Bought this model a week ago from looks like the same seller. Very impressed with it. I do have many boxes as it's a bit of a hobby but after having them a while i give to family. Compared to the firestick i would say it's a much better product. I also have the shield pro and to be fair there is not much difference in video performance but i'm not a gamer. I've added a 32gb usb drive by using an otg cable which has allowed me to install or move some apps to that to free up space on the internal hard drive. For £40 i think it's definately worth the money.

This is the way that I’ve started moving to on my 5 TV’s. I love it. It’s easy to set up. Easy to install a custom launcher. You can assign up to 3 different items to each button.

It's great for the price. Unbeatable for the price, actually. I've got a couple because I wanted to outright switch from using Firesticks (I have 4) but I find it a bit lacking it certain aspects performance-wise. The bluetooth connection is weak AF. I can cup my hand over my ear and block the bluetooth signal from the ONN to my earbuds. Very short range. On the Firestick I can walk from my bedroom to my front door and still have a connection. ONN frequently looses BT connection for a second, causing the audio to go out of sync with the video, even when I'm sitting 6 feet away. On the ONN box, I have to use a wireless USB mouse (so a hub is a basic necessity) to click "Pair" whenever I try to pair ANY new device. Maybe the fact that the remote is also bluetooth is causing some kind of interference, but that is an issue on both of my ONN boxes. And I don't love the remote. There's no MENU button, which actually reduces functionality of a lot of apps, like quickly saving/removing things from watchlists, or accessing other functions. I've tried using Button Mapper to turn one of the buttons into a "Menu" button, but it doesn't appear that the OS has that functionality. Nothing happens. The remote also lacks Play/Rew/FF buttons which I use a LOT on the Firestick. Not having them means you have to do more clicking and navigating just to to do basic commands on some video player interfaces. It's also a bit laggy compared to my 4k Max. Noticeably so. Not a dealbreaker, but I've seen people favorably comparing ONN to a 4K Max, and that's not been my experience. But having access to the Play Store, the ability to use custom launchers and remap buttons, and pretty easily expand storage are huge pluses.
Hi Chris. I am in the United States and I watched this video and seen that you added Downloader to the apps. I always have used the Firestick and never the ONN, so I went to Walmart and purchased one. Connected it up and everything works as expected except when you ask or type in Downloader, it doesn't come up. Maybe it will not work in the USA. Hope you or someone else has a fix for this. Thanks Milt

I have had a Recast DVR since the beginning. It was always said that it would ONLY work via FireOS devices. It has already ’locked me out’ of one (of my two) of my 1 TB external hard drives. I had filled it up almost completely, quicker than I thought, so had to get another (identical Seagate model) and 'alternate' them ... which is not ideal. Best to use a single 'large-enough' external drive in the first place. I really don't know if the drive, itself, actually failed or not, but I find it much more likely that Amazon's software has FAILED to continue RECOGNIZING it, is the culprit. Regardless, I've essentially lost all these Recordings either way! Anyway, though I loved the Recast ... when it was working properly ... it has always been plagued by Amazon 'breaking various functionality' with their constant 'updates.' I was estatic when I heard that TABLO had come out with its updated "4th Gen. OTA DVR" and it also would have a FREE 14-day EPG Guide (like the Recast, which was my main reason for choosing it, originally), whereas their previous ones required a monthly fee. TABLO initially only came out with a '2-Tuner' version (which still wasn't going to be a solution for me, as I needed all 4 tuners that my Recast has), but they soon came out with a '4-Tuner' model as well. THIS IS WHAT I WILL BE PURCHASING (SOONER OR LATER) WHEN MY RECAST IS ON ITS LAST LEGS! It only comes with a '50-hour' internal hard drive (128 GB), so I would definitely be getting an External HD to plug into its USB port (just like the Recast). If course, if you already have a spare (compatible) one, or don't record/save more than 50 hours worth of programming, then no extra expense is involved! The two models of the TABLO are also much cheaper than my Recast was (though I bought mine for $100 discount ($179) during BF/CM Sale). I think the '2-tuner' model retails for $99 (was $79, on sale), whereas the '4-tuner' model retails for $129 or $139? (not sure how low it gets for sale?). If you have liked your Amazon Recast, I think the new TABLOs are the easiest replacement. I would just Google the two models and watch a few RUclips video reviews in them. Plus, if you are in a position to transition now (i e caught up watching all your recordings), you could probably resell your Recast on Ebay and make a decent amount of money back! Good Luck! P.S. Forgot to mention the part important to you. Unlike the Recast, the TABLO DVRs work with various streaming platforms (including FireOS, Chromecast w/Google TV, etc, etc ). You should just confirm that it will work wiith YOUR chosen streaming device.
I only buy devices with 16gb of storage at a minimum so I don't need to do endless maintenance and I don't like adding through otg cables. I switched out to Mecool devices with both the KM6 plus and KM2 plus offering 64gb and 16gb and never looked back
