    Dr. Van Dyken you are awesome thank you soooo much! I'm adding cocoa powder to my coffee, which I've also recently begun to supercharge with herbs/spices! I'm using turmeric and and tiny bit of black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, also a teeny bit of clove and cayenne... and I like it a little sweet so I add a bit of stevia (whole ground leaf). Sometimes I lighten it up with a nut or oat beverage. --- I also will just eat a 1/4 teaspoon or so along with some banana or date -and nuts. I think of it as making a candy bar in my mouth. 🤣I love that cocoa powder is such a tasty and inexpensive way to boost nitric oxide!! 💪💚

    I really love this channel! Dr Van Dyken, thank you so much for all that you do. You provide us with valuable, cutting edge information. I first heard about how to increase nitric oxide from your channel. Similarly, I first heard about urolithin A here. And this video on cacao is the best I've seen. By the way, I recently discovered that a cocoa plus turmeric drink doesn't taste bad! Two of my favourites in one drink!
    My only very mild criticism is that, like most doctors, you focus more on discouraging saturated fat consumption, rather than on sugar (especially fructose) and most polyunsaturated oils (seed oils high in omega-6 linoleic acid) as the major culprits in inflammation. And it's a bit ironic because cacao is one of very few plant foods that's actually high in saturated fats.

    Dr. Van Dyken, thank you so much for your videos! Loving the videos on NO and dealing with hypertension. Now, I am trying to include cacao as well. You mentioned the suggestion/recommendation of CocoaVia's CardioHealth as a Cacao without cadmium. I appreciate that. After starting to include this cacao power into my routine, I noticed the ingredience includes cocao processed with alkali. I've searched that alkali meaned dutched processing. I've seen other videos from another YT influencer, who is a heart doctor by training, says this process removes all the helpful polyphenols. For now, I think 90% dark chocolate is better than nothing, but I am confused how/if dutch processing matters.

    • @kyles5513
      @kyles5513 Год назад +1

      Cacao is the purest form and is made by cold pressing. Once heat is used to roast it is turned into cocoa and heat destroys almost all of the antioxidants. If it's dutch processed then it's regular cocoa with basically no health benefits, but tastes better for baking.

    It seems the US is lagging behind the EU on many front regarding chemical regulation. Not sure why. Perhaps the public in the EU is more educated on some of these issues. Think here in Australia we all also lagging behind the EU. Peace all, good health to you

    was getting excited about the potential of cacao powder, now I see here and read elsewhere that it has a high content of heavy metals. So all the benefits get outweighed by the hazards..... anyone have some input on this? thank you

      To be honest.Unless you grow your own food and animals we all should be detoxing on a regular basis.I dont think the chemicals in. About of cocoa powder or a chocolate bar IS going to be worst than 20 minutes breathing in any city at high traffic or the fabric softebers we inhale daily,the deodorants hair products or the food and drinks weneat in plastic for months or metal cans.I fast,grow my own food take cilantro regular y and other metal chelators.Todaya toxicity in Air wáter and food IS unavoidable.and It doesnt have to prevent US from eating highly nutritional food.quite the oposite,we need high antioxidant circulation boosting superfoods like cacao so our linphatic inmune system performs well and helps ya remové the toxic substances in our body.The ok ncreased circulation brings Blood to every small área restoring health and removing waste.If its not cacao you Will drink any other brebage that Also containa polutants but the benefits ar far from cacao benefits.Cilantro chlorella and zeolite regulary should be enough.Remember where there IS Blood there IS Life.Boosting cacao powder with cayenne pepper garlic or other circulation boosters makes. A wonderful tonic.Even a glass of plain wáter contains contaminants.So yes lets Detox and lets enjoy our cacao drinks! 😊
