This video made me feel raw emotions. I felt as though I wanted to be there with you. At 65, my years ahead are uncertain as I have been going through a cancer journey. I don’t comment here for sympathy, but to state that tomorrow is not promised. The point of this is to feel, communicate and love your life the best way you can. Anna, I wish I could give everyone I love this Finnish experience. Mind blown! ❤❤❤

I would never (nobody should ever) compare anything to having cancer, period. That being said, I fully get, see, and feel what you are talking about; I have MS, and I am at the point in time of my Dx that things may start to change. I was a world traveller Before, and now I'm feeling an urgency. I understand

Finnish food is clean and really high in fiber, so I'm not at all surprised if your stomach is a little upset.
there are no unnecessary additives in Finnish food, and the food is often made from pure ingredients from start to finish.

Gurl...your needs matter too and it's okay to be comfortable and tell people what you need to belong. I'm 293lbs and went to a retirement party last night and all the chairs had arms and I didn't fit comfortably so instead of stuffing myself into the chair I went and got a different chair and really enjoyed myself but believe me when I say I wouldn't always done it that way but what I need matters now. ❤

I don't usually comment on youtube videos, but this I must. Thank you for your wonderful, encouraging video Anna! Such an important message you speak out. You're a beautiful woman and a precious soul! The urge to exclude yourself from the table group and not to express your needs openly really hit me as I, too, tend to hide myself when certain uncomfort is going on, insted of asking for help. I also easily feel ashamed about myself (because of body size for example) or not feel worthy of acceptance, love and caring from others. This video as a reminder I realized that it's possibly the worst conviction I can give to myself to exclude me from all the joy, togetherness and happiness. Usually it isn't about others not accepting you but you not accepting and loving yourself. That is something important to work with. There were so many more wise and enlighting points in your video as well, and good, deep highlights of Finnish culture, too. I believe the nature of Finland has very unique and powerfull healing capasity, although nature anywhere is wise, it nurtures and renews. As I perceive the nature here it truly can be a safe space in many ways. Just have to keep in mind to respect it.

I bawled. Never ever feeling like I, or anything else, is ENOUGH has warped my sense of self and peace and caused tremendous anxiety and sadness. I FEEL it in your voice and experience. I am grateful to follow your experiences and learning and challenging yourself. I hope to have the courage to actual believe in myself some day. I expected others to invite me to the table and when it stopped or didnt happen, I contracted into myself. So much fear. Thanks again and please keep sharing with us!❤

You have described the isolation that plus sized people face and never acknowledge because the pain of not belonging is too great to confront. And on top of this we face the hatred and ridicule of those who refuse to see our pain, but rather blame us for their bigotry. It is a lonely place being a round peg in a square world. You are a wise woman❤️

Sweet, sweet Anna. I am so touched u were able to go somewhere that challenged you with the thought of being enough. Yes, u ARE ENOUGH. I apologize for our society that makes us question this. Back at home we r always running after the quest to b enough, do enough and measure up. Bless the Finland trip and their culture for allowing us to give ourselves permission to be enough just by being ourselves. I think this trip will give u some very valuable anchors for future growth and learning that it's ok to want more, do more, be more but that there is incredible beauty to embrace and be enough exactly right where u r at. U r a beautiful soul, my dear!

Yes. I do this not only because I don’t want to be a burden, I often think people may not be willing to spend any extra time on me. I had a medical crisis a few years ago and didn’t tell many people in my circle about it. I mentioned after the fact to a friend and she seemed genuinely upset that I’d didn’t tell her while it was happening.

I am a person who dreams (literally) , and many times, I get dreams concerning direction for my life or for others, direction or insight into difficulties they may be experiencing. I am old enough to be your grandmother, and I had a dream about you. I was speaking words of affirmation over you and encouraging you. It woke me up, and I carried that with me through the day. I know the dreams with meaning, and this was one of those. When I see one of your RUclips videos, I just speak those words over your life. This video reminded me so much of the dream I had of you. You are on the right path.

I know this is not the message to take from this video but honestly you sitting alone in the corner just to not to make a fuss is The Most Finnish Thing you could have done. We have this saying: "ei minun takia tartte keittää" that we say every freaking time we visit anybody and they offer to make some coffee to us. Now, Finns drink more coffee per person than any other country, so it's funny that our first response is always, you don't have to make coffee just because of me, instead we have to wait for the other person to tell that it's ok since they want the coffee as well. And they always want it also. So just know you were just assimilating here!

That looks like a typical summer cottage vacation, with some added activities. Navigating the forest can be scary at first but you learn to look at the surroundings to kind of figure out where you are. When we go picking mushrooms and berries, the best foraging places are always off the paths so it's best to just wander off into the thick of the forest. Sure, there are bears and moose but they're trying to avoid people.

Having been alone all my life and being size 5X, I have always been afraid of travelling. Having decided to take the plunge and do a Mediterranean cruise while I still can, I had a lot of questions, mainly about the problem of flying. I know that I don’t fit in an economy class seat. And I was also asking myself if I should buy a swim suit for the cruise. But looking at your video, I realized how much I was putting myself barriers and that I should do what I want, not asking myself what others may think. Thank you so much again.

hello and greetings from Finland. I watched an episode of the show you were in and oh, how lucky I am when I found your vlog🤩. I remember you so much and I've often wondered what you're doing these days. Well, now I can follow you on your adventures through this screen. You have done a lot of work on yourself, and there are no small things to think about. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about because I wrestled with the same themes. It is difficult to learn what is enough. especially when there is a lot of pressure around to keep doing. How many times have I heard the words "good, but you can always improve." or "next time try harder, a little better." Yes. I also wrestled with the matter of what is enough for me, for my own coping and that I can be proud of my achievements. Likewise, you can be proud of yourself and your achievements. You are a good person and think broadly about things. I am happy that you have made a lot of great observations about your life and are trying to find balance in your life. I'm glad that you exist, because when I watch your vlog, I also find things about myself that I can pay attention to. Thank you for being ❤️

I cried along with you. What a learning experience you just had! I look forward to watching you "challenge" yourself with new adventures. I hope to learn courage from you through your example. Great video!

This really lands for me and encourages me to speak up and not think new scenarios will go like past scenarios. 🙏🏻💓✨

That “I hate my body” feeling is so real. I’m super nervous about going to Cuba in a couple of weeks on my own and not fitting on the plane seats.

Anna, your doing of the hard things gives me life. For me, not wanting to be a burden = fear of rejection. That someone would help me who felt obligated rather than really wanting to help. That’s the passive aggressive rejection. I have to get past that, because I have the same right to exist in the world as everyone else. ❤

I just want to commend you for your honesty and vulnerability. I know a few years ago you would have never shared this information. I hope you feel the love and support from everyone.

Yes it does, I just wish it was more standard here to respect nature.

@@Lady.Fern. I guess I'm of the opinion that most Minnesota residents care deeply about nature. I feel very lucky to live here.

@@northwoodslife8456 our emphasis on importance of nature during the fundamental years of life and beyond is not strong enough. Some children Ive worked with spent as little as 2 hours a week outside during summer moths. Turning a blind eye to important issue’s doesn’t mean they’re not here.
