He was trying to lead Chris some where 3. He definitely wasn't poor or anything he was faking it all
Chris you are good soul bro but that was horrible experience. Please be safe bro. these kids have gangs behind them. You could see he was trained to get people in trouble.
I think the moral of the story Chris is not to get involved, as you found out, it never ends with just your good deed. That kid put a bit of a dampener on your whole experience there, and he didnt look particularly sad about it either, he was laughing about it as if it was some sort of game he was playing to extract money from you, and if you did give him money, would he have gone away? I doubt it.
The sad reality is that it becomes a form of "art" for them as opposed to legitimately wanting a stranger's help. Like you said, they look to extract as much as you can. It's difficult when you're a foreigner in a different country with a very different culture: you don't necessarily want to make a scene because then you'll look like the mean ugly American who is accosting a local kid. However, when someone has been told NO and they keep persisting, then I think it is universal to have to get angry with them and tell them more directly to get the hell away from you. In New York, I can tell you firsthand that 95% of us do NOT engage and just keep walking.
@@Krakaet In India generally people will support the foreigner because everyone knows what is happening. The Paneer Roti shopkeeper seemed skeptical af. There is no "mean American" stereotype in India, because Indians are decidedly worse. Finally due to differences in culture the south of India is a good option if you want less of these problems, or the North East. South Indian here, from Kerala.
In many countries this is not a thing at all... Only in some countries do people behave in that gross manner and use being poor as an excuse. He had no manners and was completely ungrateful. It's no ok that any child anywhere would think it's acceptable to behave that way for any reason.

Great improvement over the last 30 years. I remember back when kids in China used to wrap themselves around your leg and wouldn't let go with until they got some money, with their mothers encouraging them from a distance. My friends from Taiwan and Hong Kong always paid up. Back then street kids in Vietnam used to grab your arm or walk so close to you that you had to zig zag to avoid bumping into them. I look forward to seeing some South American country videos in the future. Before you leave India, I suggest you could visit some villages where 64% of the Indians live. Very few western bloggers make videos in rural areas.

Hi Chris, you are amazing bro. Anyway you keep going, see I know English, but you can speak Hindi way better than I speak English, I live here in New Zealand, I am from India, and Have you visited Gujarat western state of India?Do visit sometime, we Gujarati people are also so down to earth, I am sure you would feel a lifetime memorable experience,
It's mostly because it's hard to break the mental preconception that the person wouldn't speak Hindi, or is using some basic phraseology. Once the realization catches up, they make the switch back to Hindi.
It's usually the human nature to speak in language of other person comfort when trying to help. So if you have any commond of the Forienger you would be glad to help in their language to not make them uncomfortable speaking in foriegn language

you learned the lesson ... boy looked healthy enough and not at all starving ... as soon as he mentioned sister and money and started refusing feed i knew it was not going to turn out well ... any delhite here? what advice would you give chris after he realized that he is going to have tough time getting rid of such beggar?
In my opinion that kid looked like he was a great con artist who just conned Chris here are also some other things i noticed 1.he definitely threw away the roll as it as in his hands a few frames ago and was gone after 2. He was trying to lead Chris some where 3. He definitely wasn't poor or anything he was faking it all
The way he handled that boy was just commendable
Brilliant bro. Looks so good to see a foreigner valuing our language and culture, Kudos to your efforts Man! 💯
@@Krakaet Nairobi is another story, there you are genuinely scared for you life. Definitely need a guide there.
@@nickychavda ah yes. Certain parts of East Africa, in particular, are no-go zones for foreigners. Like Mogadishu
It's very upsetting that in some countries this is just normal. Definitely makes me not want to go there!
Chris speaks Hindi/Urdu very well, wow He actually converses, Wow again,
I am From 🇳🇵 Nepal But Be Careful in Every Countries Brother from this type of children
In many countries this is not a thing at all... Only in some countries do people behave in that gross manner and use being poor as an excuse. He had no manners and was completely ungrateful. It's no ok that any child anywhere would think it's acceptable to behave that way for any reason.
@@Lindseyisloony i suggest you something in India as the people name especially in places you eat
If they have muslim name the food will be unhygienic (maybe tastier)
If shopping something ask a local or compare 2-3 shops for same thing
Don't give any attention to these poor rats
GUYS THIS IS DELHI BEHAVIOUR, NOR SURPRISING AT ALL.
@@AdityaSingh-mm1ez I do partially agree with you!
Most of the Muslim eateries in the north of India are unhygienic but the food is really tasty! But not all muslim places are like that....there are a few places that are hygienic as well as tasty....but yeah...the majority (like maybe 75%) are unhygienic
Whereas in the south of India,I've rather noticed a general average standard amongst all the eateries..... except in Karnataka....there also most muslim eateries are unhygienic but tasty at the same time 😅
Absolutely brother, if he came to this child's house and went to his house, then probably everything would have been snatched from chrish
You are so kind to this boy , very nice n generous of you. God Bless you both. Thanks 🙏
Chris so so sweet you fed that little kid thank you 🙏
You speak awesome Hindi. Subscribing 😅
Just for the Hindi ? What if he was speaking Tamil ?

Chris, you were very patient with that little kid...sad situation. Blessings brother.
What a fluent Hindi & such a charming person with great persona!
This is what I have observed there are some good people among well off and some bad people among poor ones. Poverty is not a hallmark of humbleness or simplicity neither affluence is hallmark of arrogance. It’s better we understand human nature without putting on the lens of seeing them as poor of rich.
Chris be safe be attentive 😉
well said
I have been watching your videos and you are too generous to offer things to strangers. You have to understand there are lot of street people who will ask for money and try to bother you. Don't do that and save the hassle.
Good Luck !!
You handle this child very politely that is very good from you.
The Russians used to kick them away, but when they found out I was American they persisted. This kid actually went away after some time. Things have definitely gotten better.
You are kind hearted blogger not like other RUclipsr I like it thanks for little help to that kid
Please avoid these people Chris, only pay for a service. I'm really sorry for that 😕

Chris, I loved how you handled that situation. Keep safe out there.
Chris you are a very nice person. I like your simplicity and fluency in Hindi 👍😄🙏
Superb content and you handled common people with perfection
You're such a great man Chris I'm addicted to your videos literally this 45 min video look like just 5 mint
How many languages can you speak dude? Great view from your room. I can't speak Hindi, but can understand most of what you're saying, I'm of Punjabi Sikh descent and speak Punjabi which is similar, but I'm blown away with how many languages you seem to be fluent in, you pick them up really well. Not common for Americans or the British to know another language. From London, UK
Much love Chris literally you won heart of many Indian's
Man now that I’m traveling in India, videos like this are hilarious. Because now all these troubles are something that I experience on a daily basis. I don’t speak very good Hindi just a couple phrases so I get in all kinds of weird situations. But knowing other people from the west also get into those situations is nice.
Chris, you are even-keeled and so patient. It's moments like this spending time with a sweet and desperate kiddo that make me watch this channel. I don't know what to do when this happens. Good on you for giving it a try and keeping hope alive!
3:43The hotel room helper has the most sweet sounding "welcome" voice 😂❤❤
What a visceral and thought-provoking encounter with that kid.
Chris, your videos are original and not doctored and that makes them very novel. I have watched your Vietnamese videos in the past and I must say you have a gift for learning new languages. I look forward to seeing some South American country videos in the future. Before you leave India, I suggest you could visit some villages where 64% of the Indians live. Very few western bloggers make videos in rural areas.
Difficult to survive without 24*7 electricity and a good internet connection. Also, the food will be an issue. And no Western toilet. Even I get scared at the thought of visiting my grandparent's village. The situation is quite bad.
Gentleman..helping poor boy
May God bless you🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Chris has learnt the Indian art of head shaking very well, most Indians may not understand what i meant but Westerners sure would.
Chris does the head nod and everything. Love it!!!
You have done a sensible job to feed the poor child , if someone helps them with money they mostly misuses the money with some other unethical uses
chris is spot on when he said over hyped .... i am impressed
Hi Chris, you are amazing bro. You speak the Hindi language, it's unbelievable. you speak like a native, see I noticed not a single mistake or error, you consider the things that have genders, it's like how is your brother/wife?now brother is called kaisa, and wife is called kaisee, this is the difference. Anyway you keep going, see I know English, but you can speak Hindi way better than I speak English, I live here in New Zealand, I am from India, and Have you visited Gujarat western state of India?Do visit sometime, we Gujarati people are also so down to earth, I am sure you would feel a lifetime memorable experience,
Ñoticed how çharitable you are
You are such a good guy and did very well.
When A Foreigner Starts Speaing Hindi, Indians Replyes In English .
It's mostly because it's hard to break the mental preconception that the person wouldn't speak Hindi, or is using some basic phraseology. Once the realization catches up, they make the switch back to Hindi.
Yes bro
😂
It's usually the human nature to speak in language of other person comfort when trying to help. So if you have any commond of the Forienger you would be glad to help in their language to not make them uncomfortable speaking in foriegn language
😂
you are so kind and empathetic. you did the best thing you could with that kid. I know it was a tough situation.
Wow, that fresh coconut juice and fruit must taste heavenly when you're really thirsty. I'd absolutely love that.
Dude Chris, just avoid these beggar/nagging folks bothering you. Just ignore them completely, if you utter a single word, they'll click onto you and hassle you. If they do not go away even after ignoring then shout at them and make a little scene, they'll scram. Don't let them take advantage of your goodness. That kid looked like a thoroughbred swindler.
He said people scold him. People scold him because he deserves it, his actions proved it. I would have scolded him as well. You could have told any local gentleman about him following you and he would have treated him the way he deserved.
I wish you had gone to a really nice and fancy restaurant and pampered yourself after that unfortunate fraud experience with that little man (kid). You needed it. Take care.
NICE WHAT A KIND HEARTED PERSON YO ARE....

You handled yourself very well. I remember when I went to India, I would try and help as much as I can but once you give one, they swarm you and it's non-stop so I had to stop giving, as much as it pained me to do so.
Your hindi is simply awesome...👍👌
Sorry for that Kid's Behaviour.
He was a Con Artist and you got conned ..
You're a good person Chris, But never ever help them. Be as cold as you can and ignore their presence like they don't even exist. You don't need to take the burden for their situation. Love from India to you
You don't need to be cold to anyone. The child did not hurt him. So he wanted money also. It is not his fault for being in poverty. One doesn't have to give money, but one can still be compassionate and kind. In the end, we cannot take anything with us when we die.

Chris- First time in your Vlog. Simply amazed by your Hindi language fluency. I live in Texas and my daughter learned Hindi watching Bollywood films but wont speak. You are amazing for an American to have learned just watching movies. And one thing for an advice. Dont eat any uncooked food or cold drinks like lassi / the bottle soda you had etc. The handling of food with dirty hands and general hygiene is very questionable. And the final thing dont engage with anyone like the kid you were with. They will be pests knowing your compassion.
The soda guy will be very good working behind a bar 😅 and the coconut seller is in max's video too😅😅 The ending 😢😮 poor Chris!! Being kind backfired 😔😟😞 always, ask locals for help!

Although Lajpat Nagar is close to expensive suburbs like defence colony, it has a bazar atmosphere. Lots of small shops and very congested
He is so kind i ended up in tears after he says do u want to eat something to the poor boy
The boy had an angelic smile, but as soon as I saw "Help me and God will help you," that told me he had practice. Oh, well, he had an extra snack and drink and some attention.
I like the fact that you could have easily edited out the interaction with the kid but didn't makes this video for me. It shows your willingness to be vulnerable to your audience and with those with whom you interact. There is an honesty about you Chris. Even when the subject of your video, perhaps a vendor, is standoffish, your friendly and open attitude often wins them over in the end. It is pleasure to watch. Tony from bayside.
