Thanks for keeping your channel grounded and I’m glad to see your not going “downhill” like some other SXS channels… 😂 seriously great content I appreciate it.
I just wanted to come on here and say. I'm subscribed to all the big sxs channels on RUclips and you guys are by far my favorite! You guys should be way bigger than you are. I love all your content. Keep up the good work!
I own a 2018 X3 RC Turbo (120hp) with 5k miles. I'm a "normal" rider...ha ha. I've had the same experience with my X3...control arm bushings, wheel bearings (rear's were actually still good), and LF lower ball joint. Broke my front sway bar end link in the Creek Trail, WV so I removed my front sway bar and never looked back. I also had an issue with lower bulkhead plate where the captured nuts came loose and I could not tighten lower control arm bolts. Other than noisy cabin and poor front visibility I have no other complaints. I have all the power I need, solved the cabin noise with Rugged Radio's headsets. Love the channel, looking forward to future videos.
I have a 21 xrs rr max, and I can not complain about smart lok at all. It has made a lot of complaining noises with 35s, but (knock on wood) it's still kicking just fine.
I’m at 8k miles and i gotta say we are about equal on everything you said ! I gotta be close to Scott , I’m 45 min from bfr and an hour away from Kittanning, and 7 miles from the piney rail riders trail head in Sligo. Ever need anything while your at bfr i got the garage and all clutch tools.
Few things first is my vote for Ivy Branch. Next what place will be featured in your next riding series? And last when/if you upgrade would you stick with the smaller machines or go to 72in like Scott? Keep up the great work guys your my favorite UTV channel since you do outlaw trails.
Thank you, next up is some new wellsville videos. If I upgrade I honestly think I’ll stick with a 64. There hasn’t been somewhere I couldn’t go because of my width and I’ve been able to go places wider machines couldn’t because of my width. The only downfall I see with the 64” is that they don’t handle the serious offcamber spots as well. 64s also have stronger suspension and axle components because there is less leverage on those parts. Axles, a arms etc.
As far as sight line out of the machines, have y'all ever looked into seat risers, they come in 1", 1-1/2" and 2". I know with the cages you may not have a lot of head room, but I think it would be looking into.
We have. Sheri used to have risers but we removed them for the lower cage. The site line doesn’t really bother us anymore but I’m sure other folks wouldn’t like it.
Thank you for the reply, I am looking at a DS RR for my wife and I to get out it, I love all the trail videos y'all do showing how capable a "stock" machine on 32"s really is, please y'all keep up the great videos. I'd love to see more POV cab views in future videos
Jesse, have you guys thought about making a video about your riding style. Like what gear you run, what 4x4 selections you choice for the different types of climbs you make? I learn a lot from you guys. Thanks
@@TheCanAmCrew I’m upgrading soon trust me I debated it I just can’t get used to that seating position I sat in one I still support y’all I watch all your vids
@@Ohiocanamx3 I hear ya. The seats are adjustable to a certain extent but even then the site line isn’t the best haha. Doesn’t matter what machine you have really, as long as you can get out and enjoy the trails is all that matters
@@Ohiocanamx3 yeah. The view out of the X3 is the only minor complaint I’ve got. The seats are definitely adjustable and they make extended taller mounts for them.
So something I never noticed before with your rigs is that you don't have gated shifters except for Scott's machine. I would think with the kind of riding you do you would for sure have them. Plus you can-am folks have it kind of nice with very affordable ones... lol Mine ran me about $300 but worth every penny. The other thing, and I think I commented on it before with you guys is I am also surprised you haven't installed a clutch kit. I think installing one would really surprise you with the difference they make. But I would suggest if you do, don't get one of the mass produce style kits. Go with one with adjustability with weights to help really dial it in. I swear by Adam over at QSC clutches. Night and day difference with my machine running his kits....but just my 2cents... lol
I have a 2022 XRC model on 35" stickies. What's the best way to try an prevent smart lock issues? Lock the diff when crawling and not letting the system switch back and forth? Thanks.
Honestly there is no way to avoid it unless you don’t ride hard. If you plan to ride hard it will go. Avoid being on your side. That’s when Scott’s went most of the time. Side load transferred into the side gear that meshes with the diff is the most common failure type. Being a 2022 it has bigger side gears but I’ve still seen it happen. If you don’t ride where you need momentum to get you through or your layed over on your side still trying to move you will probably be ok.
@@TheCanAmCrew I like to do similar riding as you guys do. I like to push the limits so hopefully I get a good life out of mine haha. So with Scott's being welded up front, is that pretty equal to the diff being locked 24/7?
Just bought a 2023 x3 ds do you guys run a front gusset plate or shock tower brace I do very light trail riding my wife makes me stick to the blue trails.
No, we won’t run a gusset kit for a few different reasons. One is if your not jumping it like in the dunes it’s not necessary. 2 is the fact that we are in to the diff and a arms quite a bit with our riding style and a gusset kit turns that type of job into a few hours rather than 30 mins.
We are all on stock clutching. We did replace the slider shoes once on ours a few thousand miles ago. We made a video of us doing that. Aside from that. All stock.
@@TheCanAmCrew oh, I see y'all with a lot of erratic throttle, never just easy throttle where tires slowly rotate. Thought it was your machine, every can am that rides with us can't ease up to anything and is very jerky. Didn't know if you had thought about a fix
@@TheCanAmCrew oh ok , never have a problem turning my wheel, my power steering will slide the front over sometimes when I am beside a rock. Thank God for a good power steering.
@@timjeffreys6855 you must have a better than most unit then. I don’t know anyone that has a fully locked diff say is ok to steer. We ride with a couple pro rs and they all day when they are fully locked it’s hard. The smart lok, visco and rzr guys won’t experience that because they don’t have a mechanical locker. Pro r, KRX and halo 30s are all mechanical lockers making the steering a lot stiffer.
I read in another comment that you run 4/3 offset, do you also run spacers? And I know you said they are both 64 inch machines but what is the actual width of the set up that you are running?
Great video Jesse👍🏻. It’s really incredible how tough these machines are especially with the type of riding y’all are doing. 9k miles just awesome!! I have a couple of questions…I bought the tool to grease my wheel bearings. Do you grease your wheel bearings also?? I’ve heard different opinions on this. You also mentioned greasing the axles?? Thanks Good Job Crew 👊🏻
There's literally no reason to grease wheel bearings. They're pre greased and sealed. The grease doesn't go anywhere and it doesn't break down. The bearing will fail long before anything happens to the grease. The only exception is Polaris. A new bearing you could add a few squirts.
Great work! I'm working on getting my machine Can Am Crew worthy. If you were to upgrade would you stay with 64 or go 72? I always wondered how Scott like the 72?
A sloppy steering wheel. But if you haven’t go back and watch our video on some upgrades we did. We show the rack and the steering stem that wore out causing the steering to be sloppy.

9000 and no issues not having the gusset kit? I've heard a couple people say it's a must, but with that kind of miles and with the riding yall do, I'm second guessing even getting it and using that money elsewhere.
We won’t run one for a few reasons. If you plan to jump them in the dunes you would probably benefit from one but for us we see no need. One of the main reasons being we are breaking diffs and hard on a arms and bushing etc. when you have a gusset kit on the front end it makes working on them a nightmare. Especially on the trail. We can have a diff out of our machines in 30 mins. With a gusset kit your looking at a few hours. The downtime is what I don’t like.
