While that is true, it's also important to keep in mind that the specimen is a single piece of a jawbone, so any size estimate is just that, an estimate, a very rough estimate. I would not be surprised in the slightest if it turns out to be way smaller.
It would be cool to see Ichthyotitan (or at least a giant Triassic ichthyosaur) make a canon appearance in the Jurassic films, even without oversizing them they could give Jurassic World's Mosasaurus a run for its money
7:40 This mod is so good and makes me want to have more creatures from before the dinosaurs and maybe someday Ice age creatures even more in the game!!
I enjoyed reading about Icthyotitan earlier this week! I’m hoping they find/confirm more fossils for it, because as impressive as its jaw is, the rest of its skeleton must be spectacular…
I'll always be up for more sauropod mods, but there's something endearing about the animations when you put neosauropod models on Nigersaurus/Amargasaurus frames, shaking their heads about like they've had too much coffee 😁
Some more fun mod additions this week! Learning so much with the fun facts - and the fictional creatures are always interesting, too. Thank you, mod makers!
I think you missed out something important about the 82 foot estimate of Ichthyotitan: It was based on a specimen that wasn't even fully grown!
If I had a penny for every time a large extinct animal was described as "not even being fully grown," I'd be the richest man in history.
@@CTY547Apparently either most prehistoric animals died young or only their skeletons preserved.
@@Jurassiccanonkingmight be that both are true 🤷🏾♂️

How would we know if something is “fully grown”

I'll pay for asmodeus swimming lessons
BBC’s Lio is in shambles that there’s actually a aquatic reptile reaching 25 meters😂
But in a way, I suppose you could say that marine reptiles as a whole COULD (emphasis and caps on could) reach the size of an average blue whale.
