Loved this! And you're so right about reading/collecting. And as someone once said , "books do furnish a room". Just to run my hand over them on the shelf is satisfying. Knowing there are so many I shall never, ever read. Towards the end of his life, an interviewer asked Anatole France, after seeing some 20,000 volumes on his shelves, if he had read them all. To which he promptly replied, "barely one tenth"

I just finished Northanger Abbey and I’m in awe of the edition you have! I’ve already been checking used bookstores for another version than the one I have bc I would not mind in the least having multiple copies of that book. ❤
Watching this, I realized that I'm not a Bibliophile or a collector. I'm a academic 😂 600s and counting, but apart from less a dozen, there's nothing special about them. In summa, it's a research library
finally made it through the biography of a bank by" gianinni" it was stolen cried everytime i made it in the green book it was stolen one story true a man was laboring in the gold fields he finally got enough gold for a lifetime he and others got on a ship headed back home to England the ship was sinking he had the choice to save his gold or a little girl screaming for help he couldn't save both so he let his gold sink and saved the girl she became like a daughter to him and they were a happy family
As soon as the image appeared on my ph screen i was thrilled; pressed to see, hear read her presentation. Regret to say i was very disappointed. Very! Not only did the speaker mumble & swallowed half the words, she spewed... and spewed bowlfulls of platitudes, bombastics & sentimental juvenalia. Paaaleeezz!! I screamed as i pressed the key to silence her. She will turn people off reading, off books. Her tone, her voice is extremely irritating... grovelling, obsequious, flirtatious. Totally inappropriate.
