Es curioso ver a un "décimo dan" no levantar el talón cuando se da un golpe con la mano atrasada, falta de técnica base.

    Well that was underwhelming.
Waffle and kata - two things with no combative value whatsoever.

@Dakota Keeler And sadly, you too are missing the point. The very statement that "Kata is about learning forms, muscle memory and what can be combined with what" is the waffle that I spoke of a year ago and all of the empirical data shows that as a training method, kata has little to no value. Sure, it propagates a "style" but other than having students invested in your "style" and therefore less likely to go off and train elsewhere, what does that achieve?

@@baldieman64 I agree. Instead of Kata you can practice techniques without a partner, like shadow boxing and in a more controlled manner. That helps muscle memory and you are practicing the techniques at the same time. Katas are differentt than the techniques themselves, stresses the practitioner because they have to know the kata for a ranking , a waste of time and totally uselss.

@@eugeniofernandez8101 Practice with a partner is better than solo, even it is co-operative or semi structured drills.
You can gradually increase the randomness and resistance without beating on one another to the point of it becoming injurious.
