    • @jomoluda
      @jomoluda 6 лет назад +14

      Would you compare what Orlando made throughout his career with what Davido or Wizkid have made in a shortwhile. So, Clement Oloyede is right. Its important that their legacy and intellectual property is protected. It has the potential to make more money in their death than when alive. Classics becomes more valuable as time passes.

    Listening to this, one of his phrases reminds me that their generation changed Nigerian attitude towards musicians; musicians hitherto were viewed as beggars. Their attitude to providing good rhythm, informative words, melodious sounds that cut across ethnic groups and social classes lifted souls, gave Nigeria good image across the globe and added value to lives.
    I miss Oliver de Coque as well.

      @Babatundey, am like you bro. I live over half of my life in western world, Dr. Orlando Owoh (RIP) remains my best musician of all time. I think one of the reasons our older artists get broke financially in their olden days is their love for many women, and as it is in our culture; many children. Women cost money sir. Am sure our forefathers or mothers that named wife IYA OWO have their reasons. My delight is that most of our youths, (well in the western nations) are more focus than my generations and the people before me. I haven't been to Nigeria in 11 years, and just 3 times in 31 years. I hope our younger men learn from their fathers' mistakes and use their time and money more wisely.

      You know "Yellow Sisi" was first sang by Cardinal Rex Lawson...
      And the wordings are slightly different from this.
      Both versions are great though.
