Any recording of a panel that includes Terrence Malick is pure gold! And to add Richard Linklater AND Michael Fassbender makes it ever more amazing! Thank you for recording!
I've never heard Malick speak before...As interesting and engaging as this is [and I'm glad it exists] I almost feel like some bit of mystery is gone. I'm surprised they got him to agree to sit down for this talk.
The Animist I just met the man tonight at a Q and A following a screening of THE VOYAGE OF TIME: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT at the Air and Space Museum IMAX screen here in Washington D.C. The man is clearly very intelligent and also very, VERY shy, but charming and down to earth nonetheless.
thats gotta be a life experience. Ive always been curious as to why hes secluded himself from the public eye. even though I find this unfounded respect for that aspect of him.
yeah, it's almost like the magic is gone. I'm glad I can witness this but at the same time it would be extraordinary achievement to never give an interview in whole career.
When I read people reviews and comments about movies I said to myself most audiences in our time don’t deserve any original movie that have a human experience and emotions,They should only watch fart action and CGI visual content ,Movies made of passion to artists should only be accessible between filmmakers.A private screening
@@kurtrivero368 Hi! I read your comment. Although its pretty old, hopefully, you read my answer. I am glad, that he recorded this event, because a lot of people are really interrested in Mr. Malicks work, and want to understand and use his working method. When decades later some people are going to search about Mr. Malick, this video will help them very much. I hope, other videos will be made. I aggre, that not every videos has to be published urgently. Some of them must kepp save. We must find a good solution.

Everyone here simping Malick's supposed reclusiveness.. if he makes a public appearance at an event then he sure as hell is ready for photographs. Coming from a fan.

Well your name wasn't even mentioned . You shouldn't take every comment too seriously it's an innocent funny remark , actually no one is more thrilled than me.
jesus christ, why are they asking fassbender anything when malick is sitting right there.
best comment

Thank you for this. Malick is one of my favorite directors and his public appearances are true rarity.

Omg he's sitting right there
Why didn't they grab him? He's right there
so crazy to so thoroughly know his soul and mind through his work on screen, then experience the regular person. he is like our father of filmmaking.
It's incredible!
“Michael Fassbender is Asked Questions While Terrence Malick Sits There”
Fixed that for you

i have a feeling after this he might actually show up to panels and ceremonies. but i completely agree with you

So jealous you got to see that in IMAX. I hope the blu ray comes out soon.

One of the most tragic Q&A’s I’ve ever witnessed. That audience should never be allowed to watch a Malick film again.

Isso é uma raridade tamanha que não é possível calcular
As much I love these three filmmakers, this is one of the most awkward conversations I've ever seen in my life
Ok normie
@@JohnSmith-cw1lf nah he's right the questions were terrible
Thank you!

how did you not get booted out of this for recording? lapel camera? hat camera?
However he did it, we OWE him! He risked it all to bring this to us.
One Big Soul No way Malick agreed to this. No way.

You see Malick and you ask him about superhero movies... facepalm
everybody in the audience was filming and taking cell phone pics
Michael Bergeron No they were not. And if they were they shouldn't have been.

Who is the guy in the left?
Mayuri Dutta it is Richard Linklater, a director.
kafardeuse thanks✌
Richard Linklater, moving picture director; he made the underrated "Slacker".
How does Linklater know Malick? Have they worked together in some way on a project?
I think they come from the same region, which is houston, texas.
@@theorz8698 they probably run into each other alot down there
Malick taught Linklater at a film school in Houston actually.
@@anthonycorcino6700 really? are you sure?
This Q&A is so extremely hard to follow, questions are all over the place. This is why most Press Q&As are completely worthless.
Yep…
I am pretty sure Malick didnt want any one to record him. It is kind of a lack of respect for him.

This is like seeing Thomas Pychon signing books. It is disappointing in a way , the whole mystery surrounding him is gone.

btw : what do you mean by "my name wasn't even mentioned" ?
Your reaction was a bit brutal, so i said maybe you thought i was blaming you for this or something. ;-)
