- Bayonetta is back, with a brand new trailer of Bayonetta beating up on a giant Kaiju. In this trailer, we see Bayonetta 3's action gameplay as she dodges and utilizes Witch Time to rack up major combos on her enemies. Bayonetta 3 releases sometime in 2022.

Facts. Interestingly, it was Nintendo who helped Sega and Platinum revive and continue the development of Bayonetta 2. So if Mario didn't step in to help Sonic's fellow mascot friend, there'd be no awesome Ninty exclusive sequels, let alone Bayo join Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U (I remember my fanboy screaming that day). At this point, I see Bayo as an honorary Nintendo character like Sonic.

This could be Little Cereza grown up and trying to rescue her 'mom' (Bayonetta) from death (first Bayo 3 trailer), after all, in the first game, Little Cereza tells Luka that when she grows up she'll be strong too and protect her mummy.
P.s.: Another detail is the 'Verse 7' in all fights here. That may mean this part shown in the trailer can be a transition from the actual Bayonetta to this one (Little Cereza), that is, after a moment in the game, and then after that last scene of Gomorrah and the giant beast right before the bloody moon appear may be the moment it transitions back to the actual Bayonetta timeline. So what does that mean? Maybe we start the game playing the actual Bayonetta, and then after an hour or two she dies, and then we get to this part in this trailer, meaning Cereza will go after her 'mummy'.
I don't know if you remembered, but little Cereza was Bayonetta from the past brought into the present. She was returned to the past after the events of the first game.

If you look at her shadow in this trailer it’s not Madam Butterfly, the demon she’s bonded with from the firs two games. It’s a different demon altogether.
The only way to end a contract with a bonded demon the series is if the witch dies. Clearly this “Bayonetta” isn’t dead.
So this is either Cereza grown up and bounded with a demon other then Madam Butterfly or this a alternate universe Bayonetta.
Bayonetta has to be the most clever and best at 4th wall breaking character to ever exist. NOT TO MENTION, she does everything with class and has this unphased attitude that’s hilarious

Idk about the whole timeline thing that's everyone been on about ,Bayo from 1 remembers her time as Cerezas with Bayo ( and her Dad in 1 is the post traping Loptr from 2) its just 2 time loops since
Bayo will defeat Loptr in 2
-Her Dad traps Loptr in himself in 2
-Dad goes back to the past at end of 2
-Dad becomes evil due to Loptr
-Dad summons Cereza, because evil plan
-the experiences Cereza had in 1 helps to reawaken Bayonetta's memories in the present and she never forgot Bayonetta's advice and continued to wear her Umbran Watch around her chest until she was grown up. When Jeanne tried to seal her away in the past, the ritual failed because of the watch and Bayonetta never lost her memories.
It's all one big time loop bootstrap paradox paradox. Now they could always chnage it, but these are the current facts
@@jaimereyes6943 I honestly just chalk that up to the game being unfinished tbh. There are some details that might need to be ironed out like Bayo’s glyphs changing from purple to red in video and maybe some designs. But the wings, fists, and build like mostly identical to Madama Butterfly

Also, I am very interested in having her demons and summons being physically in the world with Bayonetta fighting alongside her and not just restricted to quick-time events and finishers. I hope that they add in new ones too, and all of her summons. Maybe beforehand you would have to fight/subdue a few to add to your summonable roster. Being able to go back to previous chapters and play around with new demons at your side seems like fun.

It looks fairly similar to how V plays in DMC5, where you directly control what your summons do while they're active. Which is honestly cool as shit.
I think they are considering they're mapped to the Up, Left, and Right buttons and some shots show Bayo walking around while one of her summons is active

That HAS to be Cereza from B1, the hair style, her outfit being reminiscent of Cereza’s dress in B1, different voice, completely different timeline(?) with enemies that don’t look anything like Angels/Demons, different fighting style, even her summoning weave dance is more cheerful & childish. Putting my money on this theory full heartily.
Also the 3 Umbra Sigils overlapping each other is kinda a dead give away to there being 3 present Umbra Witches, and who else to fill the 3rd slot than Cereza herself.

Ninja Gaiden got abandoned after NG3's failure. But DMC series got revived after a whole decade(we don't count DmC here), so maybe there's hope for a NG4. Although i think Tecmo focuses on Nioh now.

Okay theory time! This isn't the Bayonetta we know. This Bayo is Cereza, the little girl our Bayo looked after in the first game; as this Bayo retains the hairstyle she had as a kid. In the game, it is possible our Bayo and Cereza will meet in one joined timeline, as the title card features three Umbra sigils overlapping each other (with the full sigil overlapped by two cresent ones), possibly showing that our Bayo will meet two alternate versions of herself. This is just a theory I thought up now and is not a fully fleshed out one at that, so I doubt if I'm correct.
Edit: I want to clarify something. My theory is that we are seeing an alternate Bayonetta, specifically the younger version who accompanied Bayonetta in the first game but grown up. When I say Cereza, I am referring to the Bayonetta we see in this trailer, and when I say Bayonetta, I'm referring to the one we know from the first two games.

But her name is Cereza; Jeanna, Father Balder, and Rosa (Her mother) calls her that. Bayonetta is more of her combat name.

@@NavySharkz because of bayo's concept of time. Our Bayo (1&2) was actually sealed but Cereza (lil Bayo) lives a different life where she wasn't sealed. So there is a timeline split due to the changes happening.

The same one we know and love but developed different due to a branch in the timelines, thus resulting in TWO Cerezas: The one we know famously who chose the name Bayonetta, and the little girl she saved, herself now grown up into an adult, sticking to her original name of Cereza. Time has always been a running theme in the Bayonetta games, so I'm certain it'll be explained. :)

Phantasmarae, the Bayonetta version of Phantom, is but one of many lava-spitting demonic spiders. She had him as a brief summon in 1 against Sapientia, and a bossfight in 2 when he broke free of her pact-control due to the horrible imbalance between forces.

@@ryan2casey764 platinum games is platinum games, every single release they've had have been stellar and bayonetta is a proven successful and loved series. I have faith. Same with breath of the wild sequel. Cyberpunk was a disappointment for many because of false promises and extreme overhype beyond belief. With bayo and platinum games you know what you're getting, it's the Third in the series.

I’m willing to bet that’s little cereza grown up and we’ll get the bayonetta reveal in game
Theory: This isn't the main Bayonetta we know, but rather little Cereza from the first game:
- she shoots a "P" on the back of one of the enemies, but Bayo shoots a "B" when you hold Y, this could mean she picked a new name for herself (possibly because Cereza is supposedly a childish name)
- Her shadow is not Madama Butterfly's silhouette
- when she goes into Umbran Climax, her look is completely different, she's maybe wearing her demon's outfit as well
- the design on the wrists of her contracted demon are different from Madama Butterfly's
- her voice is completely different and sounds a bit younger than Bayo's
- her moves have less sexual undertones than Bayo would normally do
edit: it's actually not Umbran Climax, but a new feature called Demon Masquerade, it still stands that her contracted demon is not Madama Butterfly

The less sexual moves actually make sense if it is supposed to be cereza. When cereza was watching Bayonetta fighting in 1 it was with a childlike innocence and it's very likely she didn't maintain the sexual nature of it and instead just the gracious movement that Bayonetta often showed. That's why it looks like her moves are more dance oriented and less straight up sexual. While I do enjoy Bayo being sexual I actually don't mind if it is cereza's way of fighting in this one!

The game looks incredible and will probably be a ton of fun, but I can't help feeling a little bit off when it comes to Bayo's new design and VA. It'll take some getting used to but I'm looking forward to it. Also why is Nero at the end of the trailer

Soldiers against angels or demons, i thought they were invisible for normal people. But Bayonetta using her childhood hairstyle is another level of beatiful!!!! and more powerful than before.
I think they're only invisible to normal people because they're in purgatory instead of fully entering the human world at any point. Rodin is a demon but Enzo and Luka can see him.
