I can't with this city, and nuts i come across travelers from far and wide come to my job and those from down south saying how cheap things are *giving the clear sign NYC isn't for the people* which i knew so long and screw NYCHA i feel for them trust me but their just not transparent and so much more.

@@redred222agreed! Times Square was far from a family destination back then. Especially where this took place. The City has made progress compared to the 70s and 80s. However, there does seem to be a regression with this apparent increase in shootings and stabbings.
There is only one solution to this, make a BIGGER sign so people can clearly see that it's a gun free zone!

At 13, 14 years old i would feel free and SAFE on subway, village, time square and busses!!! Now at age 36 i haven't rode since 2012 and would never unless there was no other option i don't even enjoy going into city anymore ...can't wait to move one day.

1. Yes, people are that desensitized especially when youre from NYC. People have other ways of coping. The girl was scared and/or nervous and she’s was probably trying to be nice to the interviewer while being interviewed ON CAMERA with no sort of media training. What do you expect?
2. You assumed a whole persons personality out of a clip that was less than 30 seconds. You don’t even know if she had more to say because they cut the rest of her interview.
3. Why don’t you question the interviewers questions? That have more of a responsibility and guidance to get the true opion of the civilians.

Two guys tried to lure me a around the building and I'm assuming they were trying to beat me up and rob me on 8th Ave 42 Street and one of the guys was always into some kind of trouble I noticed that by his black eye and also the way he started talking crap. They ended up Chasing me two blocks until i ran into big grocery store after I duck the corner on them. No matter where you go, you still gotta be careful in this world

Sad part about it all is that in a world like this you can't even protect yourself. People who try to do so end up being seen as criminals, demonized. This causes most people not to worry much about their safety to fit in with society's wishes. As a result there ends up being more victims than need be.
You are spot on right. I've said this many times in conversations regarding that. This city, namely NYC, under their law wants you to be part of their crime statistic whether you being dead or seriously injured for them to do something about it, but not you. They don't want you to defend yourself, but rather them do it instead, so they can get the glory for it. That is ludicrous because at the end of the stick you are usually DEAD by obliging to their wishes to respect their law and not defend yourself when you are facing harm.
