    You don't have to take the radiator off to remove the water pump. Fan is tight to get off but you can do it. I have a tractor just like it. Your bearing in your waterpump appears to be failing, in the light of the camera it appeared to be rubbing the backing plate on the pump you removed. They aren't supposed to touch. If so you will be in there again soon.

    I take 2 ft peices of pipe , rip a length section out of them , and slide them over the chrome shafts , then lower the bucket load onto the cut tubes , Peice of mind .

    Nothing to do with the water pump but do you know if the crank pulley is reverse thread?

    2240’s are great tractors. My papaw had one basically identical to that one when I was young. The only difference was the loader (he had a 143 loader), but once the tractor was sold off the tractor and loader were split up. What part of the country are you guys in?
