Triple Stack Customer Stole My Tip! Tip Baited or Was He Mad? | Uber Eats Ride Along | DoorDash

  • I was doing some Sunday night dinner deliveries in Round Rock, TX. The orders were coming in hot and usually in stacks or with add-ons. We got a legit triple stack from Uber Eats, but the last leg of the stack pulled his tip.
Do you think we were tip baited or that the customer was mad about being part of three drop-offs?

Tip baited it happens all the time... More so on doordash but I've seen my share on ubereats and I've done ubereats almost 5 years.

I kind of thought that as well, but still thought maybe he was expecting his order a little sooner. I did the best I could with what Uber gave me.

That's all you can do and sometimes it's just not enough for some of these customers out here I'm very professional and everything I do and bring quality and kindness in the more nice you are the more they give you whatever especially their attitude. But just keep doing like you do.

Trayten? His mother must have hated him and he has passed the hate on. Keep up the good work, Biz.

Calm down, Buddy. I appreciate you sticking up for me. Honestly, it means the world to me. However, there is a chance this wasn't a tip bait. He could have been pissed about the order. You never know. We should always give people the benefit of doubt.
You have a lot of great comments and I appreciate you being here. But we should always look for the best in people.

He probably got upset about the delivery waiting time.
Customers don't understand that when a delivery driver is sent multiple customers' order , that delivery drivers cannot choose and pick who gets their delivery orders first.
The app determines the order, delivery drivers cannot rush orders because it depends on many factors which will determine how quickly you get your order and when:
how busy restaurant is, traffic (any road closed or detour because of road construction 🚧), traffic jams, traffic accidents, when each driver was sent the order and how far restaurant is from where they are stationed at time they accepted the assignment request?!
How many drivers are working that day,etc !
Most of times, the wait for customer's order is 10 to 40 minutes.
Don't forget how many locations you have to stop at to pick up each customer's order.
In food delivery customers don't do alot of tip baiting, you have 1 or 2 in grocery deliveries but not with food delivery.
I think customer is upset because he was hungry and was not happy about the wait time.
Also because he got his order last.
But you can not get mad at delivery drivers because they do their best to get the food to customers by promised time but their are many factors out of their control that can push back the delivery time.

I appreciate the reply and agree with you wholeheartedly. Also, Uber doesn't allow you to jump tasks or message a customer until their order comes up. This is one of the only things I like more about DD vs Uber Eats.
