That bike is very, very nice. I find myself searching for a gravel bike, mountain bike, and road bike all at the same time. My head is starting to spin. Good review videos, dude.
Best Bike I owned so far. Got the 2021 in 2x Grx Shimano. Appart from the price tag and availability there is nothing else to complain about from my side.I hope it will last me a couple of years. Great review.
@@TheLankyCyclist I also picked up a new 2020 SC Stigmata GRX in Mustard around 2 weeks ago, I also like shiny paint! Rode it around Lake Tahoe yesterday, LOVE IT! Great video and great feedback!
Nice stig 👍 I have the 2017 'skittles' yellow Stigmata. Had it since then and I'm up to 16k miles. Love it. I have two sets of wheels for road and gravel. 38 g-one speeds for road and 38 g one ultra bite for off road. (They both run at 40mm for some reason) Had a couple of sets of ramblers but found them quite delicate and kept getting pretty significant rips in them. I wouldn't recommend them. Both sets of schwalbes have been 👌 my frameset has the same hole. I've had the same piece of gorilla glue tape stuck over it since I've had it. Water seems to drain fine. I do collect water in the steerer tube through the top cap though and have to drain that every now and again. I've run mine 1x. (Sram force) 42 up front. 11x42 in the back. Ride up to 100 miler road, mountain bike routes up to a blue, commuting and everything in between. Also run it on zwift with a trainer wheel 11x36 in the back. I've put a hope carbon seatpost and zipp carbon bars and replaced all the bolts for titanium. Such an awesome bike especially for the potholed rough back roads of the UK. can't see a need to replace it any time soon but would like an electronic groupset.
Thank You. I appreciate this review. I have been looking into buying this bike. Most of my friends have the Stigmata and sometimes I wonder if they are brand loyalists or the bike is really that good. So I am doing my own research quietly Lol.
For that hole you have on your frame: get some AMS frame protectors and just stick on over the whole. In fact, just cover the entire downtube to protect your carbon frame. I've had mine on my MTB for 6 months and it is very durable. It is thick enough to withstand impact.
I used something similar on the hole....problem is then it traps water which gets in near the cable openings. Need something removable, so the water can drain out. I probably should protect the downtube. Good idea.
Can you bike pack on this? I'm 5'6-7 and 230lbs. I've been wanting one of these but not sure on size from 52-54 and then I want to bike camp. Thanks for the videos.
You can bike pack on anything but I would say that’s not really it’s best use. Lacks the mounts that more dedicated bikes have. So you will be slightly more limited in what bags you can use. Geometry is more racing oriented. But I don’t bikepack so my knowledge of what makes a good bike for that is limited.

Unfortunately mounting a rear rack is not allowed, only fenders. Would be so great to have a normal Ortlieb bag with stuff for an afternoon at a mountain lake.
@@TheLankyCyclist Good idea, a Platzangst XL bag can already accommodate about 10 l, maybe I will get something like this.. Unfortunately the Stigmata frameset is so hard to get in Europe.
@@TheLankyCyclist I would need size 58 but thank you so much for caring. :-) There was a mint frameset available in my size in a store nearby and I was to slow to order it, the whole batch was gone in a few hours. @@TheLankyCyclist Cool. Thanks for letting me know. I'd also like to try a Diverge Comp Carbon and Salsa Warbird. There are a few in my area in size 58 and 59 for the wardbird. I should make my decision soon as people are buying gravel bikes up fast lol.
I have the mustard yellow stiggy and I can honestly say its probably my favorite bike. I haven't gotten a single rock inside the BB port. Actually it came stock with the rubber grommet and I ride some really chunky stuff. I also have a 6k specialized tarmac di2 and most days I perfer riding the stiggy even if it is just on tarmac. I've tried the warbird (close 2nd), giant tcx and specialized diverge and I preferred the stiggy.
I think it depends on your proportions. I'm also 6ft, but I went with a size 56 and have been happy. However, I have short legs and a long torso. If you haven't already, check out www.bikeinsights.com to compare what you're used to riding to the Stigmata.
Thanks for your review. I recently demo'd both the Stigmata and a Cervelo Aspero. Both felt like rocket ships compared to the Salsa Journeyman I'm currently riding. The journeyman has been more a less an ideal tool for the terrain here in the coffee region of Colombia, but I was looking for something a bit snappier, faster (for road rides) but could still handle some of the gnarlier terrain we have here in Colombia. Are you familiar with the Aspero at all? If so, any thoughts on how It would compare with Stigmata? Thanks again.
I'm not very familiar with the Aspero. I've only ever ridden the S5, and based on what I know about that bike and Cervelo in general, I'm sure the Aspero is a great bike. My guess is that it would probably be snappier and faster than the Stigmata on the road, but far less capable on stuff like single track. Two totally different companies... one that primarily makes mountain bikes and the other that mostly just makes racing road bikes. Looks like Aspero only has two bottle mounts and no fender mounts, if you care about those things.
@@TheLankyCyclist thanks. Will do! If you're interested at all in the burgeoning gravel scene in the coffee region of Colombia and are on Instagram, the page is gravelquindiocolombia.
That's basically what I did when I put some electrical tape over it... the problem was that the water that got stuck in the downtube had no where to go. I was peeling off the tape and replacing it regularly. It did keep out the muck though. Thanks for watching!
