leo was just having fun w this game until minmin came back. if all he wanted to do was win and take home the bag, he would only go joker and sweat all tournament. if you play joker (i do) that is extremely mentally taxing because joker does you almost no favors. you have to do all that cool shit yourself. that sounds like a long stressful hard sweaty tournament. leo is having fun with this and yes he hates losing and no hes not sandbagging but he prioritizes having fun over winning. in almost every loss he was using a secondary. at the end of this tournament he prioritized winning over having fun. minmin i think takes the fun away so if hes gonna have to sweat that hard he wants to fuck you up.

Something I dislike about those who point out to Leo placing 33rd at a japanese tournament, is that they don't give any context whatsoever. That version of MkLeo Joker, was the weakest ever, and by a large margin. Leo had barely picked up joker. See, Joker was released on April 17th, 2019. That Umebura he went to, was on May 1st, 2019. That's ONLY 2 weeks since the character had come out. And considering he attended Pound 2019 (April 19th - 21st), in which Leo went Lucina, Wolf and Ike, and considering it took him time to get ready to travel to Japan, get a place to settle down etc., the man probably had less than 1 week playing with that character. I mean CMON....if anything, it's impressive to get 33rd at a major with little time to use such a distinct character. Whether it was the right decision or not, is a different story.
One of the hardest losses Leo had on Joker was losing 3-0 to Marss at Genesis 7. Just saying because they were talking about his losses on Joker and didn’t mention that
Agreed with pink, dabuz has to commit to min min. Nobody bothers stressing him about it cuz he's not on proto's level, but I mean... he gave lights fox a better run with the character than proto did, he can do it
I used to make fun of Chrom because he looks super generic but once I got decent at the game I realized him potential is only limited by his recovery. He beats most characters in the air and can hold his own on the ground. His one and only flaw is his recovery
Just a thought, but what if Leo plays characters he just likes to reserve mental energy for the last matches of tournaments. Why play the effort intensive joker, when funny byleth go brrrr
Pretty sure that’s the exact reason he ended up putting joker on the back burner in the first place, because to play consistently with joker can be challenging. He has very high highs but his lows can be really low. If you take into consideration how many sets they play at tourneys/how long your day is when you’re consistently reaching winners finals, there’s almost no reason for him to sweat it out with joker when he can play characters that he has more fun playing and still blow the competition out of the water, and keep the joker in his pocket for when he really needs to sweat. There is some truth behind it when people say that Leo’s joker is the final boss of ult, because it takes so much even for top players to make him switch to joker and really try to win (unless of course everybody picks up min-min, then I think we’d see Leo go solo joker lmao)
Still odd that they have regional PGR when people have been going back to in person tournaments for over a year now. They said it was "due to covid" yet they didnt actually release it during quarantine lol. They waited until open tournaments were back, and then released it in regions "because of quarantine"? Really?
Cause there is a merit in keep playing the game in harder times vs harder opponents and the only player that has faced and beat ken armada and zain is mang0
@@danovega armada wasn’t playing overseas when ken was around and armada faced zain and beat him. Being around longer, even if you were good throughout, does not necessarily make you GOAT. Otherwise Dabuz should be a bigger GOAT contender than mkleo bc he’s played longer and has beaten the best of many generations. Which, maybe some people believe, but unless mkleo retires in like a year that’s probably not happening. Speaking of,the way people speak of mkleo now is very similar to how people spoke of armada. Very rarely outside of 1st or second, insanely consistent, fundamentally sound, and a run killer for 99% of players. You understand a players greatness by how they speak of them.
@@scouthatesrainbows you are supporting my point by saying armada couldn't play ken (who was the best at the beginning of melee and one of the goats). If armada could beat him or not at that era we will never know cause it never happened regardless the reason but what we do know and is an actual fact is that mang0 beat him. On the other hand, Armada beat a "younger zain" , not the monster he became years after (peak zain) who had the same consistency as armada with the difference that melee is more optimal as the time passes and thats another argument on mang0's favor. Now a days, mang0 still being a threat, he can beat zain or ibdw who are the best rn. We don't know if armada can keep up with the optimal melee that is played now a days. I mean, m2k tried it and he couldn't do it. But what we do know is that mang0 beat ken (the best at his era), armada (the best at his era) and zain ( the best at his era) all this knowing that melee becomes harder and more optimal as the time passes i think there is no debate being honest. Also mang0 did it using 3 different characters. Puff (ken) falco (armada) fox (zain)
@@danovega How does that support your point? Yes mang0 beat him but the fact that armada didn’t isn’t a matter of skill but of timing, and shouldn’t be held against him. It’s like saying, “well how can we know if mkleos one of the GOATs if he never played Zero during his streak in smash”. As for who mang0 has beaten, yes he has “beaten” the best players of each era, but where’s the consistency? Mang0s run of form in offline tournaments and even before the pandemic has been up and down throughout the years. And yes, he has beaten Zain, but check his record on PGstats. A lifetime 38% winrate against Zain, with a 5 set losing streak. Same 38% winrate against hungrybox. Then look at Armada. Insane winrates across the board, and no losing records to any relevant player he faced. There will statistically never be a player like armada again. To simply dismiss armada’s insane records and accomplishments as just a product of his time inherently dismisses everyone else of that time too. By that merit m2k is dogshit. PPMD was dogshit. Mang0 was pretty dogshit too, because the last years he was indisputably number 1 were in 2013 and 2014, getting onto a decade ago. Has mang0 kept up? Well, sort of. But again, he has never been the terrifyingly consistent force that armada was. If your GOAT argument is simply that he’s played longer and won in all the eras, then sure, a man for all seasons. But stats don’t lie. Also, of course it’s just speculation, but there was no indication that armada would’ve ever fallen off a cliff given his last few tournaments. Lost more? Sure, but if you’re going to take a near decade of consistent excellence and not presume that a guy like that couldn’t beat the best of the current era, then you’re either a gambler or a fool. M2k couldn’t make it because he’s always been up and down, and he’s also just doing his own thing outside of competition aka writing his book
Lucario's Charge shot is SIGNIFICANTLY worse! What are you talking about!? It's only better when he has a RIDICULOUS amount of aura, but normally you don't get to survive and play for long at those super high percentages, and you are stuck with a much weaker charge shot! Literally go into training room and compare it to all the other charge shot characters, it's pretty much the worst one! It's still a really good move, but it's nowhere NEAR as strong or damaging as Mewtwo's, at least until Lucario gets to crazy high percentages. I would be happy to see the Wadi Lucario as well, though. I'd like to see more Lucario's in general.
@@hatboi124 I agree. It is worse by comparison. I think in a meta where trading hits matters, Lucario objectively will be better long term because he can live longer than Mewtwo anyhow due to weight. I think people look at Lucario as a disadvantage characther instead of playing him normally with being able to live to 120+ in advantage with Rage and Aura still existing. Its scary in that situation and he’s also constantly able to buff his recovery and low recover from just about any distance. And even without rage a half charged shot still does around 15+. I dunno, just food for thought but I do agree with you! Edit: Take my like as well
Can someone tell them that just picking up multiple characters doesn’t automatically assures results Tweek change’s characters constantly and he’s not winning any big pleasings
I am curious how the entire Smash community, including Melee, feels Leo ranks. Zero had that huge streak in Smash 4, Armada has his era in Melee then you had Mango and Hbox. How does Leo compare in his dominance to them? I personally believe he is the most consistent of all time in Smash and for that reason I would put him at #1 over all.
No, you’re wrong. Someone actually made a video about it and concluded that both ZeRo and Armada were more consistent than he was. ZeRo had his 56 tournament winning streak, was number 1 on every PGR and actually had a winning record on everybody. Armada was a dominant top 5 player for like a decade and during that time only lost to like 10 different people. Leo is good and up there, he just isn’t that good
@@gameandflogchannel ZeRo is less consistent than Leo was - ZeRo placed below 2nd pretty frequently after the first year of smash 4, and his “56 tournament winning streak” included almost 50 locals.

We had a lot to talk about this episode, and I didn't want to go into a deep dive about it

Y’all gotta get someone to cut up and release clips from the podcast! Like that MKleo segment for example. If you released a little click bait titled vid 10mins of just that segment I bet you’d slowly rack in a lot more viewership and bring in new people :) much luv!
Dabuz needs to try icies. They just seem like a Dabuz type of character.
Now we await the return of Tweek Pokémon trainer.. along side Mkleo Joker?.. the timeline we are all waiting for.
I also want to see WaDi go back to the Wii Fit. But his Mewtwo is indeed very good
Listen, just because a top player wants to play what they want, doesn't mean they're stubborn.
Hope tweek diddy plays elegant Luigi in smash con to the set tie breaker
Tweek vs MkLeo is one of those matches I’m waiting once again!
Leo is on currently on his Scorpion master mode
leo was just having fun w this game until minmin came back. if all he wanted to do was win and take home the bag, he would only go joker and sweat all tournament. if you play joker (i do) that is extremely mentally taxing because joker does you almost no favors. you have to do all that cool shit yourself. that sounds like a long stressful hard sweaty tournament. leo is having fun with this and yes he hates losing and no hes not sandbagging but he prioritizes having fun over winning. in almost every loss he was using a secondary. at the end of this tournament he prioritized winning over having fun. minmin i think takes the fun away so if hes gonna have to sweat that hard he wants to fuck you up.
Leo looked happier winning doubles with big boss than singles with joker 🤣
Joker does you no favors, meanwhile half the match your bair kills at 60 and is the size of half the stage
@@Shimorta if you lose to a joker that has no tech skill at all and just spams bair then youre actually just garbage. something tells me you can relate tho. maybe youre just pretending to be dumb but theres a reason leo is the only regularly attending top player with a joker thats been successful. top players themselves will tell you how precise you have to be with joker 🤦🏾♂️
@@Cashmoneez im saying 😭😂
Leo’s Joker is literally the final boss of smash.
Shinymark was AMAZING!!!
Gluto playing Roy or Wolf or Min Min is sad from a spectator perspective, his Wario is the hypest of hype and the others are cookie cutter, but I think he's been having a tough time since he won his first US major
He gotta counter pick somehow. I get that ppl like Gluto's Wario but if counterpick can help him win then I dont see why people should be sad about it
The Leo effect
@@kiukyu4671 gluto is a different case i think because his entire MO is being clutch in last stock situations when Wario is against the wall, and it's hard to have the confidence to be clutch if you're also thinking about counter picking

if you guys are keeping up with One Punch Man manga... Leo is pretty much Saitama.
He's bored of winning but he's also nearly untouchable
I really hope heading into the fall dabuz has a better mindset and FINALLY stops auto losing to light and leo.
He’s so fucking close.
He’s never close vs leo
@@voodooedits785 thats not what I’m saying.
Wish I got to see Marss try to keep his title at smash factor since he won the last one over Leo. Now I just hope Marss returns to his peak or goes beyond.
He won’t. He’s a content creator now.
It was only a matter of time till MK got a win, and aba of all people holy moly. It’s only a matter of time till MKleo plays him again. Also great video guys and thanks
Yea i hate it when people point that out because I’ve seen people say that if Leo went to Japan, he would get destroyed which is obviously false.
leo goes joker once the entire day and everyone is just plastering joker on the posters and thumbnails is kinda funny
I mean can you blame them? He literally got the character nerfed, for how well he played joker!
One of the hardest losses Leo had on Joker was losing 3-0 to Marss at Genesis 7. Just saying because they were talking about his losses on Joker and didn’t mention that
They mentioned Marss has beaten him before, they didn't specifically mention Genesis but it was obvious what they meant.
Another hard loss was prodigy at frostbite… surprised it wasn’t mentioned
Marss on the podcast when?
"Diet Fundies". I dig the concept
Haz killing that promo, get that add revenue boys
Gav'N noir tweek
Agreed with pink, dabuz has to commit to min min. Nobody bothers stressing him about it cuz he's not on proto's level, but I mean... he gave lights fox a better run with the character than proto did, he can do it
Proto went last stock last hit with light 2 of the 3 games.
And Dabuz took a game lol
^
proto used lucina for like 3 games too I think
Im so happy haz is back 😭
Ramin would've 100% got murdered if he played Sheik vs Skyjay. Idc how bad the matchup's supposed to be. It just wasn't happening
Really?
This episode should be called the return of Haz
Much bigger deal imo
What's up everyone its Tavin or Gweek
36:10 This conversation is why I’ll never get why people rate mang0 over armada. Consistency is king
Cause of what Mango represents.
Gotta say it. Tweek lookin 💕CUTE💕
EPISODE 60 INCOMING!
No one talked about Larry in the top 40
Missed you Haz
I’m just waiting for Wadi to pick up Lucario. Literally does what Mewtwo can do without a tail and also has a good and even better charge shot
Edit: Take my like as well
Weird that the title advertises the return of Leo Joker instead of Hazardous Matt 🧐
Can someone tell them that just picking up multiple characters doesn’t automatically assures results
Tweek change’s characters constantly and he’s not winning any big pleasings

They were talking about his placements after he picked up Joker.
bruh what if this podcast was what jinxed leo
Leo is good and up there, he just isn’t that good
Leo over ZeRo, under Armada / Hbox / Mang0 - it’s extremely difficult to put him over the non-PPMD gods for sheer longevity reasons
@@gameandflogchannel ZeRo is less consistent than Leo was - ZeRo placed below 2nd pretty frequently after the first year of smash 4, and his “56 tournament winning streak” included almost 50 locals.
@@gameandflogchannel Link to video?
He isn't more consistent than Armada. Only losing records Armada has are against 2 players he only played once.
I love Tweek and I support him but man is it rough to be a fan of his sometimes. He changes his mind every week. Last week he said Seph was his favorite, and that he would not stop maining him, and this week he's maining aegis... I'm all for the aegis secondary. Easy character, low maintenance, covers a lot of matchups. But please don't drop Seph. His Seph is art, it's so beautiful to watch and he worked hard for it! He's his most consistent character right now.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be toxic here, I still support him and he can do wathever he wants, but man that would be such a waste!🥺
Tweek will make any character he touches art. Have faith
@@mourning_sun_ You're absolutely right, but as you can see on my profile picture, I want the Seph, not just any character lol. His Aegis will surely be really good, but the character is too simple and lacks sauce. Perfect secondary though.
