Maybe this is a good thing. In order to encourage people to buy gold pass maybe they release some good gold bundles.

I am FTP player and I have not reached 90 a single time (for 500 extra Gold).
I have 15,000 Gold in my balance as I'm waiting for value Gold bundle like Apocalypse/LadySif, Enchantress/Morbius, Beach Sandman, Savageland DDino.
I don't think they will ever realse such value bundle again😢

Not reaching 90 as a F2P is a you problem. I even got to rank infinite 300 last season as a F2P. I'm still mad I can't get enough tokens, though, I'm missing most of the series 5 cards and half the series 4 cards.
I have like 14,000 gold. I never bought any of it. There is nothing to do with it. I want tokens at a reasonably rate.
Not only is there a lack of gold bundles, but the gold and cheaper bundles mostly have mediocre or even bad variants for cards that rarely anyone plays.
Of course this makes sense from a business perspective, but it would be nice If SD would actually value their playerbase from time to time.
The monetization and business models became so much more aggressive in comparison to when I started playing the game.
Probably because they were growing the player base, now they have the good amount of potential customers so now is time to milk the cow 🐮 in business lingo. It’s overly aggressive tho and I’m afraid they are over playing their hand.

I think that you should be able to buy the battle pass with gold or cash, that way you get an incentive as a f2p player to buy this kind of thing.

you can use good to buy skins. Hoarding for bundles is bs anyway. They might give you more value but you dont have any sense of progression while hoarding
Thank you! I’ve been saying this for months now, after they shuttered data mining, they knew this drought of gold bundles would probably get everyone upset if they saw this coming. Goal is so worthless right now because there’s almost nothing to spend it on except for variance, which has FTP, is not worth a lot at all

This is good value based on the old concept of gold in-game value.
However, they have seemingly removed all good gold bundles from the game in the past month with no new ones on the horizon… so the current use of gold is using it on cosmetic variants. That’s pretty much it.
So this feels more like the typical SD “1 step forward and 2 steps back” scam. They are giving us something… while taking the value of that something way down.
yeah if the game continues to not give good ways to spend gold its naturally going to become less valuable to players

Personally I never really spent gold on the bundles they give because those bundles never had variants I want so I mainly use gold on variants so I can get the rewards on albums and get that extra variant/ 2k tokens so I actually don’t hate this but I hear everyone’s gripes and agree. If they add a free way to get more tokens monthly and revamp the spotlight cache I think the economy will be greatly improved (not perfect)
If the gold pass is loke it says in the article. Then I'll probably get it. As value seems ok. Maybe get a variant I like or use some to upgrade a card if I'm a little short on credits or boosters.
I’ve been feeling the lack of value on gold for myself, but with the lack of gold bundles from Them, it feels as if they don’t value gold so… Maybe I have that backwards on their part, but either way the lack of gold bundles makes gold feel less valuable for sure.
Honestly I’ve always liked these systems in past games I’ve played. I’ve logged I. Ever since I started playing and haven’t missed a day. Started with about 10 days left in surfer season
I mentioned the lack of gold bundles on another streamers' channel asking them to do a video on it and they basically replied with "you're wrong there are just as many as always." It was a bit off-putting but it's nice to see you acknowledge this issue.
I have over 20k gold saved up... just been waiting for a bundle to spend them on that gives actual progression value and not just a few crappy variants for off-meta cards.
They put out like 50 money bundles for every single gold bundle. And even then the last gold bundle was the Rian Sara one which had crap value.
No gold bundles and no datamines has led me to apart from the season pass I bought nothing last month, and I expect the same this month. This is coming from someone who at least spent 150ish every month in snap cause I bought frequent bundles.
This gold pass makes sense and I like it in other games as it's typically much worth the value if you login everyday anyway but without gold bundles my factor on caring about gold has significantly decreased to the point I won't even buy this pass.
I'm still waiting on the Mystery Variant login reward. So I'm reluctant to purchase a pass if it's built on the same technology. And what is gold good for these days when there are no good value gold bundles?
They are diluting the value of gold. As we have really nothing to spend gold on. I like to spend on things that no one else has. But shop variants is now been the only thing to spend gold on now as the gold bundles just disappeared

Albums are addictive to people w my behavior types, I want to complete stuff 100%. So they're leaning into that by manipulating gold acquisition and increasing art/variant. It's a bit worrying that they are constantly squeezing their most passionate fans though. Feels bad.
I dont have that problem, that's why I'm F2P. I only bought 1 season pass, and I hit infinite every season. I look at this game from a performance standpoint. Variants do not boost my performance, so they mean nothing to me.
I have 17k gold. The most I buy is the season pass. I’ve been playing for 15 months.
I’m not going to bother with the hold pass because with the lack of bundles I don’t need to hoard anymore gold

Gacha games (genshin being the most notable one) already do something like the gold pass and it's a fair deal I've seen no one really complain about.
Meh, since gold has no real value anymore in terms of bundles and variants, I honestly have been using gold to refresh missions - as at least you get some season xp, some credits, and usually complete the weekly missions by Wednesday, then I simply don't log in because tbh for me, without incentive to play, no point in playing.
IF they offered...say a token pass that would at least let me work towards not having to waste keys on variants of cards I already have in order to gamba for the new card would be much more of an incentive due to the lack of gold value in game.

I’ve said this on someone else’s video but golds value is meant now to be spent on albums. Get variants for keys/tokens by using your gold. The ladder track is slow at giving you the variants you want (700g). So I think this basically means to me $5 to get a premium variant to advance your albums and a 700g one. Idk to me gold bundles for money just ain’t worth it anymore, and since they’re being so stingy with gold for token bundles imma just start trading in gold for variants.
I would not buy this until they actually make gold valuable. None of the gold bundles are typically good.

As a free to play player, I can't spend 5$ on principle.
I say include some gold with the season pass.. a bit more incentive up front. Why keep adding too many options that contradict each other. Makes me spend less honestly.

Nah f this I have my hela discard deck and will get heavy hitters such as red hulk but second dinners greed is such f’d up. 150 and 30 dollars for minimal currency isn’t cool. Marvel snap it’s been real but I’m now a free to play player
this just proves even more that gold will be less valuable, i can guarantee that gold bundle will be gone and even if there are they will be suck. Now the only use of gold is just for buying variants

SD has found a way to milk more money from people. I used to be a supporter but they have gone off the rails with monetization and i dont want to support that.
They literally exist to make money. Kind of hard to be upset over them trying to monetize where they can. I wish they'd do more for the non-whales though.

I get Ads for Marvel Snap everyday and I still see Ben Brode talking about how this game is “free to play”. The game really can’t be free to play when all new cards are S5. Completely abandoning the token system was stupid but profitable for SD. Again just another Hearthstone or mobile game taken over by micro transactions.

As a ftp player, this game gives me anything I could want. I hit infinite within 24 hours, and I just have to skip on a few cards each month. Nothing like other mobile games I've played.

I'm not against them exploring more monetization options. The whole operation seems pretty expensive and I think they've been trying to find the right balance between rewarding their whales and limiting how much they alienate the exclusively free players.
Honestly, I feel like Second Dinner has been really respectful of the player base. I encourage people to speak out if they feel like these monetization experiments are falling short, but I don't trust people who are angry with Second Dinner at this point.
I say this as someone who was furious about the anime Sera and Angela bundle. They've proven since then that they're willing to sell variants at a variety of price points and I respect that.
Are you really saying this as there is a Shang chi variant locked behind a $100 garbage value bundle in the shop as we speak?
