nannynanny8578 I did. My first attempt I used a bulky yarn with a 6mm and it turned out small. I assumed it was cause I didn’t do the z thing. On my second one I did the z thing with the 4ply yarn and 6mm hook and it was too short both ways so I upped the hook to an 8mm and it worked out better. That is why I suggest to check against the largest book you want to carry. My gauge tends to be tighter but this bag is easy to modify to your needs.
@@cinnqmonlove9944 I used up a large mainstays yarn skein which is just under 800yds. That amount should cover the whole project since mine was already partially used. It definitely eats up yarn doing the z string method.
For reference, I only used 1 skein and it was 744 yards. I ended up using only half of that skein and a little more for pockets and straps to make this bag. I still had plenty of scrap yarn left after I was finished. Just check your yardage. It doesn't matter how many skeins someone uses because they probably have 252 yard yarn which would obviously mean they used more than one skein.
For anyone who doesn't know how much yarn to buy, Bought 4 5ply yarns and it still isn't enough. Mine is a bit bigger though, I have 30 chains instead of 25. I only got to row 33. As of now, I still don't know how much more I need because I haven't bought any yet
I crocheted it too i love your pattern i didnt had big yarn or id i did the Z it was too big soo i did it without doing the Z and it turned out a cute little hand bag that is like A5 note book size ^^
I'm loving this so far! I just wanted to note coz I haven't seen anyone take note of it- if we want to keep 25 stitches total for the length of rows, the third row has to be 15 double crochets between the two gaps instead of 16. Otherwise, after you've done your chain 3 and then skipped 3, you'll be left with only 1 stitch in the row. I'm still working on my main panel, but I'm excited to finish the project!!
I thought so too but it's actually 16😂 I think it's used that the last stitch is very tight but I'm doing this rn and I had 2 stitches left because if u remember at the beginning of row 3 she skipped 1 stitch and started with the second
It's actually 16 dc between for row 3 since we don't count the first 2 turning chains as a dc. It's 2 turning chains, 1 dc, skip 3 stitches and chain 3, then 16 dc, then 2 dc. The last dc is a bit tight since it's on top of a chain instead of a normal stitch. I hope this is more clear.
Just in time for mothers day!!! My mom always wants a small bag for her items cause it pains her to take her big ones!! So cute!!! And she'll love that it converts to cross body!!
hii i don't get how you are supposed to get 25 stitches in row 3 when we do a chain 2 for the first dc, then a dc in the second stich, ch 3 skip 3, 16 dc and then ch 3 skip 3 and then 2 dc in the last two stitches! that's 26 in total.... i made 15 dc in the middle to get 25 and it's still coming out really nice!!💕💕💕 i already love this bag
I really wanted to make this for my mom for her birthday. Luckily i already have the yarn in her favorite color, but I couldn't afford the pattern. You're an angel for posting this!
Thank you so much for the video!! Question tho: Do the CH 2's near the beginning count as a stitch or a turning chain? cos this is the first tutorial i've seen that puts a dc into the 2nd ch instead of the first
As a beginner in crochet, I found the tutorial easy to follow!! I finished my bag an hour ago and I LOVE IT 🥰 (there’s a few mistakes but idc :3 ) still beautiful!!!
Thnak you very much for making a tut out of it its so helofulf 💚💚💚😘 i have a question, can u tell how much yarn we need like how many rolls did u use or how many do u thin for the regular sizes?
@@amandaramos4346 after redoing it over and over I finally figured it out! (At the small cost of wrist pain 😆) I'm not sure if you have bc I thought I already did all the stitches but at the end there's one tight stitch and I finally got it (it's the one made of the 2 chains I believe)
And you are ending up with 25 stitches still? When I do it I end up with 26 every time! I saw someone say they are just doing 15 Dcs instead of 16 so im going to try that I think ha
@@amandaramos4346 yes I still do! Did you make sure to start at the second stitch instead of the first one after the 2 chains? But you can definitely just do 15 instead haha
