How do you like your Aristides H/08 compared to your Strandberg? I have a Strandberg Standard 6 Tremolo, an have been wanting to get an 8-string, and I thought I was going to get an NX Metal 8, until I came across the Aristides H/08. The two companies share some common traits, such as being forward-thinking and ergonomics. I like the Aristides because it's rare to see tremolo on an 8-string, and Strandberg doesn't offer that. The two input jacks is also very handy as well for different positions. But of course, all that comes at a price.
I like them equally I think, they are very complementary. I think I’ll have a better comparison point once I get a H/07. I haven’t played on a Boden 8 yet but since the scale length are the same on both instruments, my feeling is it will probably come down to the string spacing. The Aristides has a somewhat large string spacing compared to my Boden 7. This can be a good thing depending on the size of your hand. I have been playing a lot of 4 finger shapes recently and they are surely easier to pull off on the 8. The 2 input jacks are very useful, especially since I like to switch back and forth between classical and standard position. I’m overall very satisfied with the H/08, but sure comes at a hefty price, but I’d rather have something I can customize for a 1000 bucks more over a standardized instrument that is also very expensive. I’m probably never going back to non headless guitars for modern style guitars so my pick will stay with Aristides and strandberg as well. I must admit my main jam instrument is still my Boden, mostly because it is easier to play leads on that one. On the 8 I focus more on chords and riffs.
@@RedSkyWhisper Thanks for sharing your experience! Since I already have a Strandberg, I'll probably go for the Aristides, due to the customization options (I'm putting a killswitch on mine). The tremolo on headless 8-string really sold me.
