Fantastic job guys! Home makeover Ecuador! Loved seeing your home improvements and gardening. That view is everything. Hope you do "before and after" sometime. (Tubing mascara Kris- never runs😊)
What a beautiful home inside and out! My husband can so relate to the pillow situation! I'm the same way! It was so awesome to run into Kris in Olon last week! I'm still over the moon! Missing Ecuador already and can't wait to be there permanently next year. Love watching you guys!
Awesome video, for the jalapeño if you grow it with a seed from the a mercado/store you don't know what you will end up with. Peppers will cross pollinate with other peppers grown near by.
That spikey plant looks similar to agave azul I have around my house en la sierra. There is a distillery in Quito that makes tequila from agave azul. I try all kinds of plants too. Where I live at 3200m, it's much cooler. We occassionally get frost. "Lemons" don't like it here. I have planted some avocados. They are still alive after 3 years, but are growing very slowly. I planted some apples and reina Claudia's (plums) this year and they all lost their leaves. I was afraid they had died. But like you said, it appears it's a cycle because the leaves are returning. I noticed the native capuli (black cherry) seem do have a similar cycle. The plant I've had the most success with is Lavender. Very easy to grow and after 3 years, some are huge; about 1.5m all around.
Yes it is definitely a type of agave. Maybe even Azul. That's great you have a big lavender bush. We are trying lavender as well. It keeps dying back. Over water maybe. It's seems sensitive here.
If you have a insta pot it’s easy to make hot sauce! Our favorite is Habanero Pineapple or Jalapeño Mango, and if you like jalapeños make a batch of cowboy candy.
Thanks 👍. Goto our channel and a few of our first videos talk in detail about why we choose Ecuador. The reasons are still valid for us. We did use a lawyer to get our temporary Visa.
My orange and lime trees (in Olon) have done the same thing. The first year they had some fruit, then last year and this year barely anything. Since i am only there 4 times a year I can't keep an eye on them. We will be down again at the end of the year and have to meet up.
Hi guys, I love your videos. You have a great vibe! I was watching a video about the program on the coast that helps educate locals on business and helping them. Can you give me the link to the video or the organization that you featured with two other ladies? Thanks so much -
@@KrisandMike It's weird - I just made fig & pepper jam and used a jalapeño, 3 habaneros and a fresno and it wasn't hot at all (I don't like more than a tingle).
Amazing work! You guys have done such a great job. What a view!!!!

Hi! Guys
¡Qué gusto tienen para decorar! Hermosa casita. Disfruten mucho de vivir en un lugar cálido. Espero no se cansen del intenso calor. 🥵
No, a nosotros nos encanta el calor, especialmente a mí (Mike).

Yes I am eying those to recipes lol. Tons of habaneros coming soon.
Wonderful video! What an amazing place. For your garden, how about pineapple and tomatoes? Also, some topsoil before planting?
I am a pepper geek 🤓
good house. I like it.
Thanks 👍
Yummy! I love peppers, hot or mild. As long as you remove the seeds, I bet Kris can eat them!
They grow so fast here. Immediate feedback 👍

Beautiful home!! Plant more tropical tree fruits like chirimoya, guanabana, pitahaya etc. you guys have good taste .

That's the video.
Need to grow some Thai peppers
Yes I am collecting seeds and have started many kinds. More updates coming. Lol.
Pepper looked large for a jalapeño
I am wondering myself now. Lol.
hope you removed seeds
It's the pith that's hot!
Yes we did.
This should have still had some heat. Lol.
