As an arsenal fan, this is a time that shows that football doesn’t matter. None of it matters, it’s just a thing we like to watch or play when we’re bored. It isn’t human life. I can’t imagine how his wife his feeling right now who he met at 16 and his 3 kids. They were together for 12 years, and finally got married, but she was only able to experience it for 2 weeks. His brother too. Most people are ignoring him but he also died too and I can’t imagine how his parents feel losing both of their kids on the same night. I’ve watched LFC TV a few times, and every time, i noticed how Diogo seemed like the bridge between the european players and the latin ones. The off pitch vibes always felt so warm, full of love, laughter, and happiness. I’m not even a Liverpool fan, but i love football and everything about it, on and off the pitch. And that’s exactly what i saw in Diogo Jota’s attitude, you could feel it. I can’t even imagine how broken the hearts of the Liverpool players, the fans, and especially his family must be right now. Because just from the few videos i’ve seen, i could tell, Diogo wasn’t just a football player. He was a real, genuine human being.
Today, the football world didn’t just lose a great player, we lost someone who showed us what it really means to be human, a man who loved his partner deeply, with all his heart. Again, i'm not a Liverpool fan, but for some reason, this pain hits really hard. And this has become one of those rare moments where, as a man, i found myself in tears. May God accept all of Diogo Jota’s good deeds. May God give strength to his family.
Rest In Peace, Diogo Jota & Andre.

I'm not a big fan of Liverpool, but this news destroyed me inside. It left me in shock the first time I saw it, and until now I still can't believe it. Let's hope all this is a nightmare🙏🙏🙏

A mother has lost her 2 children. Children have lost their father. A wife has lost her husband. For Diogo and Andre, i can only hope it was instant and no pain was felt. RIP to you both

It’s hard to hold back the tears writing this comment. Diogo, Andre, you both are incredible footballers, people for that matter. Your love for the game and happiness will always be remembered. Some people have lived a long life and haven’t experienced half of what you have accomplished in your short 28 years. You got taken away from the world too quick. I can see you playing in heaven with the greats of football. RIP

As a human hearing this news today, I was (still am) shocked , stunned (still am) .......it was (is) just horrible! Aa a dad of 2 teenage boys, it slapped me even harder, reminding me that we live our lives in moments (only realising it after the fact) ................ words cannot describe/capture or impress how heartbreaking this news is.

I'm from Germany and a huge Liverpool fan. It was my birthday yesterday, and the first thing I read was that Diogo and his brother had passed away. I wish the family, friends, club, and all the fans a lot of strength for the coming period. R.I.P

He was more than just a player to us; he was a valued member of our sports family.
We will always remember Diogo Jota for his goals. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Diogo Jota. You will be greatly missed.

My dad texted me yesterday asking if its true hes not on socials so hes not that informed, he told me it felt like a family member died thats what this club stands for and why we say this means more because it does. I know the fans will forever sing his song on the 20th min and we will never forget him. OUR LAD FROM PORTUGAL

I just take solice that at least in this age of technology his kids will have endless videos to appreciate how great a guy their dad was… it will never replace him but at least they can get to know the person he was through these videos.
