Just started a new job, sitting here contemplating life, wondering what it's all about and then see a notification that MD has posted a new video! And I suddenly feel better! Gonna enjoy this one when I'm home this evening 🐟👍
I started a new job once that I hated. But had no choice but to continue and eventually 2 years after I started, it led me to starting RUclips. You never know where paths will take you 👍
@@MDFishTanks At last you have an opportunity to show what you have learned in aquaristics all these years 2500 L is the perfect opportunity to show your skill
It's in their best interest as provides the biggest form or advertising and it's in my interest because I get to make and film something cool for you guys, which in turn pays the bills 👍
Really nice to see you back at maiden building tanks for them. Also really nice of you to give Martin some screen time. You definitely see he has lot of experience and is a genuinely nice guy to work with!
I've been waiting eagerly for this build, as I've got a keen interest in South American fish species and tank setups. Looking forward to the next video 😊
Excited to see where this goes. When I saw that second even bigger root system on wood, straight away I was like “no way they use that” and I was right. 😂 excited for how the fish look at the end Also loved the sneaky peek at Chunks at the beginning, he has settled in so well with the other fish
Great to see this tank being done finally, can’t wait to see it next time I pop back in although I’m gutted it’s not going to be just a huge shoal of Pygmy corydoras like Martin and I had discussed once 😂
it would have been a good idea to fill the black boxes with media. there's going to be plenty of beneficial bacteria anyway. just using up free space lol
13:03 I know how that feels, years ago I bought a substantial log of Malaysian driftwood and chopped about 1/3 of the backside off so I could silicone it to the back glass of my tank. It looks fantastic in place but chopping it down was a mildly emotional moment *saw noises* "Well, that section is worth about $30 by volume...." *more saw noises* "That piece is at least $25 worth of wood, and $12 for that piece."
Love the Airwalks! I used to have gobs of those growing up one looked like the color of a tennis ball........random I know but it was the first thing that popped into my head when i saw them LOL
Who are the 37 people who gave this a thumbs down? What is wrong with you people? Absolutely awesome project. Loving seeing you bring it together; I can't wait for the next episode. I am praying that there is a serious school of altums in this tank.
Ohmigosh, so excited for this one! It's going to be epic, and it already started off epic with those mangrove rootballs! This is really like a dream come true; a ridiculously large aquarium made into a small/medium community fish home. And you just know MD is going to go crazy on the plants ~_^
Great project guys! Been looking forward to this one to be honest! And can't wait to see how it turns out! Any plans on what fish are going in already?
been waiting for this build! also im looking at starting up a new tank in the new year, could you do a large tank with nano fish stocking as inspiration?/
Having an aquarium so big you can literally sleep in it is every fishkeepers dream Geotextile fabric, sphagnum moss or even filter sponge covered in moss to hide the ugliness works great for epiphytes like anthurium or orchids growing in a riparium
I’m not doubting Martin’s repair work but would the weight of those stumps put pressure on the cracks under the patches? And cause the tank to have further issues down the track? I know Martin said it’s like double glass etc once they fully soaked wouldn’t the weight be twice as heavy on the stumps???

Same boat Andy.
@sparrowsfish Good luck mate 👍
Watching these videos is making me want to start a tank build again. 6ft inbound 😉

The owner of the shop must be a cool person to allow these collab over the years 🎉

💙 please can we have an update on Martin’s pond!?
Really nice to see you back at maiden building tanks for them. Also really nice of you to give Martin some screen time. You definitely see he has lot of experience and is a genuinely nice guy to work with!
Imagine if @fishshopmatt was in it too! The little puns and humor i def miss
Makes me so happy to see you back in the shop. I hope we can start seeing Martin more regularly 🙏
i miss the shop and the small no sponsor tanks so much
Looks like Chunks is loving the big tank!
Next time you are in Belgium I hope I can meet you, you are such an inspiration for me and the hobby.
I've been waiting eagerly for this build, as I've got a keen interest in South American fish species and tank setups. Looking forward to the next video 😊
Is this the start of Maidenhead Martin's RUclips career
I really enjoyed seeing your 8ft progress looking forward to seeing this one grow over time too
Super cool seeing Martin on the channel again. I really what an update on his pind y'all did. I don't believe we ever seen a finished pond.
Loving seeing you back at the shop! Good vibes with Martin x
My aquascapes have gotten so much better since watching these videos, thanks
First great to see Chunks is still up the front of the tank❤❤❤
Love this project, can't wait for the next video ❤❤❤
Goodness Chunks has gotten massive.
Awesome to see you doing another setup in the shop. Can’t wait for next episode.
MD is one of the only RUclipsrs I would love to meet. Your amazing MD love the content.
Chunks is such a gentleman. He backs off from the food and gives the smaller fish a chance at the food.
Excited to see where this goes. When I saw that second even bigger root system on wood, straight away I was like “no way they use that” and I was right. 😂 excited for how the fish look at the end
Also loved the sneaky peek at Chunks at the beginning, he has settled in so well with the other fish
love to see u both vibing in the oldschool fish shop great commentary and filming as always
YEEEEES! I‘m so read for watching this on my big screen on the weekend. First 2 min are amazing 💚🐟 Thanks MD!
12:00 use a small cutoff saw and toothed grinder bit, that will allow you to both cut out chunks of root, but also carve bowls into the wood
Would be cool to grow mangrove in such a large aquarium
What a mammoth project. Off to s great start. Really looking forward to future videos on this. Thanks for sharing.
Great to see this tank being done finally, can’t wait to see it next time I pop back in although I’m gutted it’s not going to be just a huge shoal of Pygmy corydoras like Martin and I had discussed once 😂
Chunks is growing good in the tank! Looks healthy
Getting spoiled with all this new MD content!
I miss Mad Fish Shop 🥲
10 minute gang
Md I love you videos so much. It has helped me figure out what I want my tank to look like. Thank you.
It's happening! So exciting!
No help this time, but there are hand-chain saws available. Handles on either side of a cutting chain. Would have been magic for you!
Great series, and you and Martin worked hard!
Just a couple of lads playing with their wood
it would have been a good idea to fill the black boxes with media. there's going to be plenty of beneficial bacteria anyway. just using up free space lol
Sou do Brazil sempre vejo seus vídeos Like 😊
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. Looking good so far.
Is Martin Matt's brother?
Looks exactly like him aye
Mmm yes love when i get to turn off my brain and just watch nice tanks get made.
Love your content MD
Did Martin say he was "Sand-a Claus"?...Haha! ;) This is an amazing project--Thanks for taking us along!
Can't wait to see more. Those tank dimensions are something, special.
love seeing u and martin enjoying the process of the tank build
Ein tolles Projekt! Ich hätte gar nicht gedacht, dass diese "Monsterwurzel" noch ins Becken passt .... 😮
Excited for this series - have a feeling it might be an all timer
Do we have to pay extra for Martin rubbing his pipe? 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂

I need 1 hour videos from you MD hahahhaha this tank is gonna be awesome!!!
Super excited to watch this come together!
Giday from Australia 😊 going to love watching this all come together, and those timber peices are stunning 😍 awesome job so far.
We're going to fish market today. Will buy aquascaping stuffs 🎉🎉 Really excited.
How’s Martin’s outdoor pond getting on?
Love the Airwalks! I used to have gobs of those growing up one looked like the color of a tennis ball........random I know but it was the first thing that popped into my head when i saw them LOL
This is so cool, can't wait to see how it turns out.
Can't wait to see it finished going to look insane
Yay! Finally! I've been waiting for this build!
Am I secretly hoping MD does what he did with the 8ft African when it’s done he combines all videos into one mega video 🤗🤗
I've been waiting for you guys to start working on this tank. ✌🏾 🐠
Chunks seems to be LOVING the 8ft tank, his colors are so bright now!
Who are the 37 people who gave this a thumbs down? What is wrong with you people? Absolutely awesome project. Loving seeing you bring it together; I can't wait for the next episode. I am praying that there is a serious school of altums in this tank.
I wasnt one of them but they did turn a 5 foot tank into a 3 foot wide one
What happened to the stingrays?
This is going to be amazing, I'm sure. Looking forward to watching the progression of this tank.
Waited a long time for this video, good job!
3:46 is that typical R2D2 setup?
very beautiful aquaescape md cant wait to see what is next
So excited to see it unfold
Been waiting for this vid super exciting!!
18:50 damn! nice job with just 2 people! bet that stumps heavy af
Look forward to the next part 👍
Ohmigosh, so excited for this one! It's going to be epic, and it already started off epic with those mangrove rootballs! This is really like a dream come true; a ridiculously large aquarium made into a small/medium community fish home. And you just know MD is going to go crazy on the plants ~_^
Awesome start!
Great project guys! Been looking forward to this one to be honest! And can't wait to see how it turns out! Any plans on what fish are going in already?
I really wanna replicate this 👏
MD starting a gaming channel?? I see that razor blade laptop!
No lol. You need a gaming laptop for editing true 4k video
Glass is surprisingly strong, you guys resting hat huge log on the rim looked questionable
It's strong, it just doesn't flex. So weight straight down without an impact point is all good
Only one word, wow!
I was wondering, did you ever do an update on the pond in Martin’s yard? Excited to see how this build turns out! Alright, carry on. 😊
If I ever win the Euro lotto, I'm gonna hire you to help me build a tank the size of your entire studio!
Apic build ! 😊😊😊😊
Thats not a tank thats a pool lol. Awesome work.
i can say that i was here in the first hout of the video being released
U can take a huge tree stump to the local sawmill so they can help u to cut with their huge machine to save u time and effort
Was waiting for this. ❤
Soon, Martin will leave the fish shop, join MD, then split off to do his own videos. Lol
It's fish shop mats twin
This is going be sweet
I'm guessing naming the video "Man Drops Massive Log" would have attracted the wrong sort of viewer 😜😂
Mantap om
been waiting for this build! also im looking at starting up a new tank in the new year, could you do a large tank with nano fish stocking as inspiration?/
WOW...I spent the whole build wondering if the tank could cope with the weight....👀
Is it just me or did Chunks look a lot bigger than before? He looks massive compared to the other fish!
awesome stuff!!
Having an aquarium so big you can literally sleep in it is every fishkeepers dream
Geotextile fabric, sphagnum moss or even filter sponge covered in moss to hide the ugliness works great for epiphytes like anthurium or orchids growing in a riparium
Are we able to buy the maidenhead aquatics merch in the states? I feel like after all these years, I gotta represent! lol
7:53 NO WAY 😂😂
I was like, Ayo! That’s the New Yorker coming out of me lol it made me laugh though for sure
martin being sussy
20:45 it’s SANDaclaus! 😅
Mantap bro
you missed a great pun opportunity!! Martin is "SAND-a-CLAUSE"!!
I’m not doubting Martin’s repair work but would the weight of those stumps put pressure on the cracks under the patches? And cause the tank to have further issues down the track? I know Martin said it’s like double glass etc once they fully soaked wouldn’t the weight be twice as heavy on the stumps???
No because the wood will be in the water. Even soaked wood in water is very light...but I guess we will see 😂
Those woodpieces are perfect for cory's to hide under :)
Martins setting up his own RUclips channel lol
rip buster he was a cool puffer.
South amarican?
It's the Bri'ish spelling.
