Yes, Pilot Radio Corporation from Long Island City, NY was around in the very early days of radio and build quality receivers -- highly regarded -- and later developed a few televisions. During the Hi-Fi era of the 50s and 60s they build amps, preamps, tuners and receivers and whole consoles. Their engineering and build quality were generally on a par with the likes of HH Scott, Fisher, Sherwood, Harman Kardon, etc. Something happened to the company after about 64 -- probably management issues -- and they lost a lot of market share and eventually disappeared.
