  • Kinda hard to call this original since it's heavily inspired from The Stanley Parable (and maybe Portal and Vector). But it deviated so much from the cannon lol so why not.
    I hope you enjoy ^^

I absolutely LOVE the idea that this is a sequel to black decay. the narrator after loosing stanley was so possessive and protective and honestly deranged that he built an entire fake reality with his newfound powers. just to keep this copy of his deceased friend (or lover? cant rly tell) alive. willing to kill him over and over again if it means they get to keep having adventures. seriously fantastic work. The camera turning around the character as they run; the sync on dodging over, under and through obstacles; the rapid yet carefully placed layering of multiple cut-ins; both main character's emotional reflections being framed in various items; the incredible and seemless zoom from character to camera lens as that doorknob is thrown; the change from fully coloured to unstable linework and back into a fully coloured BAM frame _my GOD!!_
And yet it's this simple moment at 1:38 that gets me. Run Cycle > Camera Rotation > Split Screen Focus of Face and Feet > Breaking through the Split Screen on the Turn _while Syncing with the Music_ AND the Character Overlaps The Cinematic Border in a way that's dramatic, visually pleasing and an indication of a symbolic turning point in the character's mindset/intentions!!! Now that I've played The Stanely Parable your work is 10x MORE IMPRESSIVE JESUS CHRIST.
Going from THAT.....to designing BOTH characters..... to the creativity of having Stanely actually try to escape..... to the storyboarding of the fight scenes and just making the story in general....... and then, of course, your animation is phenomenal.
On the first (like 20) watches I appreciated your animation, but now I'm starting to realize just how much of a creative process this whole thing was, every little part of it, it's actually insane. Like, the amount of time you must have put in to this. It's so much more incredible and intricate than I ever thought. Like, you didn't just find a game you liked and animated it, you did so much more than that. Thank you.

It's almost as if the watch is a part of him. He never lrts it go, and once he does, you see him glitching. His eyes flash solid yellow for a moment.
Also the animation style is fabulous in both! I love how you can clearly see Narrator controlling the environment until he loses the watch. It transfers into the next video so well. I can't wait to see what else you make!!

THE CAMERAWORK IN THIS!!! Every shot is so beautiful and dynamic without being difficult to follow, I replayed 1:36 like 3-4 times because that tilt is so _perfect_, the way it emphasizes the action is incredible. Also a huge fan of how well synced this is (1:26 and the whole sequence after 1:52 are especially delightful vis-à-vis syncing). All of that isn’t even touching on the fact that the character acting, animation, and colour choices are absolutely stellar as well.
Edit: about the acting, that “blink and you’ll miss it” little self-satisfied smile at the end of the 0:43 sequence is SO GOOD! Hell yeah dude, dodge that furniture!

flawlessly moving the camera to match the characters movements, the yellow that sticks out among the rest of the setting's cold blues JESUS CHRIST , the clip where everything effortlessly transitions from sketchy lineart to Sadist iconic perfect lineart, how he learns from his first attempt and breaks the cameras, and may I say, the 5 point perspective on the yellow screens? Good heavens! This is like an action version of the Stanley Parable. It’s so good! I really love how you can tell how each character ticks. They’re method of thought is very in depth. I really appreciate how the office lad (Stanley?) starts knocking out cameras one at a time, making the attacker blind. And so, he reverses his methods. Builds up walls in front of his path. Goes from an offensive tactic into a defensive one. Makes such logical sense! God, this is so dang good.

I'm just gonna rant for a second 😊
0:01 Even from the start the details are cool! The loading screan matching with the audio of the song puts the attention on the song straight from the get-go and it's alsow great timing animation wise cus it matches the music's beat perfectly. Alsow the text being curved like its on an old computer ^^
    0:14 The lighting of the narrator and showing light on him without showing him fully keeps it mysterious and yet shows us clearly he's there and how hes standing i luv it. I dont know how to shade pitch black fugures ngl ;-;
0:37 The little yellow sparkles or glitches when the employees disappear is so ominous it really shows how the narrator can do what he wants and how powerful he is. Plus it looks super pretty it's like pixie ✨ dust ✨
0:23 You draw hands so well, the fingers and the lines to show his wrist make it the perfectly realistic without looking uncanny
0:43 The little yellow wires/lines to signify that the narrator's taking control of the doors before closing them is such a smart detail. It looks like hes hacking into them or activating them. And the way they open perfectly with the beat of the music is really impressive :D
0:46 Alsow i love tour version of the narrator! Hes often seen in a turtleneck, jacket and glasses but still it impresses me :0 He reminds me a bit of those human Bill Cypher fanarts cus of the cnqieu clothing and the pops of yellow. The ominous vibes are strong with this one
0:50 The angle of the floor being the same shape as the lever the narrator is pushing is so friking cool! The fast switching of the two drawings while continuing Stanley's movement is so well done omg!
And the word "click" being shown reminds me of comic books, i love it when they show the words of what people are doing in the animation. It's like show dont tell and telling exactly what happens at the same time
0:52 The way the walls fall apart is so seamless and smooth. They are falling apart but it's very subtle and overall oddly satisfying
0:54 The strech and smeared phrames for the movements of the pole are amazing i like how it turns into a circle for a second and then crunches in the door frame it crushes but it doesn't look soft. Sometimes when hard things are crunched it makes it look soft but now it really looks like Stanley was just able to perfectly yeet that pole into the door frame 🤌

WHAT? Sadist your animations have always been insanely well done and have always blown my mind with their detail. This was beautiful, the fight scene was original and breathtaking, and the character movements were just jaw dropping. Flawless, never stop.
