Hello again!! My little girl 5months playful and active puppy everytime we're going out as soon she sees somebody on the street she jumps over the person so excited. At home I'm doing the training to sit and give her a treat to reward and she is doing well. What should I do when we're out??? How can I do to calm down and not jump to others??? And don't feel much confident to let out the leash 😔😰 what can I do? Thank you so much for your precious time to
@@yamileeknezevic there's a couple things my wife and I had success with. Both of which you have to be calm cool and collected. Your pup is going to be excited and if your stressed and/or excited your pup will escalate. Your best bet is to divert your pup's attention. Turn around or change direction and lure your pup to heel by either your left or right side with a treat, hold it in your hand with your fist closed and walk. As soon as you the dog's attention and it's side by side reward with a treat. The other tactic is to keep walking, don't stop, slow, or speed up. Act like everything is normal, and repeat the technique with the treat by your side to get your pup to heel. The goal is for your dog to understand that everything out there, people and other dogs are normal and all the attention needs/should be on you. This takes some time, puppy's attention spans are short. You'll have good walks and dificult walks, as long as you are consitent and calm, while your dog matures, you'll start to get the results you want. As far as the jumping either outside or inside, that can be troublesome because your dog is going to be big. Dog's show affection and playfulness by jumping up on people and sitting in them. The best way to fix the jumping behavior is to stick your knee out and say "uh uh" we say that instead of "no" because dogs hear "no" all the time and we didn't want ours to associate a commonly and often used word with bad behavior when they're not doing anything wrong. I also recomend turning around and ignoring them, this will calm them down. Dogs love attention, and sometimes they don't realize that you are not playing with them when you're trying to correct a behavior. Ignoring them and turning around is very effective. Same as the above though, stay calm, be consistent, don't yell or atleast try not to, puppies can be aggravating.... lol Anyways, hope this helps
What happens if they see a squirrel? They run to kill it?
Yes, if off leash. They've managed to kill a couple unsuspecting dumb squirrels and a pigeon while in leash
