Thanks! Yeah, I really love having the asset pack because it feels much more like a complete game once it's finished - rather than just using placeholder art everywhere (since there's no way I could possibly finish all the necessary pixel art in one hour heh), but it definitely comes at a cost, heh. Glad you liked it! :)
Yeah, it took me a while to actually give it a try because I was pretty intimidated by it, but it ended up being a lot of fun to try - even with some mistakes! And I learned a lot for my next try, so I think the best thing you can do is just to go for it!
You are one of my favorite game dev RUclipsrs. I always get psyched when you post a video, bro. I do pixel art as a hobby. If you ever want to Collab or something, I'd definitely be up for designing some art for your games
Thank you so much! :) Also, just checked out one of your videos, great stuff! Your pixel art is awesome! Hit me up on Twitter and we can try to work something out! :D
Thank you, insandio! :D Yeah, getting that parallaxing background in at the literal last second was a pretty lucky break for me, an actual photo finish on this one, heh.
BTW said You want to try 3h. Try Trijam, it has 3h for actuall work idea, preperation and planing is of this time. It happens every weekend. Also soon they'll have one time 9h Jam for creation of 2 games.
Oh man, I totally should have used a premade art pack for my 1 hour challenge. My game looked like total garbage lol. Your game almost looks like a full mobile release! That’s crazy you were able to get it all done in an hour
I have a "generic" project folder that I keep stuff in, including a "scripts" folder that I copy good stuff into and make generic when I think it'll be good to keep around. Then I just copy it directly into the new project when I want to use it. Unfortunately, went down into a different project folder because I was going too fast, heh
Impressive! Even with an asset pack that's a lot of work to get done in an hour! Very cool to watch a game take shape from beginning to end.

I also want to try this challenge! It seems pretty daunting, though

Fastest talked in the west. I don't have any issues with that. Good video my guy
Thanks! :D

The last second for the sky setting was so close! Felt like I was watching an action movie lol Good job with the challenge love the end result!
Thank you, insandio! :D

Haha, using Kenney's asset pack really helped the final product feel finished for sure!
gameboy: :D :o ^_^
luv it
Right? The gameboy's faces are so cute!
Very cool - well done - have you done a trijam jame ? Thinking of giving it a try.
Another commenter just told me about Trijam, and it sounds super fun! I'll probably give it a try as well! :D
How do you usually organize generic scripts for your games in folders?
I have a "generic" project folder that I keep stuff in, including a "scripts" folder that I copy good stuff into and make generic when I think it'll be good to keep around. Then I just copy it directly into the new project when I want to use it.
