I’m Canadian and my kids are Born Citizen we’re use to live in Vancouver 20 years agoes the situation of housing hasn’t change much and there’s many more humanity issues that Canada faces it was a struggle imagine now we’re out from Canada long agoes it’s nearly the same circumstances all around Canada .
It's not only in Vancouver it's everywhere I can't afford barely anything in Montreal anymore sadly and it's so hard to get 1 place, because we got like 50 people trying to rent the same place as you so it's first served who gets it's take its really hard for both non immigrants and immigrants 😞
The hard truth is that, unfortunately, the Canadian government has opened the floodgates to immigration, putting a massive strain on the entire Canadian infrastructure, not only housing.
You are correct. Nothing is fixed until the mass immigration problem is solved. We had over a million people come to Canada last year. So we’ll have 50 million people in 10 years? There was a time in the not too distant past when an immigration rate of 50,000 was considered normal. Canada really needs to rethink everything. We should not look to catering to the rest of the world. We have no vision as a country anymore. Countries like South Korea and Japan (but especially South Korea) will have a population crisis due to a low birth rate. But neither country is looking at immigration as a solution. In fact, the foreign born population remains small in both places. Turns out, culture matters. In Canada, there are many areas in Canada’s large cities that feel like a foreign country. Without a word of English (or French, in Quebec) being uttered!
You cant expect your life to get better over night, even citizen must go through this exact process, has a young adult u must build ur credit and have colocs and find a cheaper place in a cheaper neighbourhood farther from the city and drive through long hours of traffic to get to work or to school, even students will gang up 4-5 together in one appartement to be able to get a place near their school, even mature citizen with great careers end up with a place that cost more than they can afford and they must work two jobs to be able to make ends meat, we have low income housing for immigrants and we offer them governemental financial support that no citizen has; the cost of living has gone up but the cost of rents in the city have always been higher, you must start at the bottom and climb your way up like we all have citizen or not, we all work very hard to get to where we are, it doesnt hapoen over night or just in a couple of years; patience, perseverance and conviction is key and you can get whatever you want
And isn't it reassuring that the new minister responsible for the rate of immigration is proposing that we should aim for an even higher rate of immigration for the future?

Anyone in Canada you ain’t going into Vancouver unless you have money. That’s that call it a day
Canadian citizens SHOULD get preference. You shouldn't come here until you have established a place to stay if you aren't a citizen
All the love for yr heart S2
