Just an FYI to all performing this upgrade there is a 2nd high pitch stock horn located under the car that this video doesn't mention. Great video non the less! Definitely helped me with my install. Thanks.

Those nuts do not come off that easily. They are ridiculously tight. You need to grab the hella bracket by the edges in a vice, as close as possible to the horn. Use a 1/2" ring spanner and absolutely hang off the thing and you'll get it undone. The Subimods bracket does position the horns perfectly behind the grill. The design isn't that great but it's good enough. If the bottom fold was the full length of the bracket and was forward instead of back, the bracket would be much stronger.

Is it enough to remove the grill? Must the whole bumper be removed for this?
You could, it would just be more difficult to route the wires through to the battery. Not sure how you'd manage when it came to that. Probably be quicker and easier to just remove the whole bumper.

Is the bracket required for the install?
Hella horns come with small straight brackets from the factory, but the bracket makes installation much cleaner, and even.
I have RallyArmour mudflaps already installed as well as a PERRIN tow hook license plate relo kit on my STi. Is it possible to install these by simply removing the grill? I'd really like to not have to take the extra time to take off my mudflaps/license plate kit to take off the entire bumper if possible
mudflaps don't mount to the front bumper, and your license plate kit is easy to remove..

Has anyone tried their pre-built wiring harness on a 2012 Forester?
Most of the harnesses should be fairly straight forward.
For the wire of the horn to the battery where do you hook it up? The actual battery or to the battery fuse? And + or - side??
you are connecting to the factory horn wire anyway and that is already fused so there is no need

These are made in India!
why not use german ones? Some say the Hella Supertone made in Germany has a stronger sound but the price is more expensive, is that true sir? I've also used this Hella Supertone made in India now, but I'm curious to hear directly the results of the sound made in Germany...@@Subimods
Would this work on an 06 legacy gt, or do you have a different bracket for it?
These will work on any car, just use the original horn wiring.

The 13mm nuts were torqued by Chuck Norris... can't get them to break free lol

SoStock Wrx I used the ground for bracing unfortunately, if i remember correctly think I used something to tap the wrench on the nut to break the torque as well
