- An officer witnesses a man driving reckless doing car tricks and chases after him. Shortly after, the reckless driver crashes through someone's house. The owner comes out and shouts at the reckless suspect who has severely damaged the victim's property. Elsewhere, police engage in a high speed chase with a 17 year old on a dirt bike.
Real-life officers are followed by a camera crew, cinéma-vérité style, in a gritty up-close look at police work and the consequences of crime. It spawned a number of police-reality imitators.

The first cop gave that girl the biggest break she will ever get in her life. I pray that she recognizes what he did for her. He may have just saved her life. I have never felt the power that drugs has over people, but I’ve seen it. I believe he did more for the community by letting her understand what could have happened and that she’s too young to ruin her life. Jail doesn’t fix the problem it just puts it on hold. Giving someone like her in that situation a second chance is the best chance she will have at becoming a good citizen. I hope she gets to see the video and watches it every time she feels like using. Thank you for a true service to the community
Cops really do offer chances like that. I'm black and I've been offered that chance. Because of it I'm not a convicted felon and I have all of my rights. 7yrs Clean.

Cops offer chances yes, but you can’t tell me that the camera doesn’t affect both the cops behavior and the criminal. People tend to act straight when they’re being reminded constantly that they are being watched.
