I think AoE2 players started with a disadvantage, because, if I'm not mistaken, there was a tournament for them during the Stress Test, so they had less time to experiment with the game. That conversion was a BIG time game winner. Great game. Rus played dirty is scary. You have to commit to playing like a bit of an ass to play Rus well. Steal hunts. Steal units. Spam guns. Lol

To me it seems Theviper is a lot better at his micro than Aussie, but Aussie is a lot better at decission making, taking a lot more time for it, being in his favor.
It is not just the bonuses. You take away the ability of the ennemy to ignore early farms while extending the period of the game where you can ignore farms. Saves alot of woods accelerates your game by an insane amount. Plus the gold you get earlygame makes you also able to delay your gold mining. It is a very good thing the Rus got.
Think about it not in terms of the bonus you get, but the change in resources. You get the gold, progression towards further bonuses and because you wreck the food economy for your enemy effectively cost them wood before they would otherwise want it from farms.

Welp, i took one thing from watching this. And even though my Rus game isnt that bad (i have like a 60% winrate) i still believe my Rus build order and all is trash compared to what Drongo does. But it is helpful. I feel like i gotta put more pressure on getting Scouts out and steal the deers from my opponent and stuff like that. Nontheless, great video, its very insightfull.
how do i enable that star marker above enemy landmarks ? like at 29:33 theres a huge star with a number above the enemy landmark, i dont see that on my games, its something i have to enable, or any hotkey i have to press ?
hey drongo, here's idea; since Rus has speedy monk, do you think you can do something sneaky like converting opponent's wood gatherers (since they are probably numerous), then build stuffs behind their lines. But you need to be crafty with distractions though :>
I really would like rotating buildings feature, if it isn't there already..cause it will look cool, especially when building 6 racks or ranges close to each other..

Basically the RUS get gold for killing animals, they also benefit because since they killed all those animals and the largest herds are 7 animals exactly that means he can just yoink all the meat in the map for himself by scaring off enemy villagers with a rush like that and he can scoop up the lightly used carcasses and take them to his base to butcher for himself which Denies the enemy food and giving him bonus food
I don't understand why they needed to change conversations. Like in the old game it was the best counter against super units like elephants or paladins. Now they made it an aoe so it's supposed to counter what exactly? Big pushes?
To set the game apart from AoE 2. It has similarities but its not the same game. Religious units also have more uses now, to capture the holy sites with some able to buff their units. Relics also have more uses now. Put them in a building for free ressources or keep them in the front for a move that is highly risky bjt really rewarding if successful
Aoe2 originally had it as an entire. It's a risky move but could counter enemies not paying attention (like the walling vills) or pushes while risking relic gold/ resources. You can still convert the old way with one civ

Sure thing. Everyone is paid. I have to issues with the game a lot concerning competitive play. However I still enjoy it and find it refreshing. If the devs listen to players feedback and fix some of the issues the game could become a great one. But yeah everyone is beeing paid that's for sure.

Warrior monks need a toggle to focus heal or attack, mine always just charge in first even before my cav.

Thats only with Abbasid, the civ viper was playing, normally you just go off how many landmarks it says to destroy in the top left
New to AofE. Can anyone provide perspective on how good these 2 are compared to the top players? Top 10 in the world or lower?

@@RogueFriXioN I play on 4K, I tried the 100% but it runs at 40-55fps XD (GTX 1080), but doesen't matter, I tried 100, 1090hd, 50% scale.. nothing :(
