Can it switch off fuel to some cylinders to make it economical when the driver is low on cash?
Wish it had a lil bit more spark, Front lip different spoiler, diffuser just something…looks like any other is350
So sad we can't get this in the UK
I wonder if itslips and cuts power over road undulations at speed, similar to the ISF. Seems like it would be more suited to the street than the track. Looks great though.
Currently have a g37 but I have the goal to get this or a mustang in march 2026. Gonna get a second job and let the direct deposits stack up and not even check my account until 2026
It’s kinda slow in comparison and the infotainment system is dated but it’s a beautiful car. I was considering this over my 2017 F80 M3 maybe….
Funny i have that same exact steering wheel in my 04 and 02 GS300 😂
Is rwd?
i wish there was such a thing as a modern day lexus with a 6mt. but i guess there’s nothing luxurious about shifting gears yourself
Here in EU it's priced similarly to M3 so it's a no-brainer to pick M3.
I love these interiors.
You didn't show the actual work of the gauge cluster
Doesn’t the gauge cluster also completely shift to the side to show some information as well??
Bro what’s the differ between the LC500 and whatever that car is
When you talk about high end engine model car, how about engine sound?
I don’t know how they’ve kept that interior looking the same for years. It looks dated on the inside but amazing on the outside. I’m sure it’s amazing to drive though.
Just put a detuned V8 of the Lexus IS500 without the hybrid on the new Supra and people would be absolutely thrilled about it
Needs a way better transmission to be an M3 competitor.
Why can't Lexus make a manual for it? It would sell
Not every car can be a manual man, I’d take it as is any day, and that’s coming from a die hard manual driver
@@gibsonf06 in fact, yes they can.
@@iq6840 they can, but maybe they shouldn’t because the market is so small. No one is looking for a manual sedan these days unless it’s a charger
@@avidjasonenjoyer2001 well the weaker chromosomed generation just doesn't understand them. Very sad.
@@iq6840 how unfortunate
That N/A V8 is just 😍😩
I went to a dealership to take a look at one and they said they didn’t have any and where waiting on a few arrivals. We got down to business and they marked it up $15k for a total of 98k
Damn near an LC500
Report them and move on to another one
Damn that’s crazy😢
Dealers have to go
There’s one at my dealer for $67k rn 2023 is 500 f sport in grey with 15 miles on it
@@Poopymattyt that’s OTD Right?
Red Lexus just hits different
Interior cluster and steering wheel are years behind and it’s too heavy/slow. There’s a reason you don’t see these much
I was seriously considering one of these but i can't justify the price for a 10 year old interior. I keep my cars for 6-8 years usually. I won't be able to stand driving a 15 year old interior 5 years from now. It already looks super dated. Sure the engine is great and the car will be reliable, but damn i wish Lexus was willing to invest in the IS and give it the new RX interior. But of course they didn't because of the new electric IS coming out. Such a shame. The car could have been perfect.
They could have borrowed interior resources from the Lexus LC or the discontinued Lexus GS. They didn't because they're too cheap and greedy to do it.
Is the ISF coming back ❓️
As much as I love the V8 here. The M3 is still the better driving car. AWD and RWD when you want it. The Lexus interior is pretty dated, also no manual. And a race chip on an M3 would put the IS to shame in performance.
BUT That V8 sound is heavenly. Also obviously that Lexus are just amazingly reliable.
Why I would buy this any BMW over this Lexus is beyond me. Over 400 horses is enough for me. I am not a car racer. I prefer comfort and reliability over straight sportiness. Makes sense to have a fast ,sporty, comfortable car over an aggressive, loud ,full sports car,in my opinion. Besides a Lexus is cheaper to buy and maintain anyway. This has always been a no-brainer to me.
i just wish the interiror is upgraded, dnt get me wrong, it looks so nice but at the same time its more than 10yrs old
yea but the only downside for this car is its limited what you can tunne and modfy in this car
People sleep on the RCF too
I’ll take a manual M3 any day of the week, twice on Sunday! The fun factor on back roads is insane.
The IS 500 will last a long time and not lose substantial value
@@alanthepianoman no doubt. Agree 100% as far as dependability and depreciation. But when it comes to having fun in the twisties, a 6 speed M3 is hard to beat.
Does it have a cd player? Thats weirdly oldschool already
Is that a CD player? In 2023? I wish i had this car 😅
In all honesty if they made an IS500 AWD I would buy it. But I'm sticking with my G80 xDrive.
Can’t compare genesis to Lexus bruh
@@briand.5321 lol he's talking about his bmw m3 (g80) is the body code.
@@rhenzlemuel09 lmao facts I thought genesis immediately
@Olympus God you should eventually grow out of top tier performance as your primary focus and appreciate higher quality, reliability, durability and design-all things BMW lacks
@Olympus God having owned a Genesis and Lexus, they don't compare in quality and reliability. Not to mention the dealer experience. Hyundai dealers are not good at all. I sold that Genesis in less than 2 years, not a great experience.
this thing is tough
Basically unchanged since 2014 but thats not a bad thing, if it aint broke
Can‘t get those in Germany unfortunately
What a cool car, although bit of a shame it revs only to 6k rpm.
Quad tips crazy
Squeezed TF out of the engine in there!!! 😂😂😂
Great car for 475 hp for 80k fully loaded. Cheaper then the lc500
Love lexus for the reliability but that does not look better than a m3 and does not perform better than a m3 let alone a m340i with less hp
test drove this and the 340i the other day. Hate to say it, this car is very underwhelming. Shame it looks so much better than any other car in this segment. Surprisingly, It even sounds worse with that v8 which is mind boggling (the lc500 sounds brilliant, one of the best). The 340i drives better, handles better, better interior, etc. Hence, I went ahead and ordered an LC500, no regrets.
Such a shame we didn't get it in Europe and no one knows whether we will at all
This is in no way an M3 competitor. An M340i is a much more realistic comparison. Unless you’re really going to keep the car longer than 5 years the M340i is superior in every way.
I don’t disagree but it’s crazy that that’s where we are. People don’t expect to keep a car longer than 5 years. It’s nuts.
I'm done with unreliable, over priced maintenance and unnecessary sensors in these bmws..the bmw is now a sensitive computer on wheels..the older ones from the 90s were the real driving machines..I just need sleek looks, simplicity and reliability when buying car 😅
Third gen IS dates back to 2013 and the v8 is a generation older again. This thing is literally two generations behind the m340i
Yeah no. Don’t get me wrong I love this car for the sound and style, but that transmission is so ancient it ruins the car.
The transmission is almost as snappy as a DCT, you just never experienced it or seen someone who knows how to utilize it.
@@yousef.al-assaf This is what I mean ruclips.net/video/H7NNjZsmbIg/видео.html
@Cole
I have seen this video, and that's exactly what I am talking about.
This guy was shifting it with half a throttle thinking it's gonna be quick. It simply won't.
To get snappy shifts, you need:
- Full throttle
- Redline
- Manual mode
- Traction off
Watch AutoNL's ISF video, since he knows his stuff unlike these "reviewers".

@@Regardforknowlage
One more thing, if you are above 4-5K RPM, it won't shift till it's close to the redline since it thinks that you want more power, and peak power is at 7100 RPM
That’s crazy they still have an CD player
They just need a refreshed interior
Lexus is way better quality than any other manufacturer
I don’t know why anyone even compares this car to any BMW, Audi or even the Korean automakers. It’s pointless. This car is totally unique and appeals to a totally different market than any of those cars. These other cars are turbocharged, balls to the wall performance. The IS500 is an experience that centers around that naturally aspirated V8.
I can’t decide between this or a G80 M3. No manual option for the Lexus might be a deal breaker for me
g80 m3 not even a question. Lexus doesn’t have a car to rival the m3.
As soon as I payback my student loan, I am getting thisss! hopefully
Rather have an Infiniti Q50 Red Sport, just as fast 0-60, 4.5 sec, looks better and has AWD and a back seat that fits adults
15 years old V8 engine and 15 years old IS body style for $70k.
Yes. And it doesn’t break
