6 .22 pistols and 300+ rounds with no failures. I know what .22 bullets I’m buying next. Thank you sir for all of your informative and enjoyable “every man” reviews!
Holy cow, you guys are good shots! I really enjoy seeing a dad and his son out just having fun shooting and having a good time. Thanks for taking us along.
During the infamous .22LR shortages of 2020-21, about all I could get Aguila. I found it reliable and accurate. In fact, even though the .22LR shortage has lifted in my area, I still go with Aguila. 👍
Hello Peter. I am going to stock up on Aguila ammo when it goes on sale again, and yes, it really is good reliable ammo. Thanks for the feedback and have a safe and Happy New Year!
@@mixup98 Thanks. Whereabouts is that in Nevada? I’m from AZ, but have spent a lot of time in NV. You and your son have a great New Year’s Eve and a fantastic 2024. Really enjoy your videos.
@@peterrussell798 A few times a year Sportsmans Warehouse will have a 250 box of Aguila .22 ammo on sale for $15, which comes out to 3 bucks for a box of 50! Stay safe and Happy New Year!
I really like that they seal the ammo in a bag before they box it. I used to hate Aguila .22 because of the smell but eventually I got over it. It’s good stuff.
Another great video boys! The .22 is great, you can shoot a lot for sport and target and it's economical. The Aguila ammo is proved to be a quality product.
Love Aquila 22 ammo, usually shoot Super Extra 40 gr copper coated bullet. Bought some in bulk, 500 per box, a few weeks ago. The wax was not only on the bullet but also on the cases. I tried to shoot them in 35 degree weather and the rounds would not function in the magazines because the wax was cold. I put about 200 at a time in a plastic quart bowl and used my wife's hair dryer to warm the up, then using a paper towel I massaged them to take the wax off, repeated this twice per batch. Took the ammo back out in the cold and the ammo worked great in both the gun and magazines.
Aguila, super extra 38gr hp and 40gr solid bulk ammo is my go to for 22lr plinking. IT JUST WORKS IN EVERYTHING! Also... ruger mark 2 is SUCH a great lil pistol.
Good shooting! Nothing like pops and son shooting together. My dad is far sway now and not in the best of health to go do outdoor things anymore. Enjoy your guy's time as much as possible, I definitely too it for granted. Keep up the great videos!
@@mixup98 you too bud! You guys should do a video of your most memorable times together! From California with much love! We don't have much freedom like you guys! Happy holidays sir!
Aguila uses distinct smelling Eley primer compound in some of their 22 ammo. I noted that even the ammo not marked with "Eley primer" has a similar/same smell. They may have acquired the formula for making their own version of it. And Eley is top notch 22 ammunition.
I started buying this and the 40gr solid in 2020 because it was the only kind available at the time. I've bought it ever since then. It works great in my Diamondback Sidekick and Stevens 64.
Remarkable performance out of a variety of pistols. I wouldn't have expected ANY brand of ammo to perform perfectly under that scenario. Always enjoy your videos. Something about "thunder in the hills/valley". All the best!!
I can almost guarantee that Federal or Winchester .22 ammo would not have performed perfectly through my seven pistols. CCI Mini Mag ammo probably would have done very well. Yes, I was extremely pleased with the performance of the Aguila ammo and I plan on buying more.
GREAT VIDEO, I LOVE MY 22lr pistols and rifles because of the FUN AND COST FACTOR. There are SO MANY different kinds of 22lrs and some that are JUST NEAT to own and shoot. I wish I was able to get ANY 22lr ammo for that cheap, the best I can do NOW is Walmart has Federal Auto Match (325rds-$21.47+tax). I have small collection of 22lr pistols: High Standard Sport King 6.5", Kel-Tec P17, Walther PPK/s (old steel frame), Browning Buckmark Bullseye 7.25", Ruger Government Target 7.25", Beretta 71 Jaguar with 3.5"and 6"" barrels, Beretta 76W and last but not LEAST Beretta 87BB. The Beretta 71 Jaguar is the MOST RELIABLE 22lr pistol, it EATS EVERYTHING.You realize that it has to be PRETTY GOOD because the Israeli Massad and their Air Marshals use them. Love ALL YOUR VIDEOS but prefer the 22lr ones because of the cost and where you can shoot them. One indoor range I go to can't shoot HP RIFLES. I wish I owned property where I could have my own private place to shoot even if only for 22lrs but the BIGGER STUFF would be BETTER. KEEP UP MAKING VIDEOS, I'LL WATCH THEM. 😁🤗👍
Eley priming is what you smell at a small-bore NRA match. As a car enthusiast as well, I liken it to the smell of 110 octane racing fuel as it is exhausted from a race engine. 😁
So the store I go to got about 200 boxes of these in. By lunch time there were 3 left. Mind you they were on sale for 12 or 13$ for 250 rounds. People love this ammo.
Good to hear that Aguila ammo is reliable. It's one of the few brands that's regularly available in my area. Also good to hear that it's reliable in the TX-22. I picked up one of the Competition models back in July, and plan on ordering the conversion slide from Taurus, so I can swap back and forth between the Competition and "normal" configurations, depending on what I'm planning to use it for any particular day.
2:50 Yes! That was my first pistol that I got that same year from Sportsman's Warehouse when it was over at their old location on Man-o-War Blvd in Lexington Ky. Mine had different grips though. Another really fun .22 if you can find it is the Feather AT-22.
Was looking for a different video but came across yours and had to watch. I loved Aguila so much I brought 35k rounds when it was 4 cents a round! Glad I did! 22lr is just plain cheap fun.
I also love Aguila .22 ammo and I'm highly jealous that you have 35k rounds! I'm glad you found my video and thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on it.
Aguila is by far the most entertaining 22lr ammo simply because of their vast range alone! The missus and I will grab a 4 boxes of that exact ammo around this time of year at Sportsman's for our plinkers (including a pair of His & Hers Ruger Mark IV's) because it's on sale. Great video, sir! 👍
I wish I could get my missus to go shooting with me. At least I have my son to take shooting. Thanks for the kind compliment, stay safe, and enjoy your Ruger pistols.
This Video, Marksmanship, Presentation, Wisdom, as well as Product/Aguila is PHENOMENALLY SUPERB ! Btw...I think I'm falling for that S&W 22 Pistol. 👊🏽🎯
That the stuff I use, it has those great jacketed / copper round noses. I bought many boxes about 3 years ago, never had an issue with them. Good stuff!
Always enjoy your videos sir!! Especially when you and your son are spending quality time together. Thank you for the time and effort you put into each and every one. Keep them rolling in
Hello brother. Another great video. Thank you for sharing. I love every .22 you shot with the exception of the Wather. I've never shot one. Just for extra reference I've used the same Aguila ammo in my little berretta Bobcat with great results too. It is sensitive for me as well. But, as a matter of fact, I have it loaded with the same right now. Looking forward to more. God bless all here.
While watching the video I kept saying dang! I wish I was out there with those guys having fun! I have my own pretty nice shooting range on my property but I hurt my neck recently lifting something and really not in any shape to go to the range.
I have shot that ammo quite a bit in my .22's I agree with you on the smell after you fire it. Very different. I have never had a problem with it. Not necessarily the most accurate ammo, but good enough for plinking. Great video as always!
You guys have too much fun! I’ve found Aquila to be very reliable and nearly as accurate as corresponding CCI and similarly priced. Both brands are superb as are most Federal.
We certainly love to have fun when we are out making our videos. And yes, Aguila is very reliable, and I usually pick up a box or two when I can catch it on sale.
Nice selection of 22lr's you guys were firing , I picked up some of that ammo a couple of months ago, and it's run fine in my guns. I recently picked up a older Taurus pt22 with wooden grips and it's fired everything I put in it, just wish I had ore than one magazine. I like watching you guys out having fun together and you both great shots, thanks for talking us along with you
J G there are a lot of PT22 magazines available for reasonable prices. I love my Taurus PT22, rosewood grips that are actually bigger than the Beretta Bobcats
I bought the 40 grain Super Extra last year and recently opened it up. This batch presented an issue where the brass swells up in a Heritage wheel gun, and ultimately causes the cylinder to seize up. Thanks for the video n' God bless
Love this ammo but won’t use it in my Heritage again, had the same problem with this ammo. All my semi-autos love it. And I also use the 40 Grain round nose.
Seems odd to have a .22 revolver bind up, and I have shot over a hundred thousand rounds through .22 revolvers. So the case head swells against the breech face? I am having trouble visualizing what is wrong.
I guess they weren't seeing it through the viewfinder but.....I wouldn't want to be that rock at 150 yards! He was laying them right in there. Offhand, no less!
I love that ammo! It's just as good as mini mags in my model 60, the only ammo that performs better in my model 60 is federal lightning rounds, but they changed the name to automatch but it's the exact same bullet
Been a fan of yours since the model 60 snub video. Have complimented you before on this, but that 75 yard shot you hit with that snub nose was a thing of beauty. Love the channel! Glad your son is getting more involved..
Your compliments are always appreciated, and yes, I still have my model 60, which I shot just the other day. My son and his wife and I just shot a video yesterday and it should be posted Friday morning and we hope you enjoy it.
Like the addition of “& Son” to the title! He deserves the recognition! You guys did it again. I do not have a Browning Buck Mark. Well, did not. I do now. Just ordered. Your “bad” influence! 😊 I agree on how good that Aguila HP ammo is. In fact, if you were to rerun your testing with 40 gr RN Aguila, I suspect you might get some different results. Or, maybe not. Thanks for another fun and educational video!
It seems that I have been a bad influence on a lot of my viewers! I actually did pick up a box of the Aguila 40 gr. round nose and maybe I will do a review on it too. Heck, I'm always looking for a good reason to break out the pistols and I think I just found it. Thanks for the suggestion, James 👍👍
Good shootin. Nice collection of .22lr handguns. I love that Aguila ammo although the Super Extra is all I have ever tried, but I never had any failures.
MY TX-22 had barrel issues. I loved the pistol and the trigger, but it wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn (it wasn't just me shooting it). There was something wrong with the bore. After a year of calling them every 3-4 months and waiting for them to send me a new bore and getting the runaround , I sold it to a gunsmith who was cool with that issue.
Taurus started well with the TX22, but then went through a period where their supplier was sending them bad barrels, poor rifling &/or tooling chatter marks. The really bad part is Taurus used them, & also sent them out as replacements for...bad barrels.
During the nineties, I had access to a Colt 1911 conversion unit and a box of 500 rounds of Federal bulk pack .22 ammo. I fitted the Colt conversion unit to my old .38 Super. My shooting partners and I used up the ammo in several sessions. There were no jams and no.misfires. Seems that Federal had better quality control during those days. Great shooting Mixup 98 and Son !!
Haven't have much luck with Aguila ammunition. I own one Mark II / 22/45 stainless steel just like yours. Having my right arm only, i take it apart to clean it, and it takes me 20 to 30 minutes to put it back together. I also modified with a cool red dot. I had it for 20 years or so. Bought it new for under 200$, +-.
This is what I use in my Rugar AR556 with the CMMG conversion bolt. Can rapid fire a full 25 rd Mag with NO faults. Same with my Henry Evil Roy. Have not run them through the Rugar MKII as it needs a new mag. Love to rock and roll the AR with these.
What I have found with the Aguila .22 LR ammo, is that it varies quite a bit from lot to lot. I ran one lot through my Browning Buckmark and Ruger 10/22 with no problems. Another lot wouldn't even load into the magazines of either firearm without hanging up. They were too long. Not enough to notice with the naked eye, but enough to hang up in the magazines. And my magazines were very clean. The same lot ran through my bolt actions and revolvers just fine.
I own a Ruger Mark II, stainless steel, i didn't like the black sights, so i took it to a gunsmith and had it add a rail with a nice red dot with different designs of red dot. Since i only have my right arm and it take me between 20 and 30 minutes to take it apart for cleaning, i made a wire with a loop to pull and release the pin in the back of the grip. I clean it after 200 rounds. I tried Aguila and it didn't perform very well. This pistol like cci, and federal. But i have all kind of 22lr. Is a little heavy. Ruger got the design from a Japanese pistol. Had it for 20 years and haven't shot not even 1000 rounds. I love the accuracy and i wish Ruger could have made it more easy to disassemble it.
A lot of people "Boo-Hoo" Aguilla ammo, but I think it is goooood stuff. Mini-Mag is the Top Dog, but Aguilla is right behind it. I've ALLWAYS have had good luck with it!
Good shooting as always Guys. I have about 1,700 rounds of the Super Extra because it's dependable & was on sale at Academy. Rumor is the odd smell is from being dipped in Jose Quervo for lubrication. Lol. It works. Have a Safe & Happy Holiday season.
I have a Ruger MK1 with hunter holster luke the one my Dad brought back from the Marines his was a 2nd hand buy he hunterd rabbits with and a friend cooked them up for the crew . Pop payed $ 35.00 with holster . I found mine in the 90s at the gun show at Dallas Market Hall i payed $ 225.00 it was in great shape the rifling was excellent . i have shoot my Dads since i was 10 years old when he taught me Pop was a rifle range coach in the Marines .I found a hunter holster just like his and a couple of extra mags . No matter what i have done to my pistal Pops gun still out shoots the one i have .
Got a lot of this when I could find 22 LR...During Pandemic glad it has a good review from you...got it for a Ruger Wrangler I have yet to fire new ....Think I got like 2000 rds of this!!🙂
These ammo reviews are extremely helpful for thosr who are stocking up on ammo. Before going to the gun shows i look for the most recent reviews so I'm up to date on whats good and what to avoid. Keep yp the good work Mixup98!
I took my new Winchester wildcat. 22lr out today and shot 260 rounds of the Aquila .22lr hollow point ammunition with not a single problem or misfire. This is good ammunition. I was getting rounds on target at 100 yards.
Great video .. I’d say you deserve credit for a great job of cleaning and maintaining your guns. That has a lot to do with no mis-fires. I’ll be keeping a eye open for some of that ammo. 👍
Got a few thousand rounds of this stuff stacked, and the worst I can find to say about it so far is that it smells "odd" (it makes me think "pissy diapers") when fired, and like most .22LR, it's fairly sooty/dirty. So far, I haven't encountered anything chambered for .22LR that won't eat it like a kid eats M&Ms. Even my ARs run absolutely fine on it when I put in the CMMG Bravo conversion. Aside from one stovepipe, my 10/22 has done absolutely nothing but "eat 'em and smile" every time I stick a mag (whether a stock 10 rounder, Butler Creek "Steel Lips" 25 rounders, or Ruger BX-25s) of it in. My score: 9.95/10 - will definitely be buying more as availability and budget allows.
Great informative video as always. Aguila ammo occasionally finds its way here in Europe, so I will surely buy some if I find any. Big fan of the Ruger, but loved the Buckmark and the tiny Beretta.
Hello Jon and good evening from Nevada. I have had my Buckmark in a handful of videos, but I've never done a complete review on it. Maybe I will do a review on it in early spring.
Great video mix-up and son!! I own a Bobcat that I shoot CCI 40 grn blazer with no problem. Gonna try aguilla . Really impressed with the Smith and Wesson. Very intimidating and cool. Taurus just came out with a TX 22 RDO compact. On the cover of Guns and ammo this month. Looking forward for you guys review on it.
Please let me know if your Bobcat likes the Aguila ammo. I have looked at the TX22 compact and I hope to buy one in the near future and do a review on it.
i love this Aguila stuff in my savage mark 2 and my keltec p17 loves it but i shot it in my Winchester wildcat rifle it don't shoot it well in the ruger 1022 mag in it but it shots ok in the wildcats original mag this is great stuff in most semiautos pistols great video
Aguilla ammo is top notch in my opinion!
Yesssssssss
Top Notch would Eley or SMK match ammo but aguilla is good plinking ammo

Love this ammo but won’t use it in my Heritage again, had the same problem with this ammo.
All my semi-autos love it. And I also use the 40 Grain round nose.
Thanks for the comment, I have a Rossi also.
I believe this is the first time hearing about problems with Aguila not working in a revolver! Luckily I have never encountered this problem
Seems odd to have a .22 revolver bind up, and I have shot over a hundred thousand rounds through .22 revolvers.
So the case head swells against the breech face? I am having trouble visualizing what is wrong.
Most impressed with the BB. I'd say that Buckmark was made for your son. Inside 200 yards nothing is safe from him
I guess they weren't seeing it through the viewfinder but.....I wouldn't want to be that rock at 150 yards! He was laying them right in there. Offhand, no less!
Both my Rossi RS22 and my Taurus TX22 shoots this ammo with no problems. Also the CCI Velocitors work very well in both.
I love that ammo! It's just as good as mini mags in my model 60, the only ammo that performs better in my model 60 is federal lightning rounds, but they changed the name to automatch but it's the exact same bullet
What a Nice collection of .22's🧿
The bloopers are great.
Thank you Mike 👍😁
Been a fan of yours since the model 60 snub video. Have complimented you before on this, but that 75 yard shot you hit with that snub nose was a thing of beauty. Love the channel! Glad your son is getting more involved..
Your compliments are always appreciated, and yes, I still have my model 60, which I shot just the other day. My son and his wife and I just shot a video yesterday and it should be posted Friday morning and we hope you enjoy it.
@@mixup98 sounds great, Mix-up.. can't wait. Have 3 Smith and Wesson revolvers. But, my model 60 is my most cherished..
My old original Ruger 22 automatic prefers Cci minimags and is my go to ammo in all my 22s
Yeah it seems to work pretty good in all of our 22 handguns. As well as CCI Mini Mag. I pretty much only buy CCI and Aguila anymore.
Thanks for your review. I really like your collection of. 22lr pistols.
Like the addition of “& Son” to the title! He deserves the recognition!
You guys did it again. I do not have a Browning Buck Mark. Well, did not. I do now. Just ordered. Your “bad” influence! 😊
I agree on how good that Aguila HP ammo is.
I have had very good luck with Aguila ammo and I have the most problems with Armscor 22lr. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 😊.
Well done guys! Another entertaining and informative video.👍
And I agree with the quality of the ammo. Good stuff.👍
Those Ruger are gorgeous, no wonder they keep doing them. Iconic firearm.
Beats the heck out of nasty old Thunderbolts for sure.
That Kel Tec is the ticket!👍
This is what I use in my Rugar AR556 with the CMMG conversion bolt. Can rapid fire a full 25 rd Mag with NO faults. Same with my Henry Evil Roy. Have not run them through the Rugar MKII as it needs a new mag. Love to rock and roll the AR with these.
That CMMG conversion is great. Honestly if I had one gun to bug out with, it would be the AR with that bolt and the 556 bolt.
I have been using Aguila Ammo in 22Lr, 9MM and 45acp for maybe 10 or 15 years...works all the time!!..
Nice mix of pistols in 22. Luv my Browning Buckmark as well.
Quality Ammo I have a favorite 10/22 Target Ammo from them.Awile back Picked up some of these 40gr Run great in My 22/45 Tac.Very Accurate.👍🏻
Got a lot of this when I could find 22 LR...During Pandemic glad it has a good review from you...got it for a Ruger Wrangler I have yet to fire new ....Think I got like 2000 rds of this!!🙂
Another fabulous video, with fantastic ammo, and envious firearms. Thank you!
Another Great Video, I am glad your son was there with you. You did a great job
I have had excellent results with that stuff- it’s my go to right now.
I’ve shot quite a bit of the stuff in blue boxes and non plated bullets. I was very happy with their match pistol and rifle
I switched out the extractor on my M&P-15/22 with a Volquartsten. It's runs like a champ now and eats up even their dirtiest ammo.
@@mixup98 copy that
When I first bought a .22 pistol it was a choice between the Ruger Mk 3 or the Browning Buckmark. I went Buckmark for how it fit my hand.
i love this Aguila stuff in my savage mark 2 and my keltec p17 loves it but i shot it in my Winchester wildcat rifle it don't shoot it well in the ruger 1022 mag in it but it shots ok in the wildcats original mag this is great stuff in most semiautos pistols great video
Thanks for what you do. Darrell
Thanks Darrell 👍👍
Good shooting, good ammo, good pronunciation. Cheers from Fl.
