This is vert helpful talaga lalo sa tulad ko na in late 30's already planning to retire early. Grabe kahirap! Hopefully at age 40 makapag retire na talaga and do farming as a fulltime career
We are planning to retire too in PH and its a good thing to make the decision earlier so we can plan earlier too. So we are now making the efforts to make more investments in the PH that will give us multiple income streams in the future, retirement benefits in Canada is not as lucrative as the US so retiring here is difficult plus the fact its bitter cold here. Same as ate Gi I see myself enjoying retirement later on with my siblings, we do recognize that our kids will have their own lives later on, but I'll be just around to help during the times they most need me.
I'm 63, retired, and I've had my money in S&P 500 funds (100℅ stock) since I started investing. I have made a great deal of money with my FA Kathie and I see no reason to change. The S&P 500 has made an average of 9.8% returns over the past 100 years. International and Bond funds are losers in my opinion because they don't make much money. This is just my amateur opinion which may not work for everyone
I also investing in the SP500 index, i am 42 years ild 17 years na akong naginvest dyan and have a balance of $732K. 5 more years mag stop na magwork. Whether you use Vanguard or Fidelity , investing in SP500 index for the long term is a solid choice. Prang bapakasimple lang but not many people are doing it.
Investing in an S&P 500 Index fund is the easiest, and most efficient way to invest in the stock market. If you invest through Vanguard or Schwab their Index fund fees are rock bottom low. Very few professional mutual and hedge fund managers can beat the Index. One of very few able to outperform the index fund on a consistent basis has been Warren Buffet. You can invest in his Berkshire Hathaway B fund. It's an affordable way to invest alongside Buffet. Beware of other funds that just try to copy his investment moves...they all charge high fees!!
For me kailangan balance din. Enjoy life like travel, invest also in real state. Kase I’ve known so many friends sa kaka save nila sa retirement, namatay lang sila 🥺 hindi sila umabot sa 59 it’s really sad . Kase hindi mo talaga alam kung kailan ka kukunin ni God 🥺 palagi nilang sina sabi mag travel daw sila pag retire na 🥺 that’s a big NO 😳 kaya ayun hindi nila na enjoy yung 401 k nila at SS 🥺 kaya ako as much as I can gusto ko mag travel every year. You never know what happens tomorrow. The importance is your healthy, prayers and do what makes you happy ♥️🙏
Philippines is getting expensive really really fast I guess because economy is doing all right the growth economic growth. They also called the rising tiger I live in America most of my life. I am a great human. I was eight years old and still looking for I can’t retire financially Cambodia is one of the most economic I thnx for the info.
I have a 401(k) and am taking advantage of the maximum employer match because that's essentially free money. I also opened a Roth IRA and set up automated deposits, investing weekly in growth ETFs and index funds to dollar-cost average. As I approach retirement, I plan to gradually sell my growth ETFs and transition to dividend-paying ETFs, likely something like JEPI, which pays monthly dividends, or another dividend ETF that minimizes downside risk during market downturns. This way, I won’t have to sell frequently if I need cash. I hope my savings will be enough for a comfortable life in the Philippines, and I also wish that my retirement doesn’t coincide with a recession, nor do I want to face serious illnesses like cancer before that time.
@@official_ate_gi_channel malapit na ba ang retirement date? i know at 60. who took care of the house for 25 yrs? having a pension is really a plus. i took a lump sum pension payout from one employer i worked 9 yrs for as i could not be sure how healthy the plan is and i could invest and have control over the 6 figure payout myself. problem is i put bonds in it for the first 5 yrs so had no growth before putting it in equities. i have since doubled it but i need another doubling to replicate the monthly payout at 65 that the original pension had assuming a 5% yield. i may still get there by the time I'm 65. that was the extent of my analysis. if the pension plan remained solvent keeping the pension was probably just as good. the federal government pension is more reliable.
@@Random-ld6wgI’m 58 na. So 2 years na lang. my mom took care of our house until it became too big for her age. So we have it rented.
Yes it is true but being poor or being an average person in the Philippines when you get old and got sick is very difficult. Because I experience it myself with my grandfather and other friends I've known. DSWD, PCSO's help is not enough in some cases..

What healthcare coverage will you have in retirement? Are you planning to register with Medicare at 65 (which cannot be used in the Philippines)?
Good question!
Because im a federal employee, we will be able to carry our health insurance during retirement. It will cover hospitalization on reimbursement basis.
