I've got all the golds on GT on the PSX so here's a tip in how to improve your times. If you are stuck on a licence test, divide up the course into sections based on the corners- Corner 1, Corner 2 and so on. Take the sections systematically and compare your times with the times Rufus Johnson achieved at the same point in this video. If you find you are coming out of a section slower than Rufus work at the problem systematically and logically. Pause this video and repeatedly watch what Rufus is doing (I kept the video open beside me on a laptop, smart phones are too fiddly for moving back 1 second and rewatching a moment). Look at Rufus's starting position going into the corner; when does he brake, are there signs to brake at to guide you; how long does he brake; when does he turn; does he let the car glide or quick tap acceleration; what line does he take when exiting a corner. After you have Corner 1 perfected move on to Corner 2 and work on your time there in the same manner. To achieve gold on some of the licence tests the tolerances are wafer thin. To get gold you will have to learn to repeat the section perfectly. So look out for markers to tell you when to start executing a manoeuvre. For example on test A-1 when you accelerate from the start there are three yellow signs on the right side of the track. On the PSX the moment the second sign leaves the screen if you quick count to 3 and then quick tap left twice you will take the corner just touching the edge of the red and white kerb - the most perfect and fastest line possible. If you do it perfectly you can exit Corner 1 with a very slight drift to the right which will bring the car gradually to the right side of the track where you can straighten up with the car's right tyres just on top of the dashed white line - which is the line to take into Corner Two. On Corner 2 there are three yellow signs on the right side of the track. Just before the second yellow sign (50M) you release the accelerator and slam on the brakes and then turn left. By the third sign (25M) you should have almost reached the centre line of the track which is when you release brake (brakes are released at about 23.400 seconds on the ingame clock, 22 seconds on the RUclips video) and quick tap accelerate to get round the corner then full accelerate up the hill. If you watch closely, you will see at 24.600 seconds in the video (23 seconds on RUclips) that Rufus's slowest speed in Corner 2 is 98km/h. If you are dropping slower than that you are doing something wrong and you will not be getting gold. In Corner 2 there is a lot going on and it is easy to get overwhelmed but keep working at it methodically. Get the racing line, then get the braking point, then the turning point, then the brake release point, then the tap accelerate phase into full acceleration. A final tip, I've timed it and I couldn't find any advantage to not red lining the car on the starting grid. So don't torture yourself trying to shave off 0.05 of a second by tapping accelerate below the red line during the count down.
This first mission is the exact same reason why I fell in love with the Toyota Supra. I was a kid in my 9 or 10 years old and can't just explain the admiration I've got developed for the Supra as a kid. I loved how it sounded and how the lights reflected in the car shapes... It's funny coming here like, 15 years later, watching this and being teleported to those saturday evenings where the only thing I did was playing this. Thank you Gran Turismo!
I just finished doing all golds in A Licence, and here's what I think are the easiest to the hardest A-7: Pretty self explanatory. Outside of some tests from Gran Turismo 5 and 6, this is the easiest test to get gold in the series in my opinion. A-6: Wasn't too bad either. Took a couple of tries but the time was still generous enough. A-2: I think it was the fact that the straight wasn't as long or as wide as the other 2 "Advanced Cornering" that I was able to adapt rather quickly. A-5: I thought it was going to be very hard thanks to Gleiber's video, but using Manual transmission and slowing down faster in the 2nd corner makes this medium difficulty in my opinion. A-8: I didn't see many people complain about this test, and I can see why. I still found it hard, but doing the 2nd Hairpin correctly can make up for the very hard 1st Hairpin A-4: the 2nd Corner is very hard because I can't bump into the corner on the inside but I still can't do 50MPH, and it was very tricky determining the exit speed of the last 2 corners. A-3: The Track is VERY wide, so trying to find the right speed and driving line on the hairpin was very hard to do because the track was too spacious to figure out. A-1: I hate this test. Having it as the first test in the A license and making it this difficult really fuels my flame. I swear I have to get the driving line near PERFECT in order to get gold, and it became very irritating listening to the high pitch of the Toyota Supra's engine for 100+ tries. F*ck this test.
recently started playing this again after many years and no matter how close i try and copy what you do i can't get within 0.3 of gold on a-4 and half second of gold an a-8, the car seems so much more stable in your video on the first hairpin and the second if i try any sort of speed i spin and any slower i'm even further away from the time
@@alexismignon7839 I don't understand it, I got gold in all the others after a few attempts, no more than 10-15 mins on the hardest ones, but this one has taken me more than a day. The fastest I can get is 30.320, my car does not turn like this guys does, he wasn't even on the racing line before the last corner yet somehow his car just steers in like that? makes no sense

The result of that license all depends on how you approach the tight corner on the right, that is, without skidding and going out of control. That is one of the hardest A licenses I have ever done. Thank god I have a gold in it! :D

the licences A-3 and A-4 are very harder to finish in gold, silver or bronze

Thanks for this video, it was really helpful.
How'd you've done the 3rd Licence test?
damn, these are just as good as the developer examples

I'm playing GT using steering wheel and pedals, in my opinion having good racing lines and I still can't get the golds.
Final A licence ssr 11 me and my friend beat after 9 month of constant playing...
I really dont get it how you're doing those Gold licenses, when I was doing this stuff in GT4, bronze was my best, and it was freaking me out :D
How do you put the speedometer in Km/h?. I've been looking for that option but can't find it. How I do that?
I'm trying get all gold again, this time in PC and in video. I got all gold in B License in video today.
Nice! tou are a great driver! :)

Are You using a wheel and peds to play this I'm already 58 days on the 3rd A lic. test.....
wow thats cool
Question: Is it possible to obtain the prize cars for license tests again once you've completed everything? because i foolishly sold mine.
Only if you start a new game, get them again and trade them to your main garage (you'll need two memory cards).
5:00 Paul Walker's The Fast And The Furious supra but in grey?
+Gillet Gaming No it's called TRD3000GT
Can you please upload your save data??
I really want the TRD3000GT and i can't get it

epsxe?
How tf do I do A-6 I’ve been doing it a million times and still can’t pass it.
To pass it, you need to brake a bit just before the corner before the tunnel. Then push
AT or MT?
I got gold in A5 and B3 using manual.
I can't beat A-3 and I've tried like 300 times. Aw
