Cruise ship EUROPA departs London Greenwich on 26th August 2024. EUROPA was on an 11 day, one way cruise from Dublin to Hamburg. The next port of call was Hamburg,
Thanks. It is not one that I have seen before. It can only accommodate about 410 passengers so I would think that the cruise prices would be rather expensive.
Another great video. Maybe not many folk like this vessel .. of all the cruise ships I've filmed on the Tyne, this is the one with the fewest number of hits .. and my video is 5 years old now. My wife and I were in London a few weeks ago and as always had a great time. I had planned to go to see Tower Bridge opening, but forgot all about it. Keep up the good work !
Thanks. It is smaller than most of the cruise ships that go to Greenwich. The most common cruise ships there are the Viking ships (one arrived there this morning). If it helps for next time you are in London, there is a page on the Tower Bridge website that gives scheduled bridge lift times. Also, if you are ever here in later September / early October, that is when the paddle steamer Waverley is here.
@@ThamesShips Thanks for your reply. Yes, I looked on the website and saw the bridge was opening twice in about 30 minutes to let a ship up and down, or was it down and up .. trouble is, it was the date we actually arrived in London (4th Aug) and with all the excitement I forgot all about it.
@@brianmorrison9168 This happens a lot with some of the party boats and the sailing barges. They go through the bridge in one direction and then go through again a short time later. I believe that the road traffic starts to tail back whenever the bridge is lifted so they like to shut the bridge and relieve the tailbacks as soon as possible. I believe that they also have to tell the emergency services when the scheduled bridge lift times are so that emergency vehicles are not sent over the bridge when there is an scheduled bridge lift.
Same here. The video is currently sitting 10th out of 10 in the terms of views for the last 10 videos. I'll have to try and film a more popular vessel next time!
They are doing special day trip services at the weekend during September from Tilbury and Gravesend up to London. I think they also had some during August as well for the school holiday. I took my mum on one of them earlier in the year (for Mothers Day) and she enjoyed it.

Nice video! How about taking us for a ride on one of those clippers?
