Being miss USA is an opportunity to become an ambassador for the United States, And it’s to this great country that I owe thanks for allowing me to represent you. To the miss universe organization thank you for creating a program that allows young women the ability to become a positive role model. To the state of Missouri and the city of Florissant, it was an honor to represent you. I especially want to thank two very special butterflies my mom and dad for taking this amazing journey with me through the good and the bad you’ve always flown by my side although this year has passed by so quickly I’m once again reminded of the butterfly who counts not months but moments and who has time enough.
California gave a sincere congratulation to North Carolina. I like the way california showed her excitement until the last minute of the pageant. She was great.
North Carolina's FIRST Miss USA win! Georgia has never won and my state of South Carolina has won THREE times and is the only state to have won Miss Universe more than once...we have TWO winners!! So happy for North Carolina!! She was AWESOME!! Now come on Georgia! WIN ONE!!
miss ncarolina is o.k but she is not so tall, rather she is dwarf, notice how tall Shandy looks alogside of MCarolina, the diference is noticed instantly. Miss california was the best choice that year.
The judges liked Chelsea's answer to the final question better than California's. Donald Trump said that after the pagent he told Chelsea that he was happy that she won.

Miss North Carolina USA 2005 Chelsea Cooley of Charlotte deserved the 2005 Miss USA Crown! Just 2 weeks prior to the pageant the University of North Carolina "Tar Heels" men's basketball team won the national championship by beating the University Illonis1 The grea southern state of North Carolina was on a roll in that 2 week period! They make me a very proud "Tar Heel" state resident!!!!
Still can't believe Georgia, Alabama, Florida nor Mississippi have ever had a winner crowned Miss USA. I believe Florida and Alabama have replaced Miss USA winners for various reasons.
Alabama has won Miss USA in 1967 with Sylvia Hitchcock but later she competed in Miss Universe where she won. So Alabama not only has a Miss USA winner, they have a Miss Universe.
Have you ever noticed that states like Idaho Wyoming Montana the Dakota rarely make it to even the semi finals same thing with some of the New England States

I remember her modeling at the local mall when she was only about 14 years old. She is the only Miss USA from Missouri and we love her, but she's showing too much.
