➡ Rucha Joshi - Rucha is a final year M.Tech student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. Her M.Tech specialization is Communication Engineering (EE1). In the recent placement season 2020-21, she got placed as a Firmware Engineer in Apple.
➡ Sourabh Patil - Sourabh is a final year M.Tech student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. His M.Tech specialization is Communication Engineering (EE1). In the recent placement season 2020-21, he got placed as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Researcher in Hitachi, Japan.

Hi Soham. Your 12th marks should not affect your MTech admission. However, you should check out the guidelines released by respective IITs.

Can RA post grads go for internships during summers just like their TA counterparts?
I know that MTech students (both TA and RA) are not supposed to go for internships. You may do some online internships, if you want to.
Is it possible for an RA to go for exchange programs in foreign universities?
Hi Rahul! In the case of RA students, they are expected to work on the projects ongoing at IIT Bombay. However, you may apply for other opportunities subject to consent from your supervisor.

It depends upon the number of vacancies available for the project.
@@ANKITSINGH-vb9hn Usually they select 1-3 students per project, depends on the requirements as well as student's interview performance. So, if you performed well there is good chance you will be selected. Also, you should not share the project details in public. Wish you all the best!

Hi, Hares! For the RA category, you will have to apply on the specified portal portal.iitb.ac.in/mtechapp/Help.jsp. Accordingly, you will be notified of the tests/interviews if shortlisted. Is MS and MTech(RA) same ??
It depends upon the department which is offering the courses. However, there are certain differences for sure:
1) MTech (RA) at IIT Bombay is a three years program. However, the newly started MS in CSE at IIT Bombay is a course with flexible duration.
2) Duties also may vary.

If my preference is -
1. MTech RA CSE
2. MTech TA CSE
And if somehow I got in TA in some round (assume 2nd round).
And then got selected in RA in next round (assume 3rd round) and failed in written test/interview.
If then my TA offer still would be there, or gone permanently, cause I choose to upgrade ?
Please help me clear my doubt !
