I can get an A/C unit for cheaper than the dyson fan FYI !! Portable A/C prices range from 250-600 dollars. Mine was 249 dollars and it does the cooling lot better than dyson's fan.
If you're gonna spend $500 on a fan, what's the point when you could just buy an AC unit? It'll keep you much cooler, will be cheaper and will cool a whole room much better than a fan. Downside is that it's more expensive to run but if you're willing to spend $500 on a fan then that shouldn't be a problem.

On the contrary Dyson consumes much lesser electricity. At max mode it consumes 58 Watts as opposed to 75-100 on traditional fans. Moreover, the fans are much quieter (approx. 78 Db). Now you may be able to buy a purifier for much cheaper, but they do not come with the grade S HEPA filters that Dysons come with. Also, these filters are lined with activated carbon which catches odours and toxic fumes (also has two sensors which detect dust and VOCs). It is a lot more expensive but the extra amount you pay is justified for the key features.
This review is correct regarding the sound. I bought a Dyson AM09 and the sound reminds one of a silent vacuum cleaner. A huge disappointment! So it will go back to the store first thing in the morning.
They shood give Californian’s a discount for the Dyson air multiplier becuz it gets so hot there over the summer. Every time I turn my fan on at night, it dries out my room and makes my body more stiff😞. I know it generates airflow of up to 55 mph that is smooth similairly to a wind breeze.
I prefer Lauren Goode for the comparison videos, not hating but I feel like she just does it really well and effortlessly whereas this guy looks like he is trying a bit too hard.
I kept waiting for the schtick to end and the real technical comparison to begin and then it never did.
