Ahh, Spanish Eyes, this was my late mums favourite song by you. I nursed her for eight years until her passing in 1994. I managed to take her one last time to Spain in October 1993 ( we lived in Devon), by then she was very ill and wheelchair bound but I shall never forget one night sitting on the balcony of our hotel in Tossa De Mar looking out over the sun setting and listening to this on a warm autumn Spanish evening, it was I realise now a perfect way for her to say goodbye to her beloved Spain. Like you Enge she was born in India to an English couple, born in Murree but soon moved to Bangalore and went to school at Bishop Cottons. I fulfilled a promise to find my grandparents graves in Bangalore and scatter her ashes around them in 1994 so she is back home. Thank you Enge, you gave us so many happy memories.
My memories are overwhelming. My father used to record your shows on cassette tape every week. All the songs are ingrained in my memory. We played the tapes over and over for a lifetime. Love you Englebert. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Mary, Although I love so many things about Engelbert, such as his breathtaking voice, beautiful green eyes, fabulous smile, and delicious looking lips, I have always thought one of his best features were his magnificent hands. I have been mesmerized by them since I first saw him. Those gorgeous hands allow him to express himself while he sings, like no other singer can!!!!

Can't tell you how much I enjoyed the first show! Were they only shown in the UK? I live in the U.S. and don't recall seeing them. It's fabulous to see real entertainment again!
It was shown in the US starting the end of 1969 through some of 1970; every Wednesday evening on ABC-TV at 10PM. I remember well because it’s the only school night I was allowed to stay up late!! 🥰
I remember seeing the show here in Canada from U.S. ABC-TV. My Parents were big Engelbert Humperdinck Fans and they watch it. The first album of his they bought was A Man Without Love in the Summer 1968 along with Tom Jones Live At The Talk Of The Town recorded January 1, 1967. They went to all Engelbert Humperdinck's shows when he performed in Niagara Falls NY, The Melody Fair nearby and when he performed at the CNE in Toronto back in the 1970s along with a few of Tom Jones shows .
Hats off to the very underrated Reed and Mason who wrote so many of Engelbert's major hits. As well as Tom Jone's "Delilah" and Petula Clark's" Kiss Me Goodbye". They did for quite a few what Bachrach and David did for Dionne Warwick.

I did this sometime ago and replaced alot of your old LP's I lost years ago when I got my first CD Player. I hope you do this again next week. It's really fun to watch your old shows. I have been a fan of yours since I was a teenager and still love your music today. P.S. Johnny Reid was in Halifax, NS this week and I saw him perform. I love his music too.

Hi, Engelbert -- I just watched your second episode and loved it once again. I agree it's very easy to find your new releases and some of your oldies but goodies. I did this sometime ago and replaced alot of your old LP's I lost years ago when I got my first CD Player. I hope you do this again next week. It's really fun to watch your old shows. I have been a fan of yours since I was a teenager and still love your music today. P.S. Johnny Reid was in Halifax, NS this week and I saw him perform. I love his music too.

Increible cuando vi ese episodio en 1970 en venezuela , por Venevision, trasmitido a color aunque pasarian mas de 8 años antes de que se implatara el sistema . solo algunos q tenian tv a color disfrutaron de esos programas asi como los partidos de baseball en la Gran Carpa...
