About to make this recipe now! It looks so good and as usual, thank you so much for the incredible recipes and tutorials! Sending you and your loved ones much love
Great dishes. Really being back memories of Fiji cooking. We'll done. Not many people. Know the traditional Fiji cooking but you have it nailed. Keep it up.
Thanks! I got if from Amazon. Here is a link : Estilo Single Round Salt or Spice Box with Lid, Bamboo - EST2585 www.amazon.com/dp/B01DUTWVEU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bAAoFbGK9N4SP
You are amazing I love all the utensils you are using Stainless steel is so nice and also your beautiful Skillet Your recipe is Also incredible Very clean 👌
Nice! personally I would cook the meat first to release the juices then add vegies but still looks good to me, would add more ginger as well to your recipe. Thanks for your video, loved it!
Beautiful recipe thank you 💗 Although what do you do with the other 2 thirds of the garlic/ginger/chilli mix? I guess I'd put it all in to the marinade or frypan as nowhere else was it added, nice recipe anywayz 🌺😎
Thank you so much for the feedback! I have a link to the recipe in the description section. Here it is for you. www.simplyblissfulliving.net/2018/05/chicken-chopsuey-fiji-style-stir-fry.html?m=1 Thank you!
Thank you for the feedback! You’re right because chopsuey is a stir fry. It’s a particular type of stir fry and each region of the world makes their version slightly different. :)
I need to go back & visit! Before we moved to the US, there weren’t many Chinese people there. We saw a few in “town” when we went but looks like things have changed!
You can omit the bell peppers if you want. I haven’t made it with cabbage so I’m not sure if it’ll taste the same. You can always increase the quantity of any other vegetable too if you’d like. Like the bokchoy or the onions :)
@@SBLtasteoffiji Thank you! yes I hear you, I haven't eaten it with cabbage ever so thought i'd see if you had. I have half a cabbage left from making gobi and don't know what in the world to do with it! LOL
If you’re open for experimenting, then go for it! :) I’m sure it won’t taste bad. Cabbage is good in soup too! I have a brown stew recipe that you could use the cabbage in :) or Gobi and tuna! So good!

You can view the written recipe on my website if you don’t like the formatting of the videos. Or you could mute it and just watch. Only voice over without any music isn’t my preference at this time, but I’ll certainly keep that feedback in mind.
I loved it I've always wanted to know how to make it that way as I love it the Samoan way even tho I'm maori my best friend was Samoan and I spent a lot of my days at her house and loved all the food her mum made so this dish brings back good memories thank you I will watch other recipes if u have more.
I’ll try very best! I have a 4 month old and am finding it quite difficult to shoot videos. As soon as I’m back to the rhythm of things, I’ll post a video.
Miri Drav they didn’t use to be when I was there. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back, sadly. One of my other viewers commented the same. I guess there’s a lot more chaina people there now then when I was there in the early 90s!
Oh great! Is that your grandmas recipe? Or your moms? Would love to know the origin! Back when we lived in Fiji, cornstarch wasn’t ever used although it has become common practice now. Also, we didn’t own any nonstick. I try to avoid using it now, because numerous studies show that it’s quite detrimental to your health. Good luck to you.

Simply Blissful Living Thank you so much dear! 🙏🏼
I use this recipe on a regular basis...I also add a mix of 1 tablespoon of corn starch and half a cup of water at the end to thicken
So happy you like this recipe! I use corn starch slurry sometimes too. It makes the sauce nice and thick and it "sticks" to the veggies and meat.
You are amazing I love all the utensils you are using
Stainless steel is so nice and also your beautiful
Skillet
Your recipe is
Also incredible
Very clean 👌
Thank you so much ❤️
Nice! personally I would cook the meat first to release the juices then add vegies but still looks good to me, would add more ginger as well to your recipe. Thanks for your video, loved it!
That's what she did lol. Cooked the meat first
Lovely recipe, would love to try this, looks really yummy. Thank you for sharing! the music in the background is also nice
Beautiful recipe thank you 💗 Although what do you do with the other 2 thirds of the garlic/ginger/chilli mix? I guess I'd put it all in to the marinade or frypan as nowhere else was it added, nice recipe anywayz 🌺😎
Thanks for bringing that up. I already missed a step apparently! The rest goes in the pan when sautéing the onions, bell peppers, and celery.
Simply Blissful Living - cool thanks, I guessed that, looking forward to cooking it! Take care and keep up the awesome cooking 🌸

Thank you!
wow looks yummy.
will surely try your recipe.
Thank you 🙏 I hope you enjoy it dear! 💗
That's a nice recipe loved it nicely presented but I think I would disagree with it being called a chopsuey that's more like a stir fry
Thank you for the feedback! You’re right because chopsuey is a stir fry. It’s a particular type of stir fry and each region of the world makes their version slightly different. :)
Chopsuey is what they call it in fiji!! For decades!

I need to go back & visit! Before we moved to the US, there weren’t many Chinese people there. We saw a few in “town” when we went but looks like things have changed!
Wow I could taste it 👏
Thank you dear! I hope you give it a try!

Can you replace the bell peppers with cabbage? would it still taste ok?
You can omit the bell peppers if you want. I haven’t made it with cabbage so I’m not sure if it’ll taste the same. You can always increase the quantity of any other vegetable too if you’d like. Like the bokchoy or the onions :)

Remainder of the garlic paste????

🙏☺️💗
This video of yours is actually a recipe of chicken stir fry
nerf master thanks for the feedback. And yes, it is a stir fry. Chopsuey is a particular type of stir fry. 😁
music too loud. delicious recipe
Thank you for the feedback.
Thanks but where is the corn flour ??
Thank you. I don’t use corn flour for this sauce as it thickens it up too much & typically, the dish is quite saucy.
yum!
Sun fun yum....... lol
Can u make chili chicken plz.
I’ll try very best! I have a 4 month old and am finding it quite difficult to shoot videos. As soon as I’m back to the rhythm of things, I’ll post a video.
very misleading.. this is stir fry.. chopsuey is the one with gravy
Chopsuey is a stir fry my dear. Feel free to double the sauce amount of you like yours soupier.
Did you forget to add the celery you chopped up?
I added it in around 4:19 mark.
That’s the first thing she fry with her onions and garlic
Excuse me what rock you Hiding under. .. kai Jaina every where in Fiji ... they even settled in the outer islands
Miri Drav they didn’t use to be when I was there. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back, sadly. One of my other viewers commented the same. I guess there’s a lot more chaina people there now then when I was there in the early 90s!
No need to be so rude. Think before u speak..!!
@@dove7778 I'm not being rude. .. I'm stating a fact. ... bodo
That was nothing like Fiji. I’m Fiji the main ingredient is cornstarch. Also you need to use non stick.
Wth?? How is this chop souy? This is more chow mein and not chop souy
😑Chow mein literally translates to stir-fried noodles. Where do you see noodles in this recipe? This is the traditional way chop suey is made in Fiji.
