You can turn your shortcomings and genetic decencies into strengths I will too and be like those guys. Tom platz didn’t have any genetics he worked at his legs to become the quad father Dorian had no peak in his biceps and shoulders and became huge. I’ve watched nearly all the motivational videos of the current top bodybuilders looking for motivation and they just don’t hold a candle to the intensity and passion for the sport that these older clips from the 80’s and early 90’s possess. I always come back to Tom Platz and Dorian Yates for motivation before I go to the gym. It’s like a funnel, no mattter who I look up or watch for motivation I always come back to those two bc the passion is so great it almost brings tears to my eyes bc it’s a by gone era and I’m so glad parts of it are documented so we can all see what true dedication looks like.

He is my favourite for so many reasons but mainly because all the big guys Arnold, zane, Ronnie, they’re confident they have the height and build that wins. Tom doesn’t have that and so he just tries harder. He doesn’t just have the same bodybuilding fight as the big guys he is fighting a whole entire other battle at the same time and wins both.

discipline equals freedom, when you only do what you like, you become trapped in momentary desires, you lose the opportunity to discover what you are capable of.
