If I had a nickel every time an actor played a minor villain working with basically a drug family in a Kamen rider show, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.
Series has a lot of potential. People were quiet for quite a bit about who would be the main writer. Turns out it's Junko Komura who wrote half of Wizard. Some people will run away from that tought, but I love Wizard, so I think this series is not only going to slap, it's going to give us peak secondaries.
Also with the emphasis on wandering, the opening tinged with sadness (e.g. "that's right. I AM a monster."), and the way his gavv looks compared to the more organic one on the enemy... I'm going to assume the place he was escaping from was a lab, and that our boy was experimented on like ICHIGO. His gavv is much more mechanical looking compared to the others, and maybe it's even an implant because his half-breed body didn't originally have one.
The Dark Snacks are made from human happiness, apparently, and they just harvest it from captured humans. What happens to the humans afterwards is still a mystery

Seeing the Premium Bandai release of the jacket and the model opening the tummy flap really exposes how... interesting the Henshin is though I feel bad for the actor when he eventually returns for future appearances.
Im surprised nobody's mentioning the Stacy-Shouma connection with their plots, it makes me excited because stacy was my favorite part of zenkaiger and it feels like Junko Komura is finally able to focus on the plot without Sentai restrictions
Kamen Rider Gotchard was almost one of the best Kamen Rider seasons I’ve ever watched. But after watching Kamen Rider Gavv episode 1 I can’t wait to see what happens next
I think Shouma’s Gavv is special cause it’s artificial, think about it, Shouma is the offspring of a Granute and a human, I don’t want to know how that happened, and is likely he was born without a Gavv, but his body needed to consume Granute food the way they do, so the red Gavv was created for him, with the side effect of the Gochizo creation. Themes I would like to see, and will likely be addressed in future episodes, hopefully, is: Gochizo Revolution, where the Gochizos reveal against Shouma as they want to keep on living. Shouma Granute form, where Shouma has to choose to either remain a hybrid, or become a full Granute, and in the end getting a new rider form. Shouma loses his Gavv and is in risk of dying without it.
A gavv is the extra mouth on the Granute race's belly that can extend a tongue out to feast on their victims' happiness, and it kinda grosses me out that these monsters can eat humans by wrapping them in tongue-like red ribbons.
The reason why the monster refered to Shouma's driver as a 'Red Gavv' is because all of the Granutes' Stomach Mouths ARE Gavv, that litterally what they are called. It's just that Shouma has a more refined version of a Gavv compare to the other Granutes, possibly due to his hybrid physiology (think the different between the W Riders' Gaia Memories and the Dopants' Gaia Memories)
It's also possible that he was experimented on in the place we first saw him escaping, since he was completely surprised by most of his powers in the episode.
I was so shocked by GAVV so, far I feel like their taking a page step back with the belt being apart of the rider like Kugga & Agito. But that's amazing because history repeats. It's story seems like it's gonna be a slow burn with a dark twist given the flashbacks. The suit is cool on me because its not really a suit to me. It's more like a 2nd layer of skin because it comes out of him, that could be due to his powers since his an alien. But the gummy powers make me think of a Monkey D Luffy rider & who knows his use of how the gummy powers are used can lead to some unique attacks.
I had the same reaction as Marco in this episode with the whole "armor" being repaired, it's cool that it exist, but I don't see them showing it all the time.
My issues with the driver is that if they removed the crank when it’s not active then I can be fine with his gav being permanently on his stomach. Obviously you don’t see it until he opens his jacket and the crank is there. But it was a very impressive debut episode

I think this was an Amazing first episode. I like Everything so far Except the Questionable CGI (I believe they could have done a bit better) and how I find it funny the "Driver/Mouth" appears and deappears from under his shirt 😂 And I'm with Kezza, I really Like Shouma's extent of Self-Awarness and how his MC classic "IdioticKindness" is not from being dumb or ignorant of how the world works or for some classic Ideal but because that's who he really is. I also Love how quickly he adapted and understood his situation. It reminded me of why I Love Emu from Ex-Aid. Pure and Kind but from a Genuine perspective, understanding how bad the world may be and actively fighting knowing its truth. I just feel someone's Kindness more when they are conscious of the Bad and choose to do good, more than someone that is Good just cause, not properly understanding the bad out there. Just how I feel, idk.
Shouma has some baggage, and I'm always in for that. Hotaro was...fine, but it seemed all the issues or problems affected the supporting cast more than him. His job was to just fix everything and always smile doing it.
Bandai do make candies for each kamen rider, there is a contest for the chocolate waifer bars to get a clear plastic gavv figure, two types of gummies, one like the show which is unique to gavv and one that has Rider shapes as gummies which has a contest to get a zaku like goshizou that has the real life counterpart sticker gummy. sadly these are only sold in japan. also there are choco balls that give you a plastic metallic figure with many different riders available to collect. again japan exclusive.
Opening reminds me of Begins Night, so we have a W then an Infinity Castle from Demon Slayer then an Agito beach scene then a Truck-kun...this 1st episode is bonkers! Definitely made me want to see more, I hope the story this time will have consistency hehe. Shouma looks like a cool protagonist, he's energetic but not on the verge of being unlikeable. I want more Gochizos!!! 😂
At this part 5:31 I wonder why showma's mom didnt want to let showma eat "OUR" snacks? I think the snacks she is talking about is the snacks from her world, but why she didnt want to let him eat them tho? Could it be some kind of warning that she gave to him that eating the human snacks will cause something bad to happen to him? But when ge ate the snacks, he looks perfectly fine and the only thing that happened is he just created the gochizos But i have a feeling that "warning" she gave to him might mean something big later on, we just have to wait for that mystery to be revealed

Actually most of Reiwa era suits have looked cheap to me design wise except for the two Gazer suits from that Gazer spinoff mini movie from Kamen Rider Geats. The thing with these newer suits is they seem cheaply designed with this satin / polyester Junp suit with just some cheap looking plast armor pieces Velcro'd on. As opposed to past Heisei era Rider suits that looked like they actually put some time into crafting the suits. W suit looks Hollywood movie quality imo. Also really annoying they jeep using blvery undercooked CGI in these shows. You can say yeah its low budget but we live in an era where even the average RUclipsr with a decent PC and some basic knowledge in CGI rendering can do better. And of course thr lack of motorcycle scenes because of stupid Japanese law

The title logo looks like straight out of build and wizard red font? Also, Buster wife from saber is the mom here and the chief editor is one of the bad guy in amazon. There are a lot of called back to older rider season like Agito and Kabuto with the waking up in the beach to having a supporting kid character that teaches the hero the modern world. The secondary rider is sporting a short haired fashion with a leather jacket reminiscent of Knight and Accel as both are always drawn to civilian cases except the new guy got the personality of Blade from saber. Everything is decent to draw in audience with top toku tv cgi toei can offer, but still can't stand minions literal minions. A bit sinister, but what if he ate meat or salad not amazon but just fast food. Does a mcdonald or kfc minion hatch out of him? People said Komura was quick to reveal the mom unlike in the last two rider season with their missing parents, but she did the same in Zenkaiger with Stacy. Very worrisome if she is the sole writer. She might be copying W with the lead trio as well as having a monster business oriented family dynamic. She did it with zyuohger villains mirroring gokaiger. She’s the sole head writer writing since March filming date for gavv.
Thinking about how the Gochizou's die after being used and now I'm thinking would he have to remake his super or final form every time or is he just going to make it and then it doesn't die like the rest. Maybe something like gum? where technically you can chew the same piece of gum basically forever but the flavor disappears, so the initially the form is strong but it loses power over time?And then his final form is a Flintstones Vitamin Gummy
The snacks that he ate, can produce Gochizos based on what snacks it is, He can regenerate his rider suit by using the same snacks in Gavv Henshin Belt aka his stomach which you can see in the episodes, Gochizos can die after doing a finisher

Maybe something like gum? where technically you can chew the same piece of gum basically forever but the flavor disappears, so the initially the form is strong but it loses power over time?And then his final form is a Flintstones Vitamin Gummy
