Recently I purchased two LX 505 pioneer..
625 per receiver bought two of them delivered to my house directly from pioneer these renew in the box not be stock not used not refurbished.. and that price lasted for all of 2 weeks and I was lucky enough to gain it.
OMG guys .. if you can get this receiver in your hands for less than 800 bucks it's a steal very nice. No I do question the 120 w at 8 ohms per channel across the board.

Fully agree on the screen: It's a shame that neither Marantz/Denon, nor Pioneer/Onkyo or even Yamaha is capable of using a "real" screen which shows cover art at least. Even in the €3000+ range they are using these Dot matrix displays straight from the 80s.
Only option with a real screen is the NAD T778, but it's lacking HDMI 2.1.
Im definitely buying this one. I had a Denon X2700H but I need something more robust like this pioneer

My Friend. The 505 is the middle model higher than the 305 and lower than the 805.
Interesting translations. Too bad they don't make the knobs and remote out of metal so that when you interact with it the feeling that you get is not of cheap plastics.

Nice, but still if it doesn't output 4 ohms, it's not really what you need...Pioneer VSX-505RDS, old and much cheaper, manages to output 4 ...
One issue is you cannot change the crossovers correct?
I once purchased a Pioneer VSX-1121K that failed nearly after 1 year (i.e. not too long after warranty was over) and this forced me to never buy any Pioneer home theater receiver again. I took that Pioneer to a Pioneer Certified Service that told me my receiver needed a whole motherboard replacement. Is this brand still having these low quality issues?
I have had the exact same issues with Pioneer ARV's. Really low quality in the more modern part of the electronics. HDMI's failed etc etc.
I will probably not touch a Pioneer either.

Should I exchange my lx505 for the lx805 only for dlbc? I have 2 subs.
I have the top of the range (2016) SCLX 901 with class D amplification. Runs really cool, better for longevity I hope. I wonder why this isnt class d?
Weird that the main PS caps are so much smaller (10000 uF) than the US variant. In the US version, the main caps are Nichicon KS, 75V, 15000 uF. Even the lx305 has 12000 uF caps.

The door on the front of this receiver is absolutely useless it's taped connection to the receiver all it does is hide buttons what else would it be for??
So take off the front panel door put it away and forget about it until you need to resell the receiver to someone else after you've used it for a while
