Perhaps more on std. Tuning and recommend guitars and set up for slide play? 👍

To save your strings, you could tune your guitar to open "D" then put your capo on the second fret to make open "E". Mississippi Fred MacDowell!

I aint trying to be one of those guys that troll or whatever..but i just wanted to clarify that standard tuning wouldnt be open . Open tuning is when the guitar is tuned to a chord....G or D or E etc you play the strings open and its a chord . the possibilities are vast but standard tuning is when the strings are a fourth apart from each other.....sorry man just trying to help

@@imannonymous7707 cool, and thanks for taking the time to educate me, I was trying to support a request for a new slide video in standard tuning rather than having to retune my guitar. Brain you're sounding really great and I love that guitar and the open E tuning I have Guild Resonator I like to use this tuning a lot because it puts more tension in the strings, sometimes I tune to open G and capo on the third fret but it depends on the guitar set up If I'm using my 63 Strat I tune to G and capo to keep the tension off the neck

    • @imannonymous7707

Open d and capoed to the 2nd fret has even less tension and is still the key of E

Which PU is more suitable for slide? Neck or bridge?
I read the Tele neck PU was built after a lap steel PU which were made for slide. I love that Muddy Waters single coil tone. Which position did he use? I read his guitar Hoss was a 50s Tele. The late 40s early 50s came with PU that were more mid pronounced. Would this be better than a 60s CBS Tele which had more a scooped sound due to the less wired PUs?
Some prefer a heavier HB sound on the bridge for slide like on a Les Paul which Allman used to play.
    Opinions?
