That was an interesting exploration. It did look cavernous. WOW, I can't imagine the feeling of walking through such a place, dating back to the 40's. Thank you once again, Andrea and Steven, for being our tour guides. I like the way you often film yourselves doing something, while not holding your cameras. 🌿💚🌱🌾👏🏻👏🏻
Well, um, you know -- if Tonto can't go into those mine entrances - he is welcome in our driveway - even if you 2 need to take different routes. Also, whenever you head our way (different routes again!), we can enjoy a lovely meal and catch up on all your explores. Thanks so much! Bon Voyage!
Makes me wonder why they didn't open pit mine rather than drift. Its not like they were chasing a vein. OTOH, there's an underground silica mine outside of Berkley Springs, WV too.
"It's been a long time since I visited your channel. I can really see the hard work in the production. Good job! You two should do one on Sage Mountain in Montana. Not many videos have been made about it, and lots of people believe it's a real megalithic structure, like the ones you see in South America, Stonehenge, or Egypt. They move big stones, and they don’t understand how."
Thanks Solon. Sounds like you have a lot of explores to catch up on 🤣 Thanks for the tip about Sage Mountain. Sounds right up our alley. Pinning it now. Hope to see you on our next adventure
Great video Steve and Andrea - love the effects, especially Andrea's scream! The sheer size of the place reminded me of a cave in Syracuse, Sicily, the Ear of Dionysius. Were the sandstone rocks milled to make the silica sand ?
Hello Andrea were you screaming so loud because you could not find the Louvre 😂Any way thank you for the adventure did not know that silicone sand was mined in a solid form but it look quite pure happy adventure s ⛏️
What a drill pattern. Great visuals. Thought it would have been cool if all of a sudden that door had grindingly slid open. I believe, but I'm not positive, y'all would still be running! Great video. Todays my bd so I've been busy. See you on the next one.
@@PinInTheAtlas Thank you. I think if that door opened, you both would still be running. Especially if you knew what I know, what's behind that door. Are Tommy knockers just a legend? Haha 😄
Another interesting video and explore. I'm guessing the overburden was too thick to mess with and thus they were digging tunnels? Too bad there isn't more information on the silica mine. Looks like the CCC boys worked on a a short while before the war started. I am curious on how they used the sand on the dam?
Reminds me of Indiana jones material..Harrison Ford and Karen Allen here ..good job again.love your videos ❤I feel I’m right there with you..and I did subscribe I did !
🤣 we do make a lot of noise and check. The big mines are ok because there’s plenty of room. But small mines could be an issue. Wouldn’t want to corner a mountain lion 🦁
As you guys were walking through there, I was reminded of some of the temples in Egypt, just the massive walls of rock, and the flat ceiling. Crazy!
Oh yes. I can see that Lesley
What a Cool Place!
VERY COOL,THANK YOU...BTW,THE WX LOOKED AWESOME....
Thanks Ralph
Looks like a tunnel in an apocalyptic movie. Impressive!
It does rather Deborah.
Imagine being in there when that boulder fell! I'd have messed myself! Cool explore, once again!
🤣 I think I would have done too Kerry

That would be wonderful David. Thank you.
Ditto here. We can't offer a overnight bed, but a meal and a shower 🚿. I'd love to meet you. We live in a tiny one bedroom apartment.
@@diane1390 ahhh thank you Diane. If you d like you could email us what state you’re in

Did they open pit back then for a small amount. Going to pin Berkeley springs too. Thanks Kris
Totally Awesome guys Thanks 👍❤️

The only information I could find was that it was used in the dam. But yes definitely huge.

Would have been great if that did open!!!!

Nice, good job, but no trip to the loo not complete. Got a question the flat wall are they contacts, between the two minerals? thank you ALL stay safe
No. We think it’s a door to another dimension 😀.
Honestly that does sound right, we never thought of it

Yes it is. I wasn’t able to find out anything else Norm
Just to cool. It's a shame with all that graffiti. Damn hooligans. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you and your family. Stay safe. 🥰👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
Thank you Rose

Mines kinda creep me out. What if a large predator decided to repurpose these into a den. Gramma (scaredy cat) Candy

Wish I could. But money is tight right now.
So they would need to break down the rocks they got out of the mine in order to get that 'silica sand'?
I would guess so Peter
Great scream Andrea. LMAO! I don't think the critters want to live in those caves with all the graffiti from the morons. Interesting tour.
Thanks Lorna. It is a shame about the decor.
