How a modern game is made is basically a hundred people sat in offices, typing away. The artists use mice and graphics tablets, that's sort of interesting, but really it's just office work. Not interesting to see.
Street Fighter takes a fair while of play before you even master Hadouken, or it did me and I was a Western teenager. Playing it in the arcade was awesome, kind of bonkers now I can emulate it on a phone and probably a watch if somebody's ported MAME to one. Mostly it'd be them mashing the pads, with the characters jumping around and occasionaly medium-punching each other. The younger ones have experience with joypads so they'd get the hang of that but SF takes some practice to even become a novice at.
Besides that they have NES and perhaps Megadrives even in Indian villages. A lot of the Chinese pirate NES consoles sell in India. The ones with a single chip doing all the NES functions and a big memory chip containing a hundred games (but advertised as a crore). Pirate NES consoles have been made since the early 1990s, you can get handheld versions off the net for almost nothing, and they often plug into a TV too. There are even educational versions, built into a PC-style keyboard, with spelling games and the like, though they still mostly get used just for the normal games, they come with joypads too.

I began playing video games at the age of 8, when one of my cousins received a NES console for a Christmas present. All of us cousins would gather around my aunt's TV, and take turns playing "Super Mario Brothers", "Duck Hunt", as well as "Track and Field". My brothers and I continued to game on later consoles - Super NES, Nintendo 64, Playstation consoles 1, 2, 3, and 4, also all X-Box consoles since its' initial release. I'm still amazed at the technological advancement through the decades since those first games, but it's amusing to see gamers in recent years having a fondness for 'retro' gaming. I suppose it all comes full circle; if you are a fan of gaming, it doesn't matter which decade it's from - if it's a good game, people are going to want to play it! 😅

Man, Sega really dominated the arcades in the latter half of the 80's. 4 games in a row from 85-89, even if the game from 89 was labelled wrong. It said Galaxy Force 2, but Power Drift was shown.

I wish they'd chosen a video that showcased the 3D volume metric capture method, like Kingdom Come Deliverance. When you can take 3D imagery of the real world and import it into a game, it's sort of the pinnacle of graphic design. Unfortunately, except for Horizon Zero Dawn and Metro Exodus (which wasn't even the Ray Tracing version shown) the advancements in near realism were lost in that video.

I played Pong on coin-operated machines, but it was Space Invaders that first wowed. Came across it as we were leaving a bowling alley.
"When Nishikado completed the game, it was initially met with a mixed response from within Taito and among (Japanese) amusement arcade owners; his colleagues praised the game, applauding his achievement while queuing up to play the game, whereas his bosses were predicting low sales, due to games often ending quicker than was the norm for timer-based arcade games at the time."
..."By 1982, it had grossed $3.8 billion, equivalent to over $13 billion as of 2016."
